  • Hello, I am 5' 2.75" and am about a month into the whole process of changing life habits. I have been consistently logging food and exercise for about 15 days now. My starting weight is 218, and my goal weight is 140- 145. However, I would be happy with 150-165, as long as I feel healthy. My concern is not so much weight…
  • Sent friend request. Hope that this will help encourage and motivate you!
  • I may overindulge, but I am going to be honest about it and log everything. I don't understand the not logging it. Just because it's not logged doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  • That is awesome!! What is the saying? "It isn't bagging if you really did it". Something like that anyway. And you are just proud of your accomplishment. I would be too.

  • Feel free to add me. I find a lot of motivation and support here. You have come to the right place.
  • Absolutely! If you are worried about your calorie intake when going out, get a box right off the bat, and box up 1/2 of the meal. That way you get to go out, enjoy yourself, and not worry too much about over indulgence. If you are still worried about it, you can work out extra hard the next day. But I wouldn't worry that…
  • Congrats on the upcoming marriage! Like wannabeskinny said, it is difficult to motivate yourself to get up and move when you are depressed. However, once you do (even if it is just for a short walk) you will feel better, and maybe even motivated to do more. I also like how wannabeskinnny said "find something you like about…
  • Awesome! Thanks a bunch. Right now I am keeping it under exercise and in a notebook. That will help out a lot!
  • I would sacrifice the weight goal as well. My whole reason for even beginning was to be more healthy- not just weigh less. I figured the losing weight would be an added perk. However, it seems that my attention has shifted more to weight loss in the process. So, I must say thank you for this post to make me remember why I…
  • How much weight I can lift. I won't be able to lift more than 15 lbs.
  • This may sound really bad, like I am degrading my own gender, but... Girls are very catty, jealous, and vindictive. If they think for a minute that you look better than them, they will do everything in their power to look better than you. The first thing a lot of girls do when they go out is size up their competition. You…
  • I have a chinese dragon on my lower back, a tribal dragon just above my left wrist, another dragon that is blue around my right ankle, and my fave/ most meaningful is a torch where the base of the flame is a fire helmet with wings and around the base of the torch is a banner and a fire hose- banner says "gone but not…

  • Why not order what you want, ask for a to go box up front, and box up like 2/3 of the meal (or even 1/2)? You still get a treat, and might go over your calories, but you are not doing all the damage you could be doing by eating the whole plate. Plus if it is already in the box, you are not tempted to eat more of it. And I…
  • I t hink it depends on the type of job you have too. I also sit 8 hours a day at work. But half the time I feel like it's a school or something. They don't like us getting up and moving because we lose productivity then. They are all about making money, it seems. Some of the leads get pretty agitated if they think you are…
  • I had never done any sort of diet plans or calorie tracking before. So this was my first go round with it. I joined because at the time I had an iphone and could easily track my food on the go. A lot of what keeps me motivated online is that, with reading the posts in the threads, I realize that a lot of people have the…
  • I hurt when working out because I haven't done it in so long, and am trying to jump in head first like I am a teenager again. So muscles are still sore even though it has been over 24 hours since last work out. And I am trying to do crunches on a hard wood floor with just a yoga mat for padding.
  • I have a feeling I may be in that situation pretty soon :grumble: I don't know why but it does seem that men can think about losing weight and the lbs just fly off like nothing. All I can say is celebrate with him and keep working hard. slow and steady wins the race.
  • I do log leisurely walking once in a while, usually when I am with my husband. But I mostly just log the brisk walks that make me break a sweat and get my heart going. I haven't worked up to jogging/running yet but will log that when I get there. I log in the wii games and the kinect games (some of those actually are…
  • Havent been wearing shoes to play the game. My back only hurts while trying to do the crunches, other that that normal workout pain (sore muscles from not having been worked in quite a while).
  • I love this! I think it is so great that you and your wife are doing things together. That brings up a question for me though. My husband is very limited in the exercise he can do, and when I ask him to go for walks with me, he can barely do that because of the pain. I know that he is extremely frustrated because of his…
  • I am just starting out my exercise routine, so I really have no advice. However, I just wanted to commend both of you for taking the steps to get healthy, even though you have medical issues that hinder that. Kudos! And keep on keeping on even though it may go slower than you wish. :)
  • I mis-spoke this morning... instead of doing 75, I actually did 125. Sorry for the misinformation, I guess I wasn't completely awake when I posted. Goal for tonight s to catch up and be at 200- so want to get in 175 tonight. Will let you know when I get it done.
  • Got 75 in this morning. Gonna do more tonight after work- goal is another 75 after work to catch up on the 2 days that I missed. I found that I have a difficult time doing straight jumping jacks- so I decided when I felt like I was gonna fall down I would do some aerobic steps for a few minutes on the basement steps to…
  • I have done 16 minutes so far today. 8 minutes jumping jacks (for the jumping jack challenge) and 8 minutes aerobic steps. Will do more tonight after work and log those later on. As of right now, I am at 111/1000 minutes. Good luck everyone!
  • I will give this a go... I had 60 minutes yesterday. And 35 minutes today. 95/1000 so far this month.
  • I just saw the challenge. Is it too late to get in? I know that I can make up the 2 days I missed.
  • As eddyca said, you may want to try eating more calories per day because your body may be going into starvation mode. Also, you may want to think about not skipping meals. Your body needs food to keep its metabolism going. If you skip meals, it will slow down making it a lot harder to lose weight.
  • Since you are not really seeing any progress on the scale, and others are saying what I am thinking (you are losing inches and gaining muscle), why don't you try tracking progress by inches lost around your waist (or various other areas) and get one of the body fat measuring devices (not sure what it's called) and track…
