Ha. Nope. My friends are going back and forth on whether they want to do surrogacy at all now. I am willing and excited to do it if they want to, but they are seriously considering other options instead because of the financial implications without guarantee of success. I don't mind if they change their minds to choose…

I've lost 59 pounds and the first 20 took a very short time - maybe 5 weeks? But I didn't weigh myself regularly so I don't know exactly. I just know that 6.5 weeks after my initial weigh in, I was down about 30 pounds. The remainder have taken 6 months.

It's very important to my health and happiness regardless of weight loss but I do think quality sleep is a great support. I feel you on the baby makes me get no sleep thing - my 7 month old thinks sleep is something other people do - so even though I only have one I have some comprehension for lack of sleep. For me, I just…

Injuries throw me off course sometimes. Otherwise nothing. Really, I choose everything I do and don't do. Everything else is an excuse and I don't do excuses.

I don't even log mine. They are the same every day and I don't pay close enough attention to my micros for it to make me change anything. I probably should for the sake of accuracy.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! Water weight sucks but it's temporary. Even if you did gain some fat it will go too with your return to deficit.

There are many many threads on this topic. Here is my advice with the caveat that milk supply has never been an issue for me, and I have kept a very close eye on things to ensure my daughter gets everything she needs. She is strong and healthy and so is my supply. That has always been my priority. Weight loss has always…

I'm currently nursing my 7.5 month old. Add me if you like!

You are awesome! Great work! Your before pictures look very much like my before pictures. In fact it looks like we have similar stats and body type. My highest weight was 227, and I'm around 170 currently with a goal of 135 or so.

Also, sometimes you really need to change things up to stay excited about everything. I've been a bit blah lately so I've been working on starting weight lifting. It's a process because I don't have space for a home gym and most of my local gyms don't have the equipment I need. But even the search for an adequate gym is…

Find a new fun exercise to do. Or bump my calories up to maintenance for a week or two to rejuvenate.

Oops! My underwear fell off today while I was wearing a sundress. Luckily no one saw but me. They went into the trash. Goodbye fat and stretched to death underpants, I won't miss you.

I am 57 pounds down eating what I want but I keep my calories as close to my goal as I humanly can. My natural inclination is to eat mostly nutrient dense ("healthy") food but I can and do budget my calories for treats. Thursday is my treat night but I earn those treats with extra exercise on Thursday and leaving space in…

I only had a sip or poured it on cereal without checking first. It is very frustrating to waste an otherwise great bowl of cereal because my almond milk was bad. My post was worded poorly. My apologies.

The 1600 calories you are given by MFP accounts for your BMR. Additional calories earned via exercise should exclude BMR but who knows if they actually do. I believe this issue contributes to the concept most MFP users have that the exercise calories they earn is too high an estimate. This often results in many users only…

This question contributed to my stopping the consumption of almond milk. One too many times drinking it after it was obviously bad. Generally speaking I would lean toward no more than 3 weeks past the day you open it.

I think how much you have to lose factors in. I'm at about 60% of my intended 90-100 pound loss and I started seeing loose skin about five pounds ago. I don't mind. It actually makes me smile to see my progress in physical form.

Looking forward to the results of others. I'm at least 40 pounds (and some significant recomp) away from losing mine and that's after I've lost more than 40 pounds below my prepregnant weight. I was huge before I got pregnant. My highest weight was in the second level of obese for my height, and I'm now overweight for my…

Peanut butter Yogurt or cottage cheese - sometimes combined... because why not.

I love water (and prefer it almost always to any other beverage) so I'm no help but the supertaster thing intrigues me. I do notice different flavours of water but even tepid water that has sat in a cup for half a day tastes just fine to me.

Your story worries the nurse in me. The fact that stepping wrong off a single step has caused you to break bones twice in less than a year raises several warning flags. I strongly encourage you to discuss your two breaks with your doctor. Your bone density may be low and you may or may not have micronutrient deficiencies…

If the ratio makes you happy, do that. Mine has a tendency to be 50% carb, 20-25% protein and 25-30% fat. But some days it's more like 35C/25P/40F and that's fine too. The only one I pay attention to is protein (try to get 85-100g daily) and I let carbs and fat do their own thing.
-
57lbs lost just restricting calories and trying to hit my protein goal. Otherwise I don't care where the balance lies but I usually am around 40-55% carbs daily. It's a lot but works for me.

Several years ago I ate at 1200 and was losing 1-2 pounds a week (probably closer to 2 most of the time) for a total of 40 pounds lost in about 4-5 months. I will never do that again. I felt so sick, weak, and tired. My health recovery afterward resulted in regaining 25 pounds over 8 months and then 25 more over the…

My strongest most sincere recommendation is to relax. Your body went through hell a month ago. Even the smoothest easiest delivery in the world is incredibly difficult on your body. Your hormones are still fluctuating dramatically and if you are breastfeeding, even more so. There is a reason we are told to wait until after…

Whatever is on sale at the store that day. We currently have 12 grain tortillas, white bread (gasp!), and a little bit of an oatmeal and flax loaf left.

I don't care what people call it I'm just sick of hearing people talk about it. If you feel the need to go crazy for a meal or a day or week or vacation or whatever then it's your choice. Just get back on track after and be an adult and take responsibility for your actions. Carry on and stop making the whole world…

The actual diet I eat is simply portion control. Whatever I normally eat is limited to the calories I have in a day. It's IIFYM but the only macro I worry about is protein. I have concerns about diet in any of the popular forms while breastfeeding. Growing babies require a balanced amount of fats and protein and carbs and…

It really depends how much weight you have to lose and whether you are exclusively breastfeeding. I needed to lose about 100 pounds and my baby breastfeeds still 8-12 times a day at 7.5 months old. I have successfully lost 55+ pounds (0.75-1.5lbs weekly) while breastfeeding using this technique: Figure out what maintenance…

My scale weight goes up at AF time, every time. It's only a couple pounds and if I don't eat crazily during AF, it all comes off after AF leaves with whatever I would have lost during that timeframe also. Some women eat a lot more at certain times in their cycle. This has never been the case for me. If anything I'm less…
