  • Glad to hear you're feeling better. Exercise is a great stress reliever. I know it can be hard to just do it but man, it really helps a lot.
  • I think this moom is going to have a powerful impact on whatever we do. It'll be interesting to see what happens. ;)
  • Stress will do that to ya! When I have a stress filled time in my life, I give myself a break and don't worry about the food. I've noticed if I just let myself eat, I never gain any weight back or if I do, it's minimal. Just take care of yourself until you're ready to hit it hard again.
  • I've been watching your progress with your shred and your 5k training. I'm a totally impressed! Yeah, if you're hurting, take a break and let your body heal for a day or two. It really will keep you from a true injury. Best advice: always really listen to what you're body is telling you! Oh yes, the temptations of parties!…
  • That is VERY exciting! Please keep us posted. I know a LOT of heathens who would love to support a heathen-based business!
  • Yeah, after years of dieting, I finally figured it out. Small changes lead to big ones. Fortunately, I'm not a big beer or chip fan. Not one for the salty snacks. My nemesis...desserts! I'm trying to make healthier ones by using seasonal fruits and decreasing the bad stuff (sugars, butter, etc). Now that it's cooling off,…

  • I'm excited to hear it's a good book. I put it on my Amazon Yule list! Cherries & blueberries...yummmm! I brew mead as well! Tell ya, there is something magical about the whole process. I was so surpirsed the first time that it was pretty easy too. I don't understand why everyone doesn't do it! Buying mead has gotten…
  • I had an awful time with my garden last year. The temps were just so hot here, even with daily watering plants just didn't produce. I read that it was almost the same effect as a frost. I got beautiful blooms but not veggies. This year, I didn't do anything. I only planted flowers in my window boxes. I was working a job…
  • I hate throwing away good food too! I've come up with some pretty crazy ways to use leftovers (can we say leftover potatoe salad SOUP?) but I'm creative and I like to cook so I see it as a challange. I would love to be able to have a couple of acres but it's not gonna happen. So, I'm content to making the best of what I…
  • Always glad to have some cheerleaders! My sister-in-law lost and has kept off over 90 lbs. by doing exactly what you are doing. She eats whatever she wants (this includes much beer and desserts) but keeps an eye on amounts. Sounds like a good way to do it to me!

  • Sometimes, 'shocking' you body with an increased calorie load helps lose weight. There are a lot of 'diets' out there which suggest doing this every day. Not having a Sonic Blast...LOL..but changing the caloric intake daily. One day, eat 1,200, next eat 1,500, and see-saw back and forth. That way, your body doesn't go into…
  • I always have a private giggle at this one because 'society'' always assumes it's the WOMAN who 'has a headache'! SO NOT TRUE! I suggest a very serious talk with him. Lay out exactly how many times a week you want to have sex. Find out how many he wants and compromise. Schedule it. I know it sounds completely unsexy but it…
  • Sounds like you and I have the same idea, Frau! BIG congrats on making your last house payments. That is one heck of an accomplishment! My house sits on 1/2 acre in the city (almost suburbs). I've planned zones. One for worship (even going to make a runestone), one area for fun (pool, bbq, & gazebo) and one for FOOD! A…
  • It seems we all agree on this one. Feasts are special moments in time to celebrate, not daily activities. I honestly think in our modern society, we as a culture tend to overinduldge because, well, we can. We've got so much variety and food is so easy to get. If we want strawberries in the middle of winter, we can have…
  • Wassail and welcome! Whew! You have a lot on your proverbial plate! Glad you're here. In Grith, Lisa :)
  • Good Morning, First off, I am so sorry for the lose of your stepdad. This is a tough one. We all know sometimes all the talking in the world is pretty useless. It's all falling on deaf ears. I suspect your husband is well aware of your fear and also well aware of the potential complications of his obesity and seditary…
  • Wassail Shy! Well welcome to the group and more importantly, welcome home! I think we can all understand the feeling of finally finding the path that is in your heart. In Grith, Lisa :)
  • Wassail Liulfrid! Glad to meet you. I agree with you about the religion stuff. I, too, get a bit frustrated with well-meaning Christians. That's why I started this group! I promis I won't quote Bible versus but all's fair with the Havamal. ;P In Grith, Lisa :)
  • Wassail Sarah! So glad you joined. In Grith, Lisa :)
  • Welcome to all the new people here! I'm Lisa. I haven't been on in a bit but am back. :)
  • Hi! I know this was posted awhile ago but are you still interested in starting a Reiki group? If so, sign me up! I'm a lever 2 Reiki practitioner. Lisa :)
  • Wassail Hannah! WOOHOO! Another Asatruar! I actually lean more towards the Vanir than the Asir but using Asatru keeps it easier for everyone. My best bud and I practice Spae-craft. Nice to 'meet' someone interested in this here. Lisa :)
  • Wassail and welcome! I think most of us pagan-types like talking to people! hehe
  • Wassail and welcome! I LOVE String Theory! It's amazing to me that science is just proving what our ancestors already knew. All things are connected and we are nothing more than vibrating energy! I'm of the Asatru ilk and the String Theory perfectly fits with the whole 'weaving' concepts from this mythology. Amazing stuff!
  • Wassail! Always best of luck! Antidepressants do work. There was a year in my life I took Zoloft to help get my..err...feces consolidated! LOL The good news is you don't have to be on them forever. Once you get through whatever is causing your depression and get those chemicles straight, you can wean off them and never…
  • Wassail and welcome! Nice to see a male on here!
  • Wassail and welcome! I'm Asatru and a recovered Mormon. ;)
  • Wassail and welcome! I am also a level 2 Reiki healer who wishes she had bees and critters! I'm working on that one! ;)
  • Wassail and welcome!
  • Welcome to the board! :)
