My mom actually grew an inch after taking up yoga. But this was after like, 2 years of yoga. I imagine it was something to do with her posture.

TBH I can't take any of the bashing against her seriously, the blogger who started it said she looked 'vulgar' for having breasts. Wow, okay, definitely a valid argument there.

LOL at Shower Stalker. The Peeper: Haven't seen her in ages but she used to come in at the same time as me, hop on the elliptical next to me, crane her neck over to see what I had it set at and then hastily change her own settings.

Job, the goal of weightlifting isn't to spot reduce fat but to help maintain lean muscle mass. Cardio burns muscle along with fat as fuel, while weightlifting helps to maintain lean muscle mass while you're burning fat. When I switched from cardio to a mix of cardio and strength training I immediately noticed a difference…

YOU CAN DO IT! I especially love going early in the morning. Everyone there is very focused on their workout, and there are few people -- usually the same people every day. You'll just get to be one of the morning crowd regulars! :D Edit: I was 273 when I started going and felt like a cow being led to the slaughterhouse on…

I've only ever seen that spouted by people with eating disorders. Kind of grosses me out tbh.

For some reason MFP likes to set your protein goals really low... I think most folk on here have adjusted their protein to be higher. I aim to eat at least 100g per day.

Stop doing pure cardio and pick some heavy stuff up!

I felt horrible on this diet, just terrible. Drained, lethargic, irritable, headachey and constantly exhausted. Trying to stick to 20 grams of carbs per day for the "induction phase" is brutal and I would never ever do it again. IMHO, it might be a better option to try cutting your carbs to a more reasonable level (say…

Raspberry ketones are magic beans, don't waste your money on fad diet pills.

I liked it, the exercises are varied enough to hold your attention as you do cardio and you get a very basic introduction to using the machines. I did feel limited there because I wanted to be able to lift weights and do more serious workouts, but if you're looking for a fun cardio routine in an upbeat atmosphere Curves is…
