She's not taking it out of their diet, she's just trying to lower the amount they eat. I think the average american eats about twice as much meat as they need to in order to get enough protein.

Start with familiar things like lasagna. If he's scared of veggetables start off with just the sauce and lowfat cheeses. Burritos are good too. If you're not going to be completely vegetarian, then why not make some meals that have just a little meat? Bean soups made with leftover chicken or ham are very filling.

I know pineapple has a particularly high glycemic index, so you might want to think about swapping it for something else, like oranges, from time to time. If you're only having 2 servings a day I wouldn't worry about restricting it any more. People who eat more than 4 servings are the onces who need to think about cutting…

Remember how bad your body feels right now. That should help keep you from doing it again.

I'm 5'1" ish and have been maintaining around 143 lbs for the past month or two. I'm torn daily between feeling way better than I did at 160lbs, and still feeling fat. The problem is I weighed 145 when I was 12 years old, AND I'm in better shape now, so I'm already the thinnest I've ever been in my adult life. Losing any…

If you haven't discovered it yet, http://fatfreevegan.com/ is a great resource! I like tempeh myself as far as protein subs go. I like it simmered in teriaki sauce and then add it to a stir fry. mmm... I also made a great BBQ inspired menu for lunch last week: BBQ tempeh, sauteed kale, and cauliflower chili fries. I sliced…

Your diet looks good, but I think you could stand to eat a little more. Try and eat at least half of your exercise calories. Also, I see you joined recently and already lost 4 lbs? That sounds to me like you're doing pretty well!

I think it depends on your height. I've heard you want your waist to be less than half your height, so 32.5 is fine for a woman who's 5'5" but for a shorty like me I should aim for 30"

I like molasses in oatmeal. Flavor and sweetness, plus a little iron and B vitamins.

I'll add another vote for popcorn and dry cereal. Clementines are also good 'cus the peeling and sectioning keeps your hands busy.

The easy thing to do would be to just make dinners like you used to but only take half a portion for yourself, then make yourself an additional side of vegetables (something easy like frozen string beans).

My general rule for the past few years has been to avoid eating meat for breakfast and lunch and make sure to incorporate a few low-meat or no-meat dinners each week. My husband and I also try to stick to only patured/organic/natural meats and find that the added cost helps to keep down the quantity we consume.

I'm not a fan of it myself, but most light beer is around 100 calories and available everywhere.
