  • Hehe, just finding regular milk recently has been a challenge never mind almond milk. Recently moved to Germany and don't speak the language yet. I'm learning though and keeping an eye out for things so will bear this in mind, thanks.
  • The amount of sugar in milk. If I have cereal for breakfast I struggle to stay under my sugar allowance for the day. And I love milk :frown:
  • They also have one that supposedly supresses your appetite. You're supposed to drink a 500ml bottle before each meal and it stops you eating as much. Water does just the same.
  • Oh I used to eat them at work now and then, just saying I found them far from filling and some of them were rather tasteless. Do they still do the ocean pie (or fishermans pie, can't remember what it was called)? That one was REALLY nice!
  • This. Maybe I'm just greedy but I find I'm still hungry after a WW ready meal.
  • Try walking to the shops or something rather than just randomly going for a walk, if you have a destination it tends to be less boring I find. Hope you have a quick recovery!
  • I've not completely cut anything out but soft drinks are now an occasional treat, not something I drink all the time.
  • Well this being unable to drive business and the shops being a 20 minute walk away better pay off! Yesterday I walked to the doctors and back. Just over an hours worth of walking. Today I walked most of the way down to get my dog licensed (hubby dropped me part way on his way to work) and all the way back. About 50 minutes…
  • 8lbs is NOT nothing, 8lbs is 2lbs a week lost which is a healthy amount. Plus you lost inches.
  • I'd rather see inches go than pounds to be honest. The fact you can now get into a pair of trousers you couldn't a few weeks ago means you've lost inches no matter what the scale says. That's why I take measurements and don't just weigh.
  • Right now I need someone to tell me "put the chocolatey gingerbready things down fatty!" I'm not having a good day :grumble: Come on someone, yell it at me. I don't mind the comments like "Never mind, you'll make your goal tomorrow" or "tomorrows a new day" when I've had a bad day. Nor do I mind the "Nice diary" comments…
  • Lol, "put down the cookies fatty!" would probably work best for me. I have no objections if people want to comment on my diary. Anyone doing so needs to realise that I'm aiming to go over the 1200 it's set for though. Anything up to 1600 is good. I'd be annoyed if someone kept ranting at me for not doing low carb or for…
  • Well I suppose if that's literally ALL you ate you'd have to eat mountains of it to gain weight. I don't imagine it would be a very healthy diet though. The whole don't eat after X time at night makes me laugh. I lost 40lbs while working shifts and I ate at some weird and wonderful times. Logging food got a bit confusing…
  • Awesome chart. Thank you for putting the challenge together and making us an awesome chart to go with it :flowerforyou: I'm Sarah, 28 and really need to lose weight for medical reasons. My blood pressure is high and I'm in danger of becoming diabetic. Not to mention how much I struggle just walking around. I gained 80lbs…
  • I want to be able to walk past all these super fit squaddies without feeling like I'm about a billion feet wide and have 50 chins.
  • Because MFP already calculates in a calorie deficit for you. Exercising makes that deficit bigger, make it too big and your body will start to hold on to everything.
  • I did weight watchers a few years ago. I lost around 40lbs on it. We didn't have to stand up and speak about ourselves either, we weighed in in a way that nobody else could see the scales and then sat and listened to the leader speak. I enjoyed going and would certainly go to a weight loss group again if I could find one.
  • Does he have the dreaded Dire Rear or is it just normal poop? How is he in himself? If mines got the squits I skip his next meal and then starting with the one after that give him chicken and rice or chicken and mashed potato for a few days. If it goes on longer than a couple of days I head to the vets. Ruperts is usually…
  • 1200 isn't high, 1200 is the minimum recommended calories a woman should be eating a day. Many people find they need to eat more than that.
  • Yup, this is why I don't count my dogs usual walks, it's not exercise for me as I just potter along while he runs and rolls etc. If I decide to go for a walk and take him along though he's on a regular leash and walks with me at a fairly brisk (for me, I'd have to sprint for it to be brisk for him!) pace with just the…
  • Clean the house, cook 99% of the meals, walk the dog, do most of the shopping, remind hubby of things he needs to do, listen to hubby rant after a hard day at work and any other household stuff that needs doing. I'm currently unemployed.
  • I don't count walking the dog unless I do anything beyond what I'd normally do. So walks around the block I don't count, me mooching around while he runs around and does doggy things I don't count. A 40 minute on leash walk at a brisk pace I do count though because it's not an every day thing and gets my heart rate up…
  • Any particular reason you can't go out when the weathers bad? I'm out regardless of weather, can't be doing with being cooped up indoors all day. I don't mind walking in the rain as long as I've not got to walk somewhere then sit in wet clothes for ages.
  • When I did Weight Watchers I'd have the occasional blow out at weekend and it never showed on the weigh in on Monday, I'd often lose in fact. However, most of the time I'd end up staying the same weight at the following weeks weigh in despite being really good to make up for the blow out.
  • I'd have to agree with this. You're eating nowhere near enough. Also, I don't know how tall you are but 85lbs is a REALLY low goal weight unless you're absolutely tiny.
  • Normal for me, my family call me Leaky :grumble: I've been like it all my life apparently, it's not diabetes in my case. I have to not drink anything for about 2 hours before I go out.
  • Only if you use the same phone/sim/contract you use in America. If the OP has a phone on a German network it's not going to cost the earth. Hubby and I are changing to German ones for that very reason. British military don't pick up the cost of phone bills or anything like that unfortunately.
  • I'm also in Germany and having problems finding things in the database too. My German is terrible which doesn't help (only been here 3 weeks).
  • Between 1200 and 1600 normally. 1200 is what MFP gives me to lose 2lbs a week, 1600 to lose 1lb a week so I figure if I'm between the 2 I'll lose weight.
  • To stay away from the junk food To walk at least 30 minutes each day To find out how I go about joining the gym here
