The problem is that you can be at a low weight but have a high body fat % which means you have very little lean body mass. Which isn't good as we age. My mother is only 100lbs- sometimes drops lower as she has a very small appetite. She did a full physical with body pod fat testing and she had 29% body fat. She's been…

I too suffer from depression (atypical) and have so far avoided medication. I was unemployed for almost a year and didn't find that my depression was affected by staying home. I tried to workout and maintain set meal times. I suspect it's a very individual thing though because I sometimes get bad bouts of depression in the…

Wow! The change in your arms is incredible and you've even got the 'V' in the lower abdomen . Great work in such a short amount of time.

My mailman has similar stats. He's doing Power 90, it's P90X 'lite'. You already have free weights so if you want a structured programme you might consider it. Second the Leslie Sansone Walking DVDs. Bob Harper has a couple of great resistance training DVDs, the Biggest Loser series of workouts are also good for beginners.

Yes agreed. Sports store is the way. I have never found a sports bra in a clothing store that deserved the title. In fact most of them have less support than a t-shirt bra. I rotate 2 bras that I found in Modells. One is a Shock Absorber Level 4 , the other is an Under Armour.

That's so me! My exercise is also my 'me time'. I make playlists in advance, I do a little meditation at the end. If I'm going through a rough patch or have something stressful coming up like a job interview or hospital appointment then I love to pop a DVD in and sweat all that tension out. I once had a co worker suggest…

Agree. And 30DS and Insanity together is overkill, counter productive and it's only a matter of time before you burn out.

Optimum Nutrition Whey is a good one. Try the Rocky Road or Double Chocolate. Eat at maintenance and lift heavy!

I was on those for a few months and never gained.

His Inside Out Series is amazing. Cardio Rev and Yoga especially.

When we were in Disney my friend logged these at 380 each. Cannot remember how he got this number but I can tell you that he still lost 3lb during our trip. So his estimation can't have been too off the wall. If there's a recipe on line you could add it here and get the calorie count for one which should be similar to the…

Yes. Love Jillian's DVDs, even though I've done Insanity, Ths Asylum and P90X, Jillian's Butt and Thighs level 2 leaves me crippled!! Bobs Inside Out Method DVDs are the bomb. I got incredible definition in my arms after 30 days of his Cardio Rev and Strength DVD. I also find his yoga better than P90x yoga. P90X is an app…

Thanks for keeping this thread going Heidi. I can relate. When I was 16 my granddad died suddenly of cardiac arrest. He was a late 60s, normal weight, good diet, played squash, mowed lawns in his complex, no symptoms at all. At my cousins graduation he stood up to get a napkin, I passed him one he sat down on a lawn chair…

Jillian explained on her podcast that the covers of DVDs are out of her control. She mentioned she didn't like the 'no more trouble zones' cover because it suggested you could spot reduce but as someone up thread explained the distributors want it to sell. Also on the subject of T25. Shaun Ts husband Scott is in most…

Hadn't looked at your diary but the Diet is bad, if you want to get over fatigue it will be 80% diet and 20% exercise. Processed food, candy bars, Frappes, ice-cream have to go. You can either eat crap or feel good. Maybe not what you want to hear but as someone once said - 'the truth will set you free, but first it will…

How did this come on you, was it sudden, after an illness/virus? Any pain in the body? Have you had bloodwork? Any deficiencies? Do you have any issues with orthostatic hypotension - changing body position causing changes in blood pressure - because that may cause the near blackout sensation. How's the heartrate? Has this…

Oh gosh! I remember reading at the time of the summer Olympics that women in some countries are still prohibited from sports for this very reason. I was shocked that people could have so little knowledge of the female body. Guess those myths are more prevalent than I thought. I do mostly sprint work, the occasional 5k and…

Hello. I had GF last March (2013) and I hate to tell you but I'm still having problems. I am pretty sure I got some post viral syndrome , doc agrees but there's no specific test, still have muscle pains and tiredness. Hopefully, you will recover quicker but do know the virus which causes GF is called Epstein Barr and can…

Yep he sounds much better now! Lol! I too hate the alpha-beta thing but your first description made him sound so one dimentional (to me), that I couldn't think of a better word- maybe I should have used hyper-masculine. Your new set of adjectives show he really is a shade of grey - kindness , romance being a good spouse…

It's probably a lost in translation sort of thing but that description does your hubby no favors. It's very important to know when to avoid confrontation and to have the confidence to back down when there's good reason to. Your choice of words makes poor hubby seem like a cartoon character 'alpha' male. Lol! It's the…
