I'm not sure what I can offer - I'm just doing the basics of watching the calories in and plenty of exercise. I do have plenty of periods of time where nothing seems to be happening and then it bumps along again. How long have you been stuck for?

I definitely agree with finding a pool with different speed lanes - if you find a pool with a slow lane then hit that and you won't feel too pressured to keep to speed. Also perhaps try and find out the quiet times.

Another Brit here - Trying to lose a minimum of 100lbs, 4 months in and I'm 45 down at the moment!

I fairly recently started back at the gym and had exactly the same, I went from losing 2-3lb a week to losing nothing. It took about 3-4 weeks to disappear in full and to kick start.

Aiming to lose 24lb in 5 weeks is an insane goal - I'm fairly sure MFP won't offer any plans that are greater than 2lb a week loss. The "if every day like today" is only an estimate based on that individual day and the data you've fed it.

Hit the gym at the weekend for the first time in about 3 yrs! Also notice some of my clothes are getting too big although I cant see the difference myself yet.

My situation probably completely mirrors yours - Dad struggling with a life balance, comfort eating, failing at WW/SW etc etc, yo yo dieting etc! I topped the scales in April at about 390lb and have managed to lose 40lb in the three or so months since buy tracking calories and trying to up exercise!

I'm trying to lose somewhere between 100/125/150lbs - at the moment about 3 months in and I am down 35lb.

My Fitbit steps now seem to be appearing in the web version of MFP - nothing appearing in the app though which seems to be still pretty much dead.

I do a weird combination of calorie counting and Slimming World and it works for me. To properly count as others have said you need to ensure you are weighing the food and getting the precise number, more so than when working out syns.

Yes, getting the same. It logs correctly in the app but it doesn't sync to the server and the updates are not online.
