I have always thought that classic Y-Foil frame was really cool. You don't see them around much, which makes them that much more appealing to a wierd guy like me. I don't have one, but I almost picked one up earlier this year. Before I pulled the trigger I ended up getting a great deal on a closeout LeMond Versailles. That…

I am going to pledge 100 again and see what happens. Last week was one less work day, so I had one more recreational day than normal. I should still be able to swing it though (famous last words).

Assuming the week is 6/28 through 7/4, I had 107 miles.

My kid is a little bit older than it sounds like your's are, so he can ride himself, but not very fast. We have a ten+ mile route we do most of the time on days I don't work. We have a whole routine where we take off and ride about half the path, stop to play on the playground, then continue to Sonic for lunch (where I…

The news is all about Cavendish winning stage 2, which is the big news. Locally though, the big news is our local boy coming in 2nd. He just couldn't quite catch Cavendish. Still, he is young and this is his first Tour. Go Tyler!

Contador did pretty awesome. Team Astana is going to be very tough this year. No rain here today, but lots of unhealthy food. I cycled 30 miles, both for the exercise as much as to just keep me away from the munchies that just sit there calling out to me.

It is a bigger deal here in my little town this year than ever before. We actually have a local resident, Tyler Farrar, riding on Team Garmin-Slipstream. He has no real chance of winning the entire tour, but he does have a realistic shot at a couple of the sprinting stages. We will just have to wait and see how it all pans…

No guarantees, but assuming your derailleurs are all adjusted properly you probably just need a new chain to solve this issue. Having someone at a reputable bike store look at it could tell you for sure.

Regarding cycling clothing, sizes can be a problem for larger riders. One site that has shorts and jerseys in larger sizes, even up to 5XL, is www.love2pedal.com. You will find their prices to be rather reasonable as well. On another message forum the owner advertises a discount code of CLYD that will get you $5 off. It…

Just my stats here aren't that impressive. I started MFP when I was already down to 220, so if I added my ticker it would say I had lost 7 pounds or so. I started at 313, which scared the hell out of me. I hadn't weighed myself in a long time. I knew I had gained, but really had no idea it was that much. There really isn't…

I just started here not too long ago, so my stats don't really reflect anything all that impressive, but I started down the path of a healthier lifestyle in December of 2006. Back then my change had two major components. They were simple. No more burgers/fries and get off my *kitten*. The burger/fries thing was amazingly…

I have lost 100 pounds so far with the only real exercise being cycling. I commute to work every day (6 miles each way) and ride around 30 miles each day on the weekend.

The proof is in the pants.

What works is consuming fewer calories than you burn, and this site has a really great interface for keeping track of all that. There is really no way it can't work as long as everything you enter is accurate and you don't 'forget' to enter everything.

I just finished having dinner there myself. I had the Asian Chicken Salad while the people with me ate various much tastier looking food. I am not sure how, but I actually skipped the cheesecake, and drank water while the others munched that mouthwatering yumminess. I am out of town this week. Usually that means weight…
