  • I agree with the need for decision, and would add that successful dieting helps self-motivate for more successful dieting.
  • That's thinking outside the shoebox.
  • Pretty awesome. Way to go! :glasses:
  • 2 pounds-a-week is a fast clip! Perhaps if you plugged in 1 pound-a-week you'd get a more reasonable calorie allowance. I think that you are going to have to go with a best-guess and then see how it goes. I have had to adjust the figure up and down many times, going between impossible (can't eat that little) to too high /…
  • I do a lot of walking, and it helps to burn calories. I do not think that walking gives a great cardio workout. It's a lot better than doing nothing, but not enough to really whip you into shape. Recently, I added bicycling to my routine. It fills this gap, it's fun, and people who ride bikes a lot tend to be skinny.
  • If you're tracking cals, best to make sure you add any snack calories in accurately. Pre-sized bags of pretzels (100 each) help out, and fruits are easy to track. What's not easy is sitting down with a large bag of salty snacks unless you do the before and after weight and subtract - but by that time you'll probably have…
  • Canada rocks. Thank you for the info. If my Dr. does not cooperate, I'll just plan a roadtrip to Niagara Falls. Do you think they'd bust me at the border for bringing in contraband laxatives?????

  • It ain't for everybody. I'm not asking anyone to try it. I'm just putting the info out there. ;-)

  • Frankly I tapped a bit off from my son's prescription. The first dose was strictly to see how it tastes. Sugary would be the best word to describe that. Then I noticed that sitting with a beer and food in front of me I had a very new feeling. Repulsion. At first, I didn't connect it with the Lactulose. Then I remembered…

  • I've used sweeters for years and years with no bad side effects - pink, blue or yellow!!!! :drinker: Hank Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools
  • Other than paying a ton of money to a nip/tuck doctor, I'm not sure what the answer is for loose skin! Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I have a theory that that the same thing happens on the inside too - the stomach & intestinal wall get stretched and that's why it takes so much food to make us feel full.
  • I like Wii Tennis. The Wii Fit Yoga is good except some of the poses are a bit extreme. The Cobra stands out. I suppose that it's easy, if you happen to BE a cobra, but to any major dude, it's a reverse spine contortion. My advice is: Stick to the easy ones! The Step Aerobics is good exercise too but you might want to seal…
  • This appears to be spam. :grumble:
  • I used to think Mexican food wasn't too bad, but once I was eating at a Mexican Restaruant, and the cook walked by carrying a 5-Gallon bucket marked "LARD" in huge black letters. I think Mex food is OK once in a while. Hard to figure the calories though! :glasses: Hank Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • 300 is Nuttin!
  • I'm not a big fan of psych drugs. I would view the antidepressant only as a bridge to get you to a better place, and then wean off of it when you feel stronger. Vitamin B is good too, but it's not a cure either. Wish you well. Hank
  • You're blessed to be such a high-energy person! Given 1200 minus 800 = 400 calories, you should be losing like crazy! If your body is handling this combination then stick with it until you reach your goal weight - which should be soon!!! Hank Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • I think that 1200 is kind of low so you might want to adjust it up to a point where you are satisfied but still losing weight. With exercise, you can eat a little more and lose faster too. It isn't easy ... Hang in there! :glasses: Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • Hmm. I'll have to keep an eye out for that. Did you try refreshing your browser? Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • It starts by getting pi**ed off at yourself enough to do something about it. Sounds like you're there. Next you have to make diet number one priority. Everything else will be secondary and you will make those people close to you mad - probably because you're not your happy-go-lucky former (fat) self. It's not easy, but…
  • Good for you! You discovered an imaginative way to cut some calories with no sacrifice! Probably the grapes and tomatoes provided the tangy moisture that the dressing normally does. Cool. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Calorie Counter
  • I also tend to eat more when I'm hurt or sick. Commit to being 100% complete about logging your food intake here in MFP, even when you know that you've binged and do not really want to list all that food on an uncontrolled day. This will help. If nothing else, it will enlighten you. People have suggested walking and…
  • My motivation is to one day to know and be able to say that I have totally whipped my lifelong tendency of being overweight. I look forward to dancing in the endzone and getting a penalty for taunting. I look forward to buying "skinny clothes" too!
  • Being mad at yourself is a great place to start. Rage is a great motivator. Make yourself number 1 and your diet and exercise regimen your first priority. Rule yourself with an iron fist!
  • Mom4 & C****ey you're both doing awesome! I plan on throwing out a lot of fuzzy leftovers in a week or so because I just wasn't interested in eating them. Die, future leftovers!!! Thanksgiving's just a damn speedbump. Hank Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • I guess that I see Thanksgiving as a mandatory feast. I suppose that I could hide somewhere tomorrow and eat healthy but some people would probably miss me and be disappointed. Hmmm. That's a thought. Anyway ... we just do the best we can tomorrow. I feel for those (mostly female) people who have to not only cook the meal,…
  • A polite no usually works. A second polite no might be needed if they insist. After that, you say "I've just been diagnosed with diabetes." It helps to be cold and unfriendly. :noway: Bring in apples bananas oranges etc. for snacking when it gets too frustrating and ya gotta munch! Hank Created by MyFitnessPal.com -…
  • The highest rated elliptical in my price range (below $1500) is the Sole E35. The Diamondback 1260 Ef is the top rated model but it's twice as much denero. Some of these ellipticals are 80" - 100" long and weigh a couple hundred pounds. I just purchased the Lifecore LC985VG because of its smaller footprint (limited space…
  • Welcome aboard! In my experience, overeating doesn't actually drown sorrow ... but it does make you want to overeat again. You can break out of this cycle. Sounds like you're already beginning to. It's really helpful to log your calories here on MFH. Buy a digital food scale and weigh or measure everything and log it. At…
  • This is a problem even when you get older ... your friends will still be inviting you to tempting parties. After a lot of drinks, your weight will bounce around a bit. It might go down at first and then up a lot because of re-hydration. My advice is try to go to fewer of these events. Drink less at the party. Remember -…
