I was going to ask about the warmup also. I jump rope for a bit to get the blood pumping then do several sets with just the bar gradually working up to a full squat. It takes a few sets to get my legs limbered up the first go around with the first bar set I only go about half way down.

I don't argue with anyone about it. If anyone asks me what I did I tell them. When people are telling me about the evils of some specific food or how they are detoxing I just listen with genuine fascination.

No gym for me- just lifting in my garage and hiking/biking/kayaking outside.

I'm not even a big pop tart fan but I will be buying some of these if I ever find them.

Absolutely great post. Everyone starting out should read this.

I agree with this. When I take my daughter cycling I would not even consider starting <150 or so because from past experience even cutting her basal rate by 50% and drinking a bottle of real Gatorade during the ride without a bolus for it- I can expect her to drop 50-60 points in an hour. That is with moderate riding…

My daughter loves the Omnipod. She is in dance and sports and it's nice with a little planning you can place the pods on the arm or the belly or the hip depending on what she will be doing and/or wearing. I also heard the next generation of Pods was finally FDA approved (or almost approved) which is possibly smaller and…

My daughter uses the Omnipod- it's the only pump we have ever used so don't really have much to compare it to. She is an active kid into dance and sports and swimming and for the most part the pods do really well for her. The only place we have ever had a problem with them coming loose is at water parks but we just wrap…

Hi- I'm dad to a 12yo daughter with Type1 since she was 8 and she also uses the Omnipod so any other T1 or T1 parents feel free to add me.

I can pretty much watch my blood pressure go up with high sodium- ironic I see a Chili's banner on this page too because the Buffalo Chicken Salad I had there yesterday had like two whole days worth of sodium in it. :ohwell:

I saw this yesterday and found it very helpful http://train.elitefts.com/instructional/so-you-think-you-can-squat-parts-1-5/

I passed up going for a snack because reading the first page of this thread made me really hungry. Stopping now.

My daughter has Type 1 and used the Omnipod. It is the only pump she has ever had so we don't really have anything to compare it to but she does like it because it's tubeless and the little pod just sticks to you and only has to be changed every 2-3 days. It's pretty durable and waterproof and you can place it on your arms…

I do a combination of both- follow a lifting program 3x per week and then fill in the gaps with activities I enjoy like biking, hiking, and kayaking.

Sorry you feel that way- but glad to see you are leading by example and not judging or labeling others.

These look awesome- saving for later when I have time to go through all 10 pages.

I went from eating McDonalds 1-2 times per day to 1-2 times per month about a year ago. That was only one of several changes I made but I think the ticker speaks for itself.

Awesome article- I could pretty much relate to every one of their stories. Thanks for sharing.

The worst part is they showed a clip of them driving in their van taken some time recently like right before the show started filming and the poor kid was still locked in his car seat right behind dad. They might want to move him to the other side or the back row- just sayin.

Thanks for the link- I will check it out tonight.

I know WHY it weights more. Just posting in case anyone was trying to figure out a serving size after it is prepared since the information on the box is the dry weight.

Some good ideas there. Thanks for sharing.

lol- I was just about to post "Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage"

Last year I weighed myself every day- several times a day actually. This year I decided to just do it once a month. I don't think there is anything wrong with weighing in every day as long as you understand what the scale says in the morning isn't all about what you did yesterday. I see a lot of people on the site posting…
