Yesterday and today I noticed I had a bunch of activity minutes that certainly weren't during times I was active; most of them were when I was sitting at my desk at work. I've never seen this before and probably wouldn't have noticed it, until I synced to MFP and had a huge calorie adjustment. So far today I again have…

Pretty much what everyone else has been saying. Nothing you can do about it now; just move on and try to do better in the future. I also tend to overindulge a bit on weekends, so what I do is try to create a "cushion" of calories throughout the week. Leave a couple hundred calories leftover each week day, and then you can…

This is essentially what I have been learning lately. The organic food business is just that - a business. They push the idea that regular food is bad for us, or "toxic," to encourage people to pay astronomical amounts for organic food.

Please do not listen to this advice. Starvation mode as it is described here does not exist. OP, you have received some awesome advice in this thread regarding tracking, and it's awesome that you are taking that advice. Personally, accurately weighing and logging has made all the difference in the world, and I hope it…

No one's body is exempt from the laws of physics. OP, it sounds like your stall is more of a logging issue than anything. Weigh your food and/or lower your estimate of what you're burning with your workouts.

I can't decide how I feel about the 21 Day Fix. I hate hate hate the idea of paying for a weight loss/meal plan when you can do it for free using MFP, but at the same time I do like to see people succeed and become interested in health and fitness. I've read that you can buy knock off versions of the containers at…

And using the same logic, I should be able to eat arsenic, because I can pronounce it.

Yes! I love James Fell. This is one of my favorite things he's ever posted.

I just saw something this morning about a woman who got her dog certified as a nutritionist to show how easy it is to do.

Diced and baked with olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I add some salt after their cooked for a nice sweet/salty flavor. So yummy. Definitely going to be trying some of the other ideas here too!

With all the respect in the world, no thank you.

You can pry my Jif from my cold dead hands. I don't track sugar. No idea how much I get a day. Feel great and have lost weight fine.

Here's an article written by someone who gained weight doing paleo, and got to his goal when he started eating carbs again: https://biolayne.com/articles/nutrition/paleo-made-fat-pop-tarts-got-shredded/ Carbs do not cause weight gain. Excess calories (from any kind of food) do.

Progress is progress, no matter how small...

That's wonderful that you have been successful with this way of eating. Congratulations! However, I hope you realize that the fat is not "fueling" nor causing you to lose weight; you are losing weight because (as mentioned above) it is putting you in a calorie deficit. Also, sugar is not evil.

No one is paying for the class. It's more just a way to get together as a group and get active, and I wanted to encourage some of my more inactive friends to get moving in a supportive environment. I just happened to take the initiative to come up with the workouts. I have a lot of experience with different boot camps, and…

I tried crossfit for the first time a few weeks ago, with my sister and two of her friends who crossfit frequently. We all did the same WOD, and I have to admit I did enjoy the way it was laid out. What annoyed me, though, is that the other girls didn't seem to worry much about form and were just trying to get through it…

Thanks. I like your... rooster.

No.

You are tracking everything, but are you weighing all of your food? If you are having difficulty losing weight, you are likely underestimating what you are eating. The best way to solve this problem is to get a food scale and weigh everything, and measure liquids with measuring spoons/cups. Also, the exercise database on…

I like this when I'm trying to choose the best option from the vending machine at work. There's no way to pick up the item and check out the back in that situation.

I thought the point of Whole 30 was to recognize food sensitivities, not for weight loss? Either way, anything that makes you feel like this is not for me:

So I guess we can assume you also don't eat cheese, yogurt, butter, ice cream, etc. either?

Haha so much this. I mentioned to some of my, ahem, heavier friends that I wanted to lose another 10 pounds. They both shouted "TEN POUNDS?!?!?!" and proceeded to tell me I was crazy and "too focused on a number." To put it in perspective, a ten pound loss would put me in the mid-upper range of a healthy BMI. Hardly…

I only drink almond milk in my cereal, and that's only because it has less calories than regular milk and my cereal has enough calories on its own (especially since I only eat sugary cereal :)). I do not like the taste of almond milk on its own. Other than for cereal I drink skim milk.

You mention finding a well-rounded fitness program, but then say everyone should ditch the cardio? Most people would agree that a well-rounded fitness regimen includes both resistance training and cardio.

Exactly what I do!

Totally. SciBabe wrote a great article about it for Cosmo: cosmopolitan.com/health-fitness/news/a51998/all-of-the-reasons-why-tom-and-giseles-diet-is-actually-the-worst-revealed/ I'm a Pats fan and Brady fan (although Gronk has surpassed him as my fave player), but I agree with you OP - celebrities touting ridiculous…

1. Eat 1 or 2 slices and fit it into your daily calories. 2. Eat more than that but exercise longer later to compensate for the additional calories. 3. Go overboard, log it, get over it, move on.
