  • Hello all, My name is Melissa. I am a beginning runner. I completed C25K a couple of years ago and then quit running/ working out all together. I am back to both now, and looking for ways to keep myself accountable. Ultimately, I would love to get in good enough shape to run at least a half. But for now, just running for…
  • I would like in for May's challenge. Want to set my goal at 30 miles. I am doing C25K and am using treadmill and running outside.
  • Love the 10th doctor with the 9th being a close second!
  • I can relate. Took a "vacation" from working out and quit tracking my calories and gained back about 15 of the 45 pounds that I had lost. Joined a gym and am back to tracking calories. Sounds like you have a game plan and are on your way. Best of luck to you!
  • Sitting at home (on call) and playing diablo 3 with the hubby.
  • Wish that I could help you but I find myself in the same boat. My workouts have been non existent. And I have been eating junk for months. I am hoping to join a gym in a week to see if that will spark some motivation...
  • It really saddens me that people can be so judgmental. Why can't people just be accepted? I am proud of you for what you have lived through and think you are a very strong person. Keep on keeping on and know that there are people out there who would accept you with no questions asked and no judgment passed.
  • That is awesome! Great job!
  • That was amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
  • My question is: Do you want to be healthier? In my humble opinion, if you do- you will make the changes necessary to become so. You will make the healthier food choices and begin working out- even if it is walking for 5 minutes at a time several times a day. I do not think it is too late until you actually die. Just my…

  • I have found that Champion sports bras work for me. I started running at about 200 lbs and was a D cup. Am down to a C cup. And I only wear one bra when I work out. They seem to be held in place pretty well by those. And Great job on the running! It is more of a mind over matter thing once you really get going and try to…
  • This. When I started running, I went and bought saucanys. I didn't have any problems with them but when it came time for new shoes, I went to a running store. They will help you as stated above. The will also make sure that you have the right fit, and are not wearing shoes that are too small. Also, I don't think it's…
  • Welcome back! I have been slipping the past two months. Making excuses like it's too hot and humid to workout. Mostly I work out outside- jogging/ walking and I dehydrated a couple of times... so... But now getting cooler and am determined to get back at it as well. Feel free to add me if you wish. My advice is take baby…
  • My husband goes to a personal trainer and the only thing that he was given was a meal plan, and protein powder. He has put on a noticeable amount of muscle and dropped from like 20% body fat to 15%. And he is still dropping that. So... that being said- watch your diet, exercise, and if you want to add supplements, go with…
  • I agree with what the others are saying. Start small. Make one change at a time- otherwise you will be overwhelmed. Be sure to celebrate your victories- reward yourself for the accomplishments you make. Before you know it, you will be on your way to a healthier you! It helps me to think of it as getting healthier and not…
  • Wow... That is all I can say. I am terribly sorry that you had to deal with that. I would never have the audacity to do that to another human being. I feel that you have to answer for yourself and it is not my place to judge anyone. As far as him touching your child, if that were me, I would probably have assault charges…
  • I have been away for the past month and a half. My workouts consist of weight lifting and jogging/walking. Heat and humidity have been so high that I am afraid of heat exhaustion/stroke if I go out to run. It's to the point that you walk outside and instantly sweat. So, exercising has come to a halt. Hoping that cooler…
  • Adding 4 miles today. Have a shorter work day tomorrow, so planning on getting 2 walks in. 1 when I get home, and 1 in the evening. Hoping to make up some mileage then.
  • Added 6 miles yesterday. Forgot to post it before I went to bed. If I am correct, should be about half way through. Looks like I need to move a little more to catch up...
  • Had to take a couple of days off, because I got dehydrated Thursday night. Next to gall bladder issues, it was the worst pain I have ever been in. But got 6 miles in walking tonight  So, I am back!
  • 4 miles so far today.
  • Put in another 4 miles this evening. I was going to do more this afternoon, but it was soooo hot and humid outside. Still hot an humid this evening, but to a lesser degree. :grumble:
  • So, I just realized that i put in the wrong mileage... was 1 mile, not 1.5. However, I will get my ticker corrected with todays, C25K and walking. Put in 4 miles in hot, humid, suffocating weather. Gotta love the Midwest.
  • Didn't log in to track my miles yesterday- walked 1.5 miles. Not nearly as much as I needed to do to stay on track, but at least it was something. Just have to move a little more today to make up for it  I figure as long as I am to 50 miles by the end of day tomorrow, I should be good
  • adding 6 miles on today.
  • Got a 4 mile walk in today.. Very humid and icky, but done.
