Appreciate the replies! I do flexible dieting consistently , except on special occasions where I just try to eat moderately and mindfully without binging. I don't know why I appeared leaner after being in a 1300 surplus today. Could it have been due to a lowered sodium/carb/liquid intake?

slow and steady wins the race. slowly increase your food intake each week and workout, dont worry about weight gain, it's going to be good for you, just dont gain weight too fast (I'd aim for .5 - 1 lbs per week). improving your relationship with food, being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle is what's most important.

I'd use the katch-mccardle calculator because it's the most accurate. But just use the the calories it calculated for you as a guideline.
