Disappointing weigh-in day - I stayed exactly the same! Better than going up, but a bummer after a whole week of doing this. I know from previous experience not to let it de-rail my efforts. Even when I did medifast I had some weeks with no loss. I finally got Chris' book in the mail (the first one, not his latest), so…

I have almost completed week 2 of the Carb Cycle diet by Chris Powell, the guy who does the Extreme Weight Loss show on ABC. We have one "cheat" day a week - which doesn't mean you can eat whatever you want regardless of calories, etc. Basically you alternate low carb days and high carb days throughout the week and one day…

Congrats on the 4.2 pound weight loss. I lost 3 lbs my first week! I am trying not to weigh myself too often, but I couldn't resist weighing myself this morning (Thurs), even though my next weight check is on Saturday. I'm up slightly from last weigh in but hoping its just normal fluctuation. I hadn't lost much at all when…

I've lost 3 lbs in my first 5 days!! I know, first week, water weight, whatever, but it has been AGES since I've seen the scale move like that. It is just what I needed to get started and I am by no means expecting to lose that much each week. How is everyone else doing?

Hi everyone, My name is Kelly and I just started CTL on 7/8. I ordered the book but have not yet received it, so I'm using the info I found on Chris Powell's website, his segment from Dr. Oz, and lots of information from these message boards to get started. I have a feeling I am not eating enough veggies to start off with,…

I have spent the past hour or so printout out material from Chris Powell's website about his car cycling plans. I am hoping to start tomorrow, but it is confusing. I have not found where it says how the carb range for low carb days and high carb days. Also, I read somewhere that on low carb days that you only have carbs…

I plan to start jogging again in a while too. First I'm going to add swimming to my workouts - another low impact exercise to avoid re-injuring my calf. Hopefully as I lose the initial few pounds I can then start jogging again without injury! Good luck to you too!

Bump to use as a reference. Thanks for the tips! And way to go!

I just started doing the DDP/YRG Yoga DVD with my husband a few days befroe I saw this video on another friend's facebook post. It is truly inspirational! I was having trouble re-starting my exercise program because I kept getting little injuries and pulling leg muscles when doing every day activities! I thought I'd give…

You can try getting a heart rate monitor to see how many calories you are actually burning... just a thought.

I'm 4'11", with 30 or so pounds to lose. I too joined over a year ago and I weigh a little more now than I did when I first joined. Just re=committed myself last week to losing this weight and getting healthy! I'm nursing a torn calf muscle (from simply starting to jog across a city street 2 weeks ago! Yeah, need to get in…

Ok, I calculated my TDEE and BMR. I don't know what calculations I am supposed to do once I have these figures. My BMR was 1386. Does that mean I should eat at least that many calories regardless of the exercise calories burned? I did two calculations for TDEE - one for exercising 6-7 days/week, the other for 3-5 days a…

Thanks! I will check out the calculator link.

Glad I found this thread. I am 44 and have come to the conclusion I am starting peri-menopause. I have a doctor appointment scheduled for early Sept, so I will hopefully find out for sure around that time. I've been working out as hard and as often as I can for 3 weeks now (and a little bit before then), watching my…

I changed my diary setting to public, and also set it to track sodium and sugar. I had no idea bananas had that much sugar! Makes me sorry I already had one as my mid-morning snack today. Guess I'll have to change that to 1/2 a banana the next time I want one.

Thanks for the input. I agree with your posts. Just feeling frustrated because a friend I introduced to MFP has already lost 7 pounds while my scale doesn't move. I do feel like my pants are a tad less tight, so there is something. If I drop inches/sizes in the next several months, I won't care what the scale says. About…

VERY INSPIRING!! Thanks for sharing. You look great.

You're right - we don't need another 40-something issue! I will try the glucosimine. I think I might have a bottle of that supplement somewhere, if it isn't expired that is.

Fantastic results! Great job.

Thanks for posting. You look fantastic, and more importantly, you feel great and have inspired your kids to be healthy too! I'm only 4' 11", so I know how hard it is for us shorter women to lose the weight. I have about 35 - 40 pounds to lose as well. I did it just over a year ago using Medifast, and subsequently gained it…

I use Cardio Trainer on my Droid phone. Love it! Tracks your distance/time/steps using the GPS in your smart phone. It is also free!

You look awesome! The scale is not telling your whole story. Did you take any measurements? Keep up the good work. I know you can reach your goals.

You look great! I love seeing progress pictures - inspires me to keep going so I can post my own down the road. So ... is that half marathon course mostly flat? I started running too.
