  • Added another 2.6 miles by walking to the bank and back with the hubby.
  • I just found this thread. Count me in. Since April 20th, I have done 6 miles. I will begin pumping up my milage now to make the goal. Will be running/ walking. Re-doing C25K so this will be more motivation! Thank you for coming up with the idea and presenting the challenge. Edited to add ticker.
  • I didn't make it out yesterday to do w1d1, so that was the first thing I did this morning. Had a lazy morning where I got to sleep in and just got back from it.
  • I finished it last september, then in october quit running. Tried to go running again and... epic fail. Anyway- long story short- I will start again with you, today.
  • I didn't switch from regular to diet... I went to no soda at all. I didn't notice much of a weight difference at all wither. But like someone else had said I feel much better. I have been soda free (save for one week when I was sick and tried to drink 7-up to make my stomach feel better) for 1 1/2 years.
  • I try to, but sometimes I don't make it to my computer before I crash for the night. Then by the next morning I forget some of the items I ate the day before. When I first started I logged everything. I have relaxed a little and need to get back to my strict discipline...
  • Walked 5 miles today. Love the nicer days when I can go walk the dogs without freezing.
  • I am relatively new to running, so my most memorable was finishing C25K. Haven't done a 5k yet but think I want to. Right now only thing stopping me is me...
  • I want back in. I will not peter out this time. No matter how cold it gets outside, I will go running and walking. Maybe even biking when it gets nicer. Goal this time around is 40 miles. See you all in the threads. Good luck and happy moving!
  • Good Lord, (whatever I am talking about, for example ice) Holy Ice Batman, Really?!?, Seriously?!?, You have GOT to be kidding me... etc. I too have a sailor's mouth- Have worked in construction, factories with women (100 times worse than men...)
  • I completed C25K last year in September. Got up to running for about 40 minutes. Then, quit running for whatever reason (just made excuses, really). Tried to go running again about 2 weeks ago, and couldn't run for 1.5 minutes. Going to be starting C25K again- then cross over into C210K. I find that if I have the goals…
  • As others have said, if your clothes are fitting better, you're on the right track. Don't go by weight loss. It varies too much, and as you have already seen, it doesn't tell the whole story.
  • That sounds really good!
  • I am right there with you. I don't want to go out in the cold to run/ walk. All I want to do is stay inside and snuggle up under a blanket and read. All I can say is don't give up. Keep trying to eat right, and get some form of exercise in. Maybe play the wii or xbox kinect (if you have one). Otherwise look up exercises…
  • No stranger than there being male OBGYNs.
  • Thanks for the info. Gonna check it out.
  • Welcome! When I began a year and a half ago, I didn't really tell my husband what I was doing. I just told him that I had to give up soda, and start watching what I eat. At the time, I was having gallbladder issues, and had episodes where I was in severe pain. After I had it removed, I kept with what I was doing. Like your…
  • It has helped me a lot. Before I added friends, I didn't do too well. I wasn't holding myself accountable, and I wasn't trying very hard. They gave me the extra oomph that I needed. And when I fall, they are there to pick mu up and help me dust myself off.
  • Being that I have a chinese dragon in that location... yes
  • Started volunteering at the local humane society and walked a couple of the dogs. Moved 4 miles today.
  • When I first started, my husband knew what I was doing, but I didn't talk about it too much. Everyone saw that I was making different food choices, but didn't say anything to me. Not sure if they were interested or not- and really didn't care. I was doing it for me, and if they were gonna judge, they were gonna judge-…
  • Joining the fire department thinking I was in good enough shape that I could do the work. And then when trying on the bunker pants and coat, realizing that I was getting winded. :embarassed: Knew things had to change because I was no good to my community that way.
  • You can do this. As others have said it's a process. Don't beat yourself up for slipping and decide to give up just because you messed up. Pick yourself up and dust yourself off. I began the process a year ago and lost 50 lbs. In October, I lost my job and started a downward spiral. I quit counting calories and quit…
  • 4 mile walk today. Can't wait for snow to melt- doesn't have to warm up much just want snow and ice gone so I can jog and not feel like I will fall.... 1/3: 4 mi
  • I applaud you for not drinking! I do but I only drink like 4 times a year. I prefer to remain in control of my ability to think and reason, and don't want to get to the point that I don't remember what I do. In my humble opinion, you don't need to justify to anyone why you don't drink. It's none of their business.
  • I took December off, and really missed this. So, I am back! My goal is 56 miles walking and jogging.
  • My new years resolution is to get back to where I was (motivation-wise, weight-wise, habit-wise) last august and september. Since september, I have gained 5-6 lbs back, quit jogging/ walking every other day, stopped logging my calories religiously, and started eating more poorly than I had been the previous year. So... I…
  • I would try couch to 5 k (C25K). It builds you up to running from 30 seconds at a time to 30 minutes. It's supposed to be a 9 week program, but I repeated several weeks so that I felt comfortable before going to my next interval, so it took me longer to complete. At least check it out to see if it is something you may want…
