Have a lovely vacation, Suzy! It does sound quite exciting. I would love to see those places. I'm slowly getting better. I even did a little bit of exercise today, although really dialled down from my usual. I'm still a bit unsteady on my feet at times.

Just popping in quickly - so lovely to see you, Gail! I'm glad you found us. It seems harder to navigate here now. Thanks for the update on your family. Sorry about the gut thing, Snoozie. Maybe you are just more sensitive after your thing, wow, two years ago already! But glad it's clearing up and everything else seems…

My son checked in me a bit. My daughter-in-law wanted to send me to hospital! Yes, it's a bit strange on your own. I was quite confused some of the time, and kind of too ill to be scared even. People from work have messaged me asking if I needed anything, which was nice. But while I was most ill I was on days off so nobody…

Sorry, I've been MIA too. I got covid and have been pretty ill while I had it, and then only recovering very slowly. Yesterday was the first day I could sit up instead of lying down. I'm definitely on the mend now, but very slow and not thinking clearly. Have lost a load of weight but I'm sure will go back on again now…

I didn't get an alert that you'd posted, Suzy! No, it's not wrong at all! Five days in a row of ten and a half hour shifts? That sounds completely exhausting! It's one thing in your 30s, but another thing in your 60s! October is quite a few weeks off though. Not my business at all, but it seems like you are doing an awful…

Yes, you can. I found the MFP exercise calories were an over-estimate for me, personally. I ended up just increasing my calories by an average amount and not logging exercise and that worked better for me.

That's amazing that your mom is still improving! And that you are hopefully able to step back a bit, both with her and the grandkids. Congratulations on the scale loss! The garden is a mess. I have done a LOT of work, but all that digging up of roots I was doing seems to have encouraged them to grow even more than before!…

I think the "calories out" are quite difficult to measure. I found with some experimentation that the MFP estimates were too high, and I changed over to just having a set amount. When I was your size, if I remember, I think I could lose on about 1600 calories, but only very slowly. I would not have lost weight on 1900. In…

I'm so sorry, Suzy. That sounds so difficult, both the worry about your mother and preparing for possible outcomes, and the expectations and lack of support from other family members. I can't believe they have the cheek to be rude and questioning when you're the one there dealing with it all! I'm glad you had a day off,…

Wow, Suzy, that's a LOT of time to be helping with the grandkids! You are meant to be retired! Be careful you don't burn yourself out. I don't even have grandkids yet but have told my son in advance that I don't think I can do five days a week. I'm glad you're able to cut back and have some plans for fun stuff too, like…

Oh, I've just realised I've hit 90 pound lost! I had previously maintained at 60 pounds lost. I'm curious to see if it's much harder to maintain this loss, or if there isn't much difference. So currently I have lost about 72% of my current bodyweight. So about three quarters of what I weigh now, I was carrying in extra…

I'm in the second row! The light shines on me when he climbs the barrier at about 14.04 https://youtu.be/uOzdiC0_lZ4?t=844 and you can see me a couple of times earlier too. You can actually see me walk into the arena but difficult to spot. I'm also in a couple of Lord of the Lost tour diary videos, and in the background of…

I love the photos, Snoozie! I think I'm even starting to recognise a couple of faces! Yes, the concert was amazing. I've seen them three times now, and booked to see them later in the year. I even paid a fortune to go and see them support Iron Maiden. So funny, there was just me with my Lord of the Lost t-shirt in a sea of…

It sounds like you really need an easy day. You are supposed to be retired! I remember one thing that stuck with me from when I was doing heavy lifting was a talk saying that as you get older you need more and more rest and recovery. And I think that applies all over. Getting the rest is not an indulgence, it's part of…

I hope you're getting a different slant on things now, Suzy. And no doubt busy with grandchildren and stuff! You are amazing. The way you've dealth with various injuries and pain, parents, house moves, grandchildren, hiking, all the activities you do, there is no way I could keep up with you! And you say about not…

