Cigar City "Jai Alai" IPA, Lagunitas "Maximus" Imperial IPA, Cigar City "Tocobaga" red ale are just the top three. I could go on forever. :)

My little girl just turned 5 yesterday. :)

very admirable!

This is the sexiest thread on MFP!

My weight always fluctuates like that when I did several things. For instance, I would eat too little while exercising (cardio) - restricting my calories without figuring out my TDEE, lose a few pounds after a couple of weeks, and then gain it all back as soon as I went off the diet for a few days. This was probably the…

And it's only the beginning. Amazing job! :flowerforyou:

Just like everything else, cheat meals have to be planned. Unfortunately people turn entire weekends into cheat meals, especially if they work out, thinking that working out allots them this luxury. If you're not logging or eating properly, you're wasting your time. A single cheat meal i.e. an evening out at some major…

1,500 calories seems very little for a guy who works out 5 days a week! I eat around 1,900 per day at a 15% cut (from my TDEE) to get leaner. Weigh and log everything you eat, preferably before you actually eat it, - religiously. Don't guess your calories - measure them. Stop eating all the processed junk you eat (it…

Me too! I'm learning and would love more advice and guidance. Thanks.

No makeup, because I'll be the one to towel it off into huge raccoon eyes and walk around that way until I see a mirror. :)

Oh wow! What a success! Congrats!

We were just discussing this issue in this topic. You are simply not eating enough. Check it out: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1113924-why-wont-this-weight-go-away

I love Scooby! He brought me to my senses. I will never look back. :D

Yes, I totally agree. Expectations have to be realistic. Measurements are more efficient than a scale. Determine your goal, make a plan to go with it, and stick to it. You have to think long-term both in terms of results and lifestyle. What will you do once you reach that goal?

Yes! Once I upped my calories, and spread it into even meals. I dropped 2 lbs in just a few days. I want to lose slowly, because I'm not focused on my weight since size is not an issue for me. I'm focused on getting rid of fat and building muscle. And this was the best part. 1/2 inch of my belly (by biggest part because of…

I also have a desk job and I work from home. I'm in my home office 6-8 hours per day. But I make sure to hit the gym 6 days a week for 2 hours varying cardio/weights. Before I did the same routine but only cardio, even did 3 hours of it per day at some point and was at the same exact weight for almost two years. I was…

No problem. If you notice that you're hungry/craving things all the time. It's totally because you don't eat enough. I was the same way. Eat a banana- gain a pound. Nothing changed, and kept upping the cardio thinking I wasn't doing enough. I stayed at the same weight, yes, but it would fluctuate up and down a couple of…

You have to eat according to your needs. How did you come up with 1200 calories? That's way too little for an active young woman. If all you do is cardio, and starve yourself (not intake enough calories to keep your body functioning efficiently) - you will not loose weight. Look at it as the equivalent of being a hamster…

Results motivate me the most. All the effort I've put in over the last couple of years is not worth wasting by sitting on the couch. Finally seeing muscle on my body. Going from not being able to do a single push up a few months ago to doing 3-4 sets of 20. The best part is when an exercise that seemed like pure hell…

Eating healthy doesn't mean that you're eating correctly for your needs. How many calories are you eating? What is your BMR? How many calories do you need to eat to maintain your current weight at your level of exercise? How often do you eat during the day? What is exercising 6 days a week? How many hours? Is it all cardio…

If you are serious about making progress, you have to determine what is it that you want first. Are you loosing weight, gaining muscle, loosing fat, already have ideal look and just want to maintain, etc? If you want to lose fat and gain muscle and want to look like you work out, yes - the kitchen has just as much to do…

Superb! Great time and achievement!

And in other news: The Earth is round. I really don't find it that difficult. Adjust your diet to eating a good balance of nutritious foods closest to their natural state to avoid overindulging on processed food, watch your intake and exercise. I don't think it's some magic formula, but it does require commitment.

So let me get the logic of the arguments in this thread sorted out: So, it is absolutely not okay to share opinions and comments on someone's weight because that's bullying. But it's okay to bully someone for having a different opinion? As far as I can see it, it's exactly what is happening here.

I'm pretty sure that requiring a step ladder to hoist yourself into a car could qualify as a health problem. Am I wrong?
Use a good rule of thumb, if it looks like it was when it came from the ground/animal, eat it. If doesn't don't. If you are not sure, don't. Keeps things easy.
Exactly! And keeping food safety in mind, something that is cooked the least, retains most of it nutritional value.

This tread has been quiet :) Update. I started the RI30 program two weeks before xmas. I got great results just in that tiny amount of time and lost about .5 inches off my target areas - waist and stomach (still working to tighten up some post partum skin/fat). We went out of town for two weeks over the holidays, and…

My general rules for losing weight is not dieting per se, but to focus on eating well. Eat as little prepackaged, processed food as you can. Especially avoid eating out in restaurants. Cook your meals with fresh ingredients and watch your caloric intake depending on whether you want to loose fat or gain muscle. I think…

I also avoid the Cheesecake Factory like the plague. They are one of the worst places for calories, among other ones.

I was in the same exact frame of thought! I was aghast when I actually saw their menu with all the calories listed. Apparently, they are also some of the worst offenders for sodium, esp in their bread.
