  • Side note for a better bra when things shrink. Google handful sports bras. Use them as a regular bra sometimes too. The best bra I've tested out (b/c cup myself)

  • The fact your down 2 after a marathon is awesome. Heck, after I do a half marathon, I easily gain 5+ pounds of water weight for several days. Slow and steady on the weight loss works!
  • Alas, can't help you on that one, think it's still just a US and Canada thing. (Unless some of the vegan online stores ship to the UK?) Having had it, it's ok. I've tried several cheezes out there, and they are all a little odd. I'd say about half the time I'll put it on pizza (a very light sprinkling, I found if you load…
  • Vegan, and pretty sure my diary is open. I do a lot of meals from happy herbivore cookbooks and her meal plans. Slip ups happen, but you'll get good at scanning the ingredients :) You can also try the "is it vegan" phone app. Scan the barcode and usually it will tell you.
  • When you willingly get up early to go for a run. When you pay money for the opportunity to go run on the road. When running shoes out number regular shoes. When you devote a drawer just to tech shirts. When it's crappy weather and you still get out there and move. I figure if you are off the couch and moving it counts. I…
  • I'm vegan, but check out the fat free vegan blog, and the happy herbivore cook books. HH is what got me out of my same food ruts I was in, and moved me away from depending on processed convenience foods.
  • I try to get my miles in Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and do my long miles on Sunday. Body has been happy with that for almost 3 years :)
  • I drink ice tea with stevia. I don't track my tea intake.
  • Thank you for this reply, needed the laugh. Even though it's sugar free, I don't think 16 cups of jello would ever be worth it.
  • Ramp up your mileage slowly :) I had issues with shin splints, and found compression socks helped a bit.
  • Running clubs are good to check out. I've found free group runs with our local running stores, along with running group for my city on Facebook. Maybe check those out and see if you can find some running buddies to join you too!
  • Carry my phone, ear phone in one ear only, and on low. I stick to my neighborhood since there are lots of people around, or the school track. If I head to the park, I've got a running buddy with me. So far nothing sketchy enough to warrant more drastic measures...
  • Vegan here, but vegan or not, check out fat free vegan' s blog, and happy herbivore' s cook books and blog for ideas. I've been using HH meal plans and cookbooks for the most part, and down 28 pounds since Christmas.
  • I use the happy herbivore weekly meal plans and cookbooks. I'm vegan, but I figure your could add meat back in if you wanted. It's been very handy in that I get weekly shopping lists, prep and make most of my meals on Sunday, and don't waste so much food anymore.
  • Say thank you, but I'm working on making changes to get healthier, and this candy is a trigger food for me. If you have to have some, measure out a serving, toss the rest in the freezer (frozen candy=more likely to break a tooth, good reason not to eat them) and have him take them to work to share. Or, pour some water in…
  • Have you tried the dress on? I found that wedding dresses run small anyway. If your goal is a wedding dress size 8, that could be more like trying to fit into a size 6 or smaller. I'm back to a weight I hadn't seen in a few years, but I didn't exercise either when I was this weight before. Parts are way more toned up now,…

  • 140 is just a number. Add some weight training in there, and things will tone up. If your dress fits and you feel awesome that day, then it really shouldn't matter if your scale says 140 or 145 that day. Keep up what you've found to work so far, and enjoy your wedding day. I'm guessing since you've worked on losing weight…
  • If it were me, I'd lay off the coconut oil until your stomach bug is on the mend. Intestinal distress can be a common side effect from coconut oil, and right now bland "plugging" foods are what you are aiming for.
  • White rice, no sugar added apple sauce, what ever vegan bread I can find at the store and bananas. BRAT is BRAT. Might not be a bad idea to add in some probiotics or yogurt with live culture if you eat dairy. Anyone can get a stomach bug, plant based or not. Oh, and oatmeal, with banana slices in it.
  • Fan of fat free vegan' s blog. I haven't had a recipe not be good from her site.
  • I use a Garmin watch, or if I forget to charge it, map my run on my phone.
  • It's vegan, but Google the fat free vegan blog. I've yet to not have a good recipe from that site.
  • I weigh once a week, helps balance out the daily fluctuations you'll see. Friday morning after I get up has been my choice. If I've been sick, I don't really get too excited about loss, since I know it's related to water weight loss, and its going to level out once I'm drinking again.
  • 2 things probably at play. If you've been sick and not eating and or drinking, the weigh loss is related to being empty and or slightly dehydrated. Also, two different scales. Odds are the drs. Office is hopefully calibrated more often than your home scale.
  • I could use another mfp friend for motivation and cheering on. Also a pnw'er. Down 22, hoping 15-20 more. Kid free due to health reasons, and do a lot of road races. Used to run, but blew out a busted ankle, so I speed walk now.
  • Does beer count? It just takes time, and as you build up stamina the soreness will get better. I used to be sore training for a 5k. Now I'm not sure unless I'm over about 8 miles?
  • I'm vegan, but I was vegetarian (carb heavy and a lot of processed stuff). Went vegan about 10 months ago, and added 10 pounds. I'm pretty active (train for races, hiking) but didn't track or utilize mfp until I decided to drop some pounds and see if it helps my race pace and make a bum ankle better. I've switched to using…
