It helps me to spend some time before a diet motivating myself. First, I get really mad at myself  for allowing myself to become a big pile of flub. Then I get into the ol' do-or-die mode. Then I think about diets past and what went right and what derailed me and what I'm going to change this time to make sure it…

Subway turkey on wheat w/lot/o'/veggies. No cheese. Fills you up without the chub. Hank 39 down 28 to go

Hope y'all get better soon! The energy question is a tough one. So many things can be a factor. Are you getting enough sleep? Do you wake up tired even when you have slept 8 hours? That could be sleep apnea. Could be a blood sugar thing. Not enough exercise can sap energy. Be sure to mention it to your Dr. & congrats on…

Gaining weight is a curse, but losing it is a skill. Since you have done it before, chances are very good that you will do it again. Hank

Personally, I'm gonna keep dieting until I don't see it anymore. :grumble: Hank 40 down 27 to go

Hello back atcha. Hey - I want donuts and chocolate chip cookies every day of my life. You just have to choose not to buy them nor eat them. You can do this. It's a cliche' but - it really does boil down to mind over matter. Good luck! Hank 38 down 29 to go

Agree totally with these posts. So many variables affect day-to-day weight. It's like trying to figure out which way the stock market is headed by watching one day's fluctuation: Maddening at best. That being said, I do weigh myself every morning. If my weight is unusually bad, or good, I view it as a temp fluctuation.…

It's tough, but the only way to get over the fast-food addiction is to stop eating it. Make sure you do eat healthy food, and eat often enough so that you don't get that "starved" feeling. Keep a couple pieces of fruit handy in case you get hungry between meals. Switch from burger joint to Subway. You basically have to…

Me too! I love it for the logging food calories and exercise features, and the 5-week projection at the end of every losing day. Since I'm focused primarily on my diet, I like this site better than (grab hold of something) ... Facebook! MyFitnessPal is helping me change my life for the better. :glasses: Created by…

I eat some of my "earned" calories. I recommend focusing more on the 5-week weight loss projection "If every day was like today then in 5 weeks you would weigh XXX lbs" ... I try to keep that at a level that fits in with my weekly loss goal. 5 lbs for 1lb/week and so forth. If you eat some "earned" calories and the 5-week…

Go you! You can do this with a lot of determination and persistence. Put yourself at #1 on the priority list and stick to a diet and exercise regimen and great things happen! Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Calorie Counter

Use one scale. Weigh 1X/day max. Weigh right after you get up. ... before eating or drinking anything, after taking care of "business" ... This will be your minimum daily weight. It's all uphill due to drinking and eating after that. I have a "nurses scale" - best investment ever. Fluctuations happen! Hank

From what I've read, fructose from fruit doesn't have any effect on insulin production, since it is a sugar that can be converted directly to energy. From the SweetSurprise site: "Among common sweeteners, pure glucose triggers the greatest insulin release, while pure fructose triggers the least. Both table sugar and high…

Try switching to boiled styrofoam peanuts. Not much taste, but a nice crunch.

For September, I'll commit to not eating food sweetened with sugar. I use Splenda and I've gotten used to its taste. I know that there are claims about side-effects, but artificials do not bother me at all. I also drink diet soda which has aspartame. I use sugar-free Log Cabin on pancakes. With all of the above, I do not…

Sleep is very good for weight loss, that's true. Alcohol can disrupt sleep, especially in mature adults. Although it may smell good and be relaxing, bathing in lavender oil can cause male breast growth - not the actual effect I'm going for. :noway: Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Diet Plans

I did the same thing in 2008 after a stressful bout with sinusitis. I had lost 35 lbs. Then gained 37 lbs back. :grumble: Now I'm within about 10 lbs of my previous low. You can do this!!!! Good luck with the move!

Lightheadedness, dizzyness and spacey feeling? Makes me think of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) or low blood pressure or even high blood pressure. You may be eating too little and going into ketosis which can cause those symptoms. Especially if you're on a low carb diet. You can check it at home with ketostix. You can get…

I try to not eat the exercise calories and I lose faster when I do not eat them. If I go a little over my goal calories, then I try to get out and exercise those away the same day. I only do light cardio at this point. I plan to add resistance training only after attaining goal weight. Not sure if this is the recommended…

What was the scenario that led you to the pizza and burgers? Maybe you could avoid that situation in the future, or plan for low-calorie healthy alternatives. Eating pizza is what makes you crave it. After 2 or 3 weeks on a calorie-restricted diet, your craving will fade away and you will wonder what the big deal was. I…

My diet started on May 29 so unofficially, I'm a June starter. Erica good luck with the new EA Active ... I'm sure that it will help! You're a great daughter helping your dad stain his deck and then surprising him with birthday dinner. My plan is to stick around the house for the most part, maybe do some outside work, hit…

Next thing you know, they'll try to take away your red stapler! Seriously, you need to calm down first, then schedule a short meeting with the boss, and calmly explain to him your issue - your legitimate issue - with that guy. Managers are there to resolve these kinds of situations. Take advantage of that & good luck!…
