I ride the C24's as a daily training wheel with the same kind of luck Mark mentions - no problems of any kind or truing needed. I also have a set of C50's in tubular which is my mostly go to race wheel. Again no complaints. I have not ridden the C35's but have several close friends that have them and except for being a…

I would lean toward the CAAD 12 or one of the other Aluminum frames (I do like Cannondale). Not to douse water on your fire but those Aluminum frames are much cheaper to replace. You will hit the deck a couple of times I can almost guarantee. The main difference in ride between carbon and aluminum is carbon is a little…

Life begins and ends with those peanut butter wrenches. I use mine to this day at the tack.

Some serious #Ridley track love showed up today !!

The proverbial Christmas Goose is walking all over this thread.

I currently have, starting at the top, 2 Velotrons, 1 CompTrainer, 4 sets of rollers (2 @ 4.5" and 2 @ 3") and a Cyclops Fluid2. I use them all. Rollers are a must for leg speed and balancing the left right power. One of the 3" rollers are 10" wide and are really light and easy to transport. With that said I use the Fluid2…

Just starting to play with it but I can tell this is going to be fun. Some Xmas schwaggg for cloggsy71 !!

Yep that is it...55 lb rear flywheel and the DynaFit frame. So real nice to just jump on and get after it. No calibration required, no roll outs, just go. I get into some of these deals and get to play with some fun equipment. That thing is rated @ 2400 watts !! So you can do some crazy Wingate type tests. There is some…

This is fun...

While everyone gets all these new smart trainers and connects to all these cool online bike video games I stay old school....just got a Velotron. New (well, old actually) super accurate ways to punsih yourself.

Get back to Manchester in Oct.

FWIW - On the track gear ratios are expressed in "gear inches". A 50 X 15 is a 90" gear (very standard). For every tooth added or subtracted to the front chainring is equal to 2" of overall gear inches. For every tooth added or subtracted to the rear cogs is equal to 6" of overall gear inches. So changing a 50 X 15 (90")…

The ride summary shows several things to explain your ride issues: 1) You were still sick 2) Your HR was high due to combination of heat and sickness 3) Breathing in hot weather is no fun regardless of ones condition 4) Concern that your HRM drops signal 4 times in 30 min and only 4 miles 5) Don't know how the "zones" were…

I'm not sure where some of this information above comes from, but simply put: Aerobic means with oxygen and Anaerobic means without oxygen. You were not anaerobic for 32 minutes. Another very good benchmark to work off, your sick, then start feeling good, wait another day. So, feel good plus one.

FWIW - I think there are women's sports bras that have a HRM transmitter built into them...I remember several years ago some of the pro women testing them out.

Sit down and enjoy the show...this is getting good.

Hi, I live in SoCal, the Crit capital of the USA (and maybe the Crit capital of the world ?) My focus is racing. It starts in mid January and runs through beginning of October. I'm currently riding a Ridley Helium SL, full DA DI2 11 speed. Quarq Elsa RS, Shimano C24 TL and the new Shimano C50's on race day. I have last…

You don't mention what if any bike computer you currently have now so I will assume nothing. If I was starting out and on a budget I would buy a Garmin Edge 500 bundle. It will come with HR strap and should have a GSC10 for cadence and speed. It is a GPS computer and will upload all your rides to Garmin Connect (free). It…

I have watched this thread with interest. These pop up from time to time and are always interesting. Some good info and some irrelevant info. I would ask what is your goal ?? Why do you think power data will help you achieve it and how do you plan to use that data to achieve it ?? Armed with answers from the above…

I cringe when I see some of these comments. The poor Tour De France riders are stood up for unfair comparisions way too often. Stage racing (in particular grand tours) takes a special skill set. The top three are: 1) The ability to recover day after day, 2) be a good climber (not great, but good) 3) be a good Individual…

They sure are not cheap !!

The new kits showed up...one for Natz and one for Worlds. Then Shimano got busy and sent over new C50's in the new wide version.. And the new Quarq Elsa PM in the "RS" version. Notice they allow the Shimano DA 9000 rings to come across and actually look like they are made for it. This is very nice as you can switch between…

I am a competitive cyclist and I can tell you what I did last year for what that is worth. I lifted all year long twice a week on a maintenance schedule that combined core with high rep low weight exercises. I did not ignore anything in my routine. Legs and upper body were worked. I lifted on Tuesday and Thursday in the…

When you accomplish your goal they all look good !!

Sounds like you have a gearing problem for sure.

DA DI2 11 spd build kit. Rocket scientist tells me the wiring is in....now to finish building up the frame. Still some questions to be answered on build options.
