  • I had the same symptoms. After an MRI it was diagnosed as Morton's Neuroma, a nerve bundle that develops with impingement that ninerbuff mentioned. I got prescription orthotics with a "bump" that separates my pinkie toe from the next-over one and it helps. I hope you don't have it because it won't go away on it's on.
  • I am kind of in the same boat. What is working for me is planning...a lot. I bring lunch and snack and meal plan -and prep and thaw- dinner and don't have any chips in the house. History tells me I will have more self-control later but while getting back on track I plan for every bite.

  • Zoodles! Or spaghetti squash.

  • My husband is the same! The best thing I've found for a compromise is have "normal" meals but tweak them to healthier, like using ground turkey instead of beef or water instead of milk, or substituting some of the meat with mushrooms. It's worked better than introducing all-new healthy meals. Also, I won't make two…
  • Hi Feenix, I went through the same thing last year after losing my job. I've gained 20 lbs in 6 months :( I think we have to focus on something besides eating, like going for a walk, cleaning the house or something. I get "stuck" watching TV, drinking, eating. My goal is to do something else when I feel like being stuck.
  • The new account is a great idea! I took a break from shopping for bigger pants on Amazon to re-dedicate myself to losing weight on MPF. Good luck to you all!
  • I woke up even though my alarm didn't go off! I think my body is getting used to this morning workout thing!
  • Several years ago I did a fitness assessment at the local YMCA. They have a (trainer/specialist?) who administers it for free - I guess hoping you'll join after you find out how out of shape you are lol. It included cardio on a treadmill, strength, and flexibility. I don't know if all YMCA do this, but it's worth a check.
  • I can't blame the pandemic (only myself) but in 2018 I was exactly where I wanted to be and now I'm the heaviest I've been and feel weak and unmotivated, not sure how to get back where I was a few short years ago. Unfortunately since MFP changed the format I can't figure out how to add friends and I'm not sure if my diary…
  • Same! Just turned 51 and got back on MFP after months of not excersizing, eating everything, etc. I want to loose 30 lbs (again), but hopefully 10 before a big family vacation the 1st week of September. I have had good results with MFP before and I know I can do it if I plan meals including snacks and meet my workout goals…
  • Today I ran on the treadmill and didn't feel my thighs rub together. Three months ago I had to use anti-chafe and now they're not rubbing at all!
  • A layered cream pie. I use a graham cracker crust, make the pudding. Spread 2/3 of the pudding in the crust. Add 1/3 container of light cool whip to the remaining pudding. Spoon it over the pudding in the crust. Let the pudding set up, then spoon the rest of the cool whip on top. It's not completely healthy but I've done…
  • Try air fryer for crispy tofu. I just salt and pepper it and coat in cooking spray then toss in the air fryer. Less oil and great in stir fry, fried rice or salads. Air fryer also makes the best salmon - crisp on the edges and moist in the center. I use mine almost every day....stuffed chicken, homemade egg rolls, roasted…
  • I can only do it by pretending I'm going to work. I prep my lunch and snack and "forget" there is other food nearby. I keep the same work hours, exercise schedule, etc. and avoid getting distracted by housework or TV. My only change is I do wear comfortable clothes.
  • 1200 calories/day is tough! I'm having the same struggles. How long have you been "not losing"? I think it takes time for your body to adjust, and I didn't lose anything for a month after drastically reducing calories. Also, I eat 5 times a day - 3 small meals (~300 calories with lean protein and vegetables) and 2 snacks…
  • I could see a change in my face today, my eyes look bigger without all the fat pushing them closed and my jawline looks tighter. I actually thought my jaw was from age, not weight, but I see my old face coming back!
  • If it's food motivation, planning helps a lot. If you have healthy food in the house, if you've planned your meals, if you've prepped lunches and chopped vegetables on the weekend it will keep you motivated to eat to plan. If it's the workouts it would also help to plan a time and activity. Make an appointment with…
  • Not planning/prepping meals is the main thing that makes me fail. Without a plan I'll eat fast food or wait until I'm so hungry I eat anything. Food is more important than working out for now, athough if you can get in a walk with the baby stroller it would be good. I don't know if there is a similar service near you but…
  • I am 50 and need to lose at least 40. I hurt so much more than 10 years ago. My feet, my back....it makes it harder to work off the calories. I've lost 7 lbs in 3 months: 2 down 1 up, 1 down, 1 up - like that for MONTHS. It's frustrating. You guys that are making it work are definitely an inspiration!
  • I'm inspired by your saying you've been running for years and are slow. I used to think I should just stop because I couldn't do a 30 minute 5K, but I keep doing what I can and it continues to help with my weight loss and overall confidence.
  • It's a lot of work but brown rice mushroom risotto is my decadent "go to". I've done the veggie burritos too, and I agree grilling the wrapped burrito at the end is definitely the trick that makes it incredible!
  • I have had this issue before, but it came and went. Try connecting the fitbit app to MFP, and the MFP to fitbit, I think there is a place in each app for syncing to the other.
  • I hate this thread got hi-jacked over semantics, but to OP: my husband and I are at the exact same stage as you in trying a plant based diet. We've been doing it since last December and both of us feel better, sleep better, and are losing some weight. I love the Cookie and Kate website and have tried a lot of the recipes…
  • I'm Karen. I'm supposed to start Feb. 17 2020, my welcome package is in the mail according to today's e-mail. I'm a little skeptical if MFP and Naturally Slim are contradictory to each other. I'm glad to have a group of people doing both to help me sort out which parts of which program will work. I'm trying to lose…
  • Hi!
in Hello Comment by 2tryharder August 2019
  • I haven't done a formal program, but I have lost weight several times doing 1200 calories and working out. I don't eat back any exercise calories, 1200 is the limit. I do a smoothie with whey protein and 1/2 banana for breakfast and lunch and dinner is a meat and green veggie - no starch or bread. Also add 2 snacks a day…
  • I'm 41 and lost about 25 lbs last year using the MFP calculators. After I started working out harder (weights and cardio) I changed the macros to more protien/less carbs and stayed about 1200 calories. I enjoyed cooking differently and packing lunch and I didn't go hungry. I know it's strange, but I found losing weight…
  • That's funny because I have used the exact same words to describe my entire weight loss process. Even if I didn't deviate from my plan, I lost every pound at least 3 times. I finally hit my weight loss goal (the last pound took almost a month with going up and down and I didn't cheat at all) and when I went on…
  • I had great experience with it, lost about 30 lbs two years ago. It took a lot of planning through the day to get the mix right (ie. two carbs per day so if you eat carbs breakfast and lunch, no rice with dinner). I think if you're changing your lifestyle, that type of eating is the way to go. It's not really a "diet". I…
