  • +1 for Fitness Blender. Their videos are fantastic. If you like dance style workouts and don't mind feeling totally uncoordinated, Fitness Marshall has some really fun routines too, and all of the videos are the length of one song.
  • OP, one of the most important things to remember when starting a new way of eating is to find something that is sustainable for you. Looking at your diary, I don't know anyone who could maintain eating so little for any significant period of time. It's recipe for a huge binge. Not to mention all of the health factors other…
  • Yeah, just don't log them and you won't get an adjustment. Or if you really want to track your exercise, log it as 1 calorie burned.
  • 1300 calories? What are your stats? Seems like a lot to have leftover for a female. Either way, I can think of hundreds of things I would eat with a 1300 calorie surplus.
  • I have a low-carb co-worker, and one day she told me she ate half a banana that morning and it was the best part of her day. I told her that her life makes me sad.
  • Exactly what I do. Before my Fitbit I was logging my boot camp workouts manually and estimating calories burned. Since I started using my Fitbit I just use the calorie estimate from that, which is typically lower than what I had estimated in the past, so even if it's not 100% accurate, it's still better than me guessing.…
  • Good Lord, I will be trying this this summer!
  • My fave are brown sugar and cinnamon Pop Tarts! Mostly because I live in Canada and we can't get them here. Honorable mentions to chocolate fudge and raspberry. Sometimes I eat toaster strudels for dinner. Only 360 calories for two!
  • If you turn your phone sideways, all of the nutrients you track should appear. Carbs, fat, and protein are all defaults (I can't remember the other defaults). You can change which 5 nutrients you track in settings.
  • Just out of curiosity, do you have Fitbit calculate your calorie goal, or do you have it manually set? I have set mine manually and I have never had a negative adjustment later in the day. Just wondering if that affects it?
  • I'm not sure how the "projected burn" works, because I've always had mine set to sedentary. I prefer it this way, because it doesn't take away calories later in the day - it only adds calories once I've hit the ~2,500 step mark. I do have negative adjustments enabled, but it only comes into play if I don't hit that mark.…
  • Also, I always manually log my lifting sessions in the Fitbit app and @janejellyroll is correct, it overrides whatever data was already entered for that time period.
  • That's what I was thinking at first too, but actually it would. At lightly active you wouldn't get more calories until you reached a certain amount of steps/activity. At sedentary you get more calories sooner, as your calories are originally set lower, as you would be moving less. I typically get extra calories once I…
  • In the wise words of James Fell: Pretty much sums up my feelings on GMOs.
  • People have been saying fruit is unhealthy for years now, because evil carbs and evil sugar. Veggies couldn't be far behind.
  • Nothing wrong with it at all. I honestly think anyone who says that looking good isn't a factor in why they want to lose weight is lying. It's always a factor, but maybe not the main one. Yes, being healthy and fit, feeling great, having more energy, etc. are huge reasons why I track what I eat and exercise. But the main…
  • Oh, I love this analogy! So very true.
  • I read once that you can't out-exercise a bad diet, but you can probably out-exercise a mediocre one. For me this is bang on. My diet is not totally on point, but with regular exercise I'm able to achieve my goals and still eat lots of treats. If I had the same eating habits but didn't exercise, I would certainly be…
  • Use measuring spoons/cups for liquids and a food scale for solids. :)
  • A sunburn for sure affects weight. I had a burn on my legs this past summer and was up about 3 pounds until the burn subsided. It's not surprising; my sunburns tend to feel a little swollen, so it makes sense that it adds water weight.
  • This. The biggest part of "success" is the ability to keep the weight off. Be sure to choose an eating plan you can stick with for the long run.
  • "You haven't given up any foods since you started losing weight? Not one?" No, man, I have managed to lose weight and keep it off while still eating all the things you think are "bad." Most of my friends don't say much to me any more because I'm pretty upfront about my lifestyle and they know it by now. I did have a friend…
  • Same here. I live in a border city and when I buy bacon in the States it shows the cooked info, but in Canada it shows uncooked.
  • I'm with you OP. I think I'm in it for the long haul. I honestly didn't mind the first half of the season. Besides the first and last episodes there wasn't a lot of action, but they were building the storyline for part two. I'm excited to see all of the groups join together to fight Negan!
  • This. Also, if you are new to strength training, it would be far more beneficial to follow a program rather than attempt to create your own. Look into Stronglifts, New Rules of Lifting For Women, Strong Curves, and Starting Strength. These programs focus more on compound movements than isolation exercises, so you get more…
  • Look up Fitness Blender on YouTube. They have hundreds of workouts, with equipment and without. Best of all, it's free!
  • I have eaten so many cookies in the last few days. There are so many different kinds floating around and I need to try them all! Have cut back my lunches and dinners to make up for it. Last night for dinner I had beef jerky and some cheese. Sad, but I wasn't starving and was able to stay within my goal for the day. If a…
  • I spent 8 nights at Disney World at the end of October/beginning of November. Didn't log, and basically ate and drank to my heart's content. As in, tons of sweets, rich meals, and many many beers (so many craft beers at the Food and Wine Festival!). I worked out in my room one morning for about a half hour. The rest of my…
  • This is fascinating.
  • Yesterday and today I noticed I had a bunch of activity minutes that certainly weren't during times I was active; most of them were when I was sitting at my desk at work. I've never seen this before and probably wouldn't have noticed it, until I synced to MFP and had a huge calorie adjustment. So far today I again have…
