As a body pump instructor of 7 years I have NEVER witnessed those kinds of weights - and I include the presenters in that! - I have had men trying to out lift me with weights that compromise their form, but it's incredibly rare that they can sustain the weight throughout a track, even with poor form and range of movement.…

Just to add, the only times I worry about people getting injured are when they are not listening to weight recommendations / technique advice or safety tips. If you listed to your instructor's advice, you'll be fine.

2 to 3 times a week is ideal - enjoy :-). I've been teaching body pump for 7 years & participating for a few more, it's never caused me an injury!

I had a tattoo up the side of my foot Saturday night and taught body step & body pump Sunday evening. Just lubricate it well (I used bepanthen), if you're worried about rubbing, cover with cling film. After you've worked out, wash and cream it as usual.

I could in theory but its not how we should teach, we should be lifting credible weights that the class are aspiring to. Hence why my own work out takes a back seat. You're right, it's no walk in the park, just very different to weight lifting.

Thank you, I teach 11 of my own classes a week, every week... 6 x body step 4 x body pump 1 x spin Monday to Friday. The weekends are my rest days, although I'm currently doing long term cover on a Sunday evening, 1 x step 1 x pump for another month. Pretty much every week I will cover at least 1 extra pump class.
