  • I've listed myself as very active, 5-6 hours of strenuous exercise a week... My exercise levels are: Netball twice a week (both an hour a time) Swimming 3 times a week (at least an hour of solid lengths each time) 30DS roughly 4 days a week (half an hour a time) Squash twice a week (45 minutes a time) I've also started…
  • Not net below BMR? I did not realise that! Does that mean increase intake from 2131 on days where I burn more than 600 cals, which is quite frequent. These feel like basic questions but I just want to be sure.......
  • Loving this! Made me laugh A LOT!! Keep reading Seventeen magazine, it is a true wealth of knowledge :-)
  • Yeah, I have found that slightly confusing - I've been busy paying attention to my net but from what you're saying I just need to carry on doing what I am doing exercise wise and make sure I consume 2131 cals a day. Thats fab! Thank you for making it clear! 2131 is scary when everyone I know on here has been given 1200…

I followed MFP guidelines of 1200 cals, ate some exercise cals and averaged 1300 cals a day - didn't lose. When I got the advice you have been…
  • I always use the 1 cal spray for stir fries - I use the olive oil one because it's a good fat - just a thought to reduce the cals! x
  • Oh and massive thanks to PLUMSGRL for the blog link. It does make sense when you step back and look at it differently. I think I will have to bite the bullet and raise my calorie intake! Fingers crossed I don't just put on the few lbs that have shifted so far!!!
  • Thank you all for your replies. I find it hard to imagine that I am in starvation mode as my BMR is 1398 and generally I eat that amount? Perhaps I have misunderstood it but I thought the exercise calories didn't have to be eaten because they aided faster weight loss - I only want to average 2lbs a week so I'm not looking…
