I haven't read what others have posted. Nor have I seen the show because I can't stand that style of documentary. This specific information provided by this program convinced my cousin to change to vegan and make her 4 year old and 10 month old eat vegan too. She threatened to leave her husband if he didn't make the change…

I feel your pain. My last 1.5 years of university I had a full time job, full time school, and 15 hours of volunteering every two weeks. I didn't have time to sleep, never mind meal prep. I almost always ate some variation of sandwiches loaded with some veggies and meat, yogurt, fruit, raw veggies, and homemade trail mix…

I'm somewhat petite (161cm) and I eat 1700-1800 calories a day. I could eat less and increase my deficit, but I don't care to. I've lost 60 pounds in 8 months and that is plenty fast for me! I have no problem with the last 30 pounds taking over the next 8 months if need be. Heck, if it took the next two years I'd be okay…

I prefer naked but I weigh in my underwear and bra most of the time because the scale difference is minimal and I don't care if it isn't perfectly accurate to 1/10th of a pound.

Thanks for the reminder!

I'm a big proponent of eating whatever works to meet your calorie goals. I personally went through a long period of time (8ish years) where I couldn't consume cow milk without severe and debilitating gastrointestinal problems. I drank almond milk during that period but wasn't a huge fan. During my pregnancy last year I…

I also wish I could get a large water, particularly if it is a take out/drive through event. I can't steal the beverage if I drive away. Ultimately, I just order multiple waters. It's a waste of cups but it is what it is. I agree with bringing your water bottle with you but if the bottle is empty then you still have to…

Learn to love your body? I have tons of stretch marks and I accept it. I've had them for almost 20 years. They fade. They become less noticeable.

My scale weight trends downward as desired. Random small gain/maintain days don't matter to me. It isn't linear but it is working.

Mine is open to friends only. I don't think other people seeing my intake contributes nor detracts from my success. The only person my logging matters for is me. I don't whine if I gain a pound after an evening out or after Thursday snack night. I'm accountable to me, and only me. I actually have removed friends for being…

I noticed a similar issue where it stops crediting breastfeeding calories. I went around it by figuring out my allowed calories with MFP, then manually setting my calorie goal with the added amount for breastfeeding on top of the original amount. I personally find it works better for me. Just note that if you set your own…

My calorie goal is a set number and I generally try to eat as close to it as realistically possible +/-30 calories. It works for me.

I imagine it might vary a bit depending on if there are nuts or other things in your ice cream. Having a good estimate is awesome though, than you! I personally put my ice cream in a half cup measuring cup. It's annoying but I do my best.

Amazing! You look so happy!

You can lose weight without exercise. You may also find that as the excess weight drops, that you have reduced symptoms relating to your health issues. My strongest suggestions are to keep powering on and continue symptom tracking for your diabetes and CHF. If any new symptoms arise or something worsens, see your care…

I had 90 to lose. I'm down to a bit more than 30 to go. Add me if you like!

Good for you! Small steps are just as important to acknowledge as large ones. You are awesome!

Female: 1800 net daily. Meaning somewhere between 1800 and 2200 daily.

High quality responses already. Just wanted to add that there is a quality of life factor involved for some people: they prefer more calories and thus a slower rate of loss. That is perfectly okay! It's ultimately up to the individual. I focus on healthier choices and keeping in my calorie goal which gives me about 0.75lbs…

I agree. Eat whatever you ate before in moderation. I inevitably find I fail if I try to change too much, because I end up dissatisfied.

Today I knew I would be eating out for dinner. My meals were: 210 calorie breakfast (homemade shake), 285 calorie lunch (a generous but weighed portion of watermelon), 1190 calorie dinner including dessert, and that was under my calorie goal for the day. Life is good.

Awesome! Wishing you the greatest of success.

I measure everything 98% of the time. I do sometimes legitimately forget to measure because I'm human but the vast majority of the time I measure. It makes a difference to calorie intake and my deficit is a small one so if I don't measure I can lose my deficit very easily. If the calories in the dressing don't work for me…

Not me but I'm interested to see others talk of their success. I lost 40 pounds 5 years ago but gave up long before reaching my goal. Gained it back over a 4 year period and added 15 more due to pregnancy. In the last 7 months I've lost down to below my previous lowest weight. I've got 30ish to go and I'm going to succeed…

Within the mid-high range of a normal BMI. That means between roughly 130-140 for me. For me the number on the scale is just one factor in my goals. It's far less about my weight and more about how I feel and how I look and achieving something that I never thought I could do. I'm currently at my lowest adult weight ever…

Mine is a number of things. A desire to avoid heart disease and diabetes is high on my list. Being a good role model for both my daughter and patients. I felt so terrible and unhealthy. I feel so much better when I'm closer to a healthy weight. Between feeling sluggish and starting to have pain in joints and my back I was…

So you have a couple options as far as intake is concerned: Ignore MFPs settings and consume 1300 daily. You may find your weight loss slows a bit depending on variables you didn't share. Drop down to 1200 calories daily and either drop a shake and have a healthy snack that's 200 calories, or drop the shake diet in favour…

No formal diet, no. If I had to pick something it would be IIFYM but even that is a very loose interpretation, as I don't generally care where the macros fall as long as I'm satisfied and hit my protein minimum. My protein "goal" is actually set far higher than I care about. Mostly I follow simple calorie counting with a…

Raisins are my preference. Craisins taste bad to me.

Frankly, it's mostly bogus. I did it and I felt like total crap the whole time: low energy, tired, extremely irritable and angry at everyone and anything. Elimination diets have a purpose in investigating food sensitivities. Nothing more. Cutting out things because it works for someone else doesn't make the diet superior.…
