  • Greetings! I have the BodyMedia Link so that I can see my minute by minute progress on my phone. Yes, the food log for BodyMedia really does suck. I recently likend mine to MFP, but still kind of figuring out how it works. MFP is soooo much easier when tracking food, there is so much more in the database and can detect…

  • I was always a "big girl", all my life.... finally hit a point (30yrs old) where I said I need to do something about this. I lost 85lbs and was striving for more. Until one day I started having these pains in my feet, then my knees, then my hands, next thing you know all of my joints were in pain. I had been diagnosed with…

  • I was taking 20mg of prednisone daily for RA, I gained 17lbs really fast. I know that you aren't supposed to just stop talking them, but I did. Workout on the reg could not lose weigh. All of a sudden i drop 9lbs!! Awesome i'll take it. Certainly has its pros & cons.
  • I also have a friend that had recently started taking them. She is typically 5day workout person but had incurred an injury resulting in no workout. She lost 1lb in 3days. They are supposed to scrable how you body distributes glucose something like that. & they don't make you feel jittery like you drank too much coffee.
  • I suffer from Rehumatoid Arthritis and my knees lock up after about 1mile on the treadmill, at a 3.5mph. I can definatley sypmathize with joint problems.... I fight through my workouts that have to bearer my weight, but finish with biking, not spin class style, but at my pace. It really really really helps me, by…
  • Like everyone says, calories in / calories out.... but you can also try switching up your workout and not only dedicate yourself to the treadmill. Often times the body can become custom the the "norm" if it is all it gets. Definatley continue to track your food, it holds you accountable for what you take in as well as…

  • Thanks for sharing Debra... just remember to stay positive. Some of the meds can be scary, flare ups are really uncomfortable, but don't let it take your life away. One of the hardest parts about RA for me, is that a lot of people don't have the knowledge of what it is. The word "arthritis" is the only word that is…
  • GREAT JOB Duchess!!!!! I wish I could say that it will get easier, but you and I both know that there are some days that are better/worse than others. Your post certainly does encourage me to keep moving, thank you!
  • I have but I think it is something that I would need to get used to. It almost seems sweeter than sugar, but healthier than sugar, but not the same taste as sugar, hahahahaha.... say that 1 ten times fast.
  • awww *sniff sniff* Erica & Roni.... Even though I know that I am not the only one, but it is nice to know that I am not alone. That there are other people out there that can relate. If you ever come across something you find that helps, please share. RA & weight loss for some reason don't seem to mesh. Dr suggested water…
  • ^^^^ thank you... I do have to agree... I am just thankful that I am not a sweets person. Though I will admit, I do have 2tsp of granulated sugar with my coffee every morning :-)
  • Hey Peggy, thanks for sharing!!! I just can't seem to find a med cocktail to put me in remission, so frustrating. It has all happened so fast. I am trying to do anything I can to help, and just like you said get this weight off the joints. Every workout I do is literally pushing and fighting my way through the discomfort.…