Aww, I'm just off to bed but just saw this. Happy Birthday! You have achieved so much! I look up to you in all sorts of ways ... please don't be disappointed in yourself. I agree with everything Snoozie said. Yes, look after you * hugs*

Thank you both! I honestly did not expect to ever get this far. I have really been in denial about how much the excess weight was affecting me, and I do think being able to do these things like the hangs is purely down to having less bodyweight to lift (and some work of course, but I did work on strength before). I still…

I know you are all busy, but I just had to pop in here quickly to say I've crossed another ten pound barrier and I am now in the 120s! I never thought I would actually see that again! My goal weight is around 120 so I'm actually in the same bracket! The reason I have to post this today is I'm 129.5 lb and just know it will…

That's great that you aren't getting side effects. Just a shame that you have to wait so long for the positive effects! I hope it works for you. I'm really curious about those middle two! I looked them up, and it will be so interesting to see what happens. Actually, I haven't taken turmeric as a supplement but used to eat…

Thank you both! The crow pose has been yet another wake up call. I don't think I could do your pickleball, Snoozie, or your hiking, Suzy (both of which I am in awe of you for!), but I do have some strength and flexibility, and have realised that what was holding me back on things like this is that I was just too heavy! I…

Thank you for the update on your grandson! I was forgetting that his daddy would have time off, so you won't be quite so busy yet. I'm glad he's doing well, doing what babies do. Oh, I don't know what I'd do with the supplements, Suzy! I'd probably take them all at once, but now you mention it, I can see the point in…

That's funny that you heard it on the news, Snoozie! I wonder if it's getting more coverage this year because the rest of the world can vote? I watched it live, round at my son and daughter-in-law's. We had a mini-party with food from some of the different countries. I don't know if they mentioned on the news that there…
-
Oh, Suzy! Congratulations! I had been just wondering if there was any news! How terrifying for you, though. And scary and disorientating for your daughter. I'm glad that it all worked for the best and that she's recovering well, but must have been quite a shock to the system in all sorts of ways. Enjoy your new grandson!…

Ha ha! Actually that's kind of reassuring as I don't eat massive amounts of those at the moment. At least I do eat mainly good food, although I can think of a couple of things in my diet at the moment that aren't ideal. (Have been buying precooked poppadoms, because they're 36 calories each, and I can have them as…

That's interesting about the allergies maybe causing the dizziness. I didn't know they could do that! I hope you update us on what works. It seems to be so difficult to get to the bottom of things. It sounds like sensible recommendations about not going overboard with the exercise to start with, etc. and dietary advice.…

Yes, Eurovision is massive! The person singing France's song this year is from Canada. She's very good, definitely one of my top five this year (out of 37). I think the most famous Canadian who has competed is Celine Dion (I'm assuming she's famous across the pond too!) who competed for Switzerland (singing in French)…

Maybe I had it in my head that you had visited Germany! I have visited to but back in 1983, I was going to say before the Eurovisioin delegation were born, but I think actually one of them is a little bit older. That's great that you remember Eurovision, and Abba and Brotherhood of Man! I think it's bigger than ever now,…

Wondering if there is any news on the grandson front yet, Suzy? I'm imagining you on tenterhooks waiting! I hope everything is going well, and it's all going to fit around your doctor's appointment! Is the anti-histamine helping at all? I am gradually getting my strength back after being unwell. I think I'm almost there…

Good thing you didn't camp! It would have been a nightmare in the rain. The foraging sounds really good. Although I get a bit worried about mushrooms. It sounds like a highlight of the trip. I used to live kind of communally for a while back in the 80s. I don't think I could do it now. I like my own space too much! But it…

I hope it's all going well, Suzy, and that you're having a wonderful time! Yes, why do we leave everything to last the minute, ha ha! I think it's because, for me, anyway, I'm not sure I'd trust myself if I'd packed to early so would have to check everything again. It's probably actually more efficient to do it all last…
