I have done this race and yes it is fun! There are lots of walkers (I am a walker) and the pacing requirements are a little strict because it is Disney. You need to be able to finish in approximately 3.5 hours. Disney has be known to sweep the course if you are behind pace...minimum is 16min/mile. Good luck!

Try walking since you already know how to do it! If you have the money, treat yourself to a heart rate monitor and a set of "walking clothes" made of a moisture wicking fabric and a good pair of running yes running shoes. Get them from a running specialty store where they will fit you properly for your arch type, etc. Then…

20 miles a week burns at least 1400 calories a week and if you are walking fast like 4 mph then it burns about 1800. A heart rate monitor as suggested would help you know more. You are most definitely starving yourself and your body is holding on to the fat. You need to eat your protein !!!!!! When I was training for…

Your doctor is WRONG! You will not be able to stay on that low calorie diet for long. YOU need to find something that you can adhere to as well as something that makes sure you are getting enough nutrition. THat is one of the biggest problems with severe low calorie diets. I would up it to a minimum of 1200 calories and…

I spend so much on groceries its ridiculous. I do a lot of my shopping at Whole Foods because it is convenient and I can usually get foods there that I can't get in the other stores...I love Rudy's English muffins and also Rudy's whole wheat bread. Organic potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, lettuce, celery...a lot of…

I believe that this program sets the calories based on NO ACTIVITY!!!! It is what you need to breathe, get up and walk to the bathroom and turn on the remote control! Conventional wisdom is that most people will lose weight on 1500 calories a day. If you don't eat enough you slow down your metabolism and your body stores…

It surely is age dependent! I am 5'2" and 135 at the moment at not too happy about it. I am in great shape but still carrying too much fat. 10 years ago I weighed 125 and thought that was too fat. Now I am trying to get to 130 and maintain that but at 57 its pretty hard, and I am very active which makes me hungry!

Hal Higdon has a good program so does Jeff Galloway if you want to incorporate walk breaks. Remember to train by the 10% rule meaning don't increase your mileage by more than 10% a week. Also remember its not all about upping the mileage. Its best to increase, go back, then go back up again until you reach the goal. The…

Tofu, quinoa, brown rice, and some pastas are good sources of protein. I am shocked through my logging that my protein is so high because the program counts all protein even the protein in whole wheat bread, etc.

Hi there! Me too! I have a Trek 1.5 and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my backordered Scott Contessa Foil! Hoping I might gain 0.5 mph in speed on a more aerodynamic bike!

Hi Iixia! If for example your watch is a Polar, and you replace it with a Polar strap, the answer is yes it will work. Have you checked the battery on the chest strap. They are often the little lithium round ones, but not so easy to change. Bring it to a running specialty store and they may be able to help you test the…

I cycle! And it makes me very hungry! LOL! I ride twice a week, 22 miles on Tuesdays usually and anywhere from 30-50 during one of the weekend days. Riding is flat but windy and we don't get to go many places because Miami is dangerous for two wheels! I also walk and used to walk marathons and half marathons, but my joints…
