  • I wasn't offended by the OP, I just don't want to live my life worrying about every single thing I put into my mouth. I want to be able to go out for a meal without thinking about whether something has this that or the other in it. I'm well aware that some of what I eat isn't good for me but it's not going to stop me…
  • I think I'm going to have nightmares about birds in monkey suits with hot pants and bikini tops over the monkey suit now :noway: Seriously, why does it matter whether someone has a photo of themself on their own, themself with friends, a pet, a random picture of something they like or no picture at all? And no way am I…
  • I'm off to Pizza Hut next week so obviously my answer would have to be yes. A treat now and then isn't going to cause the world to end
  • Okay, it IS more expensive to eat organic. Or it is here anyway. I just hopped onto tescos website and put in our weekly shop exchanging things for organic where possible. My food bill more than doubled! I buy my meat at the local butcher, I bake a lot of my own bread and cakes, I buy free range eggs and I do my best not…
  • Life is for living and I'm afraid I'm not going to constantly worry about whether every single thing I put into my body is perfectly healthy. I've been around people who are like that and I do NOT want to live like that. As long as I make healthy choices almost all the time I don't see a problem with eating out or having…
  • Ah but she seemed to be using it as a food substitute, she was only taking in something like 350 calories a day. Even if it does make you store fat nobody eating that little is going to be anything but stick thin.
  • I'd have to agree with this. I find the taste as you drink it bad enough, the aftertaste it leaves is evil. I've no problem with other people drinking it but I'll stick to my normal cokes when I do drink soda. Oh, and we do have Mountain Dew in the UK. We had it years ago when I was a kid but then they seemed to stop doing…
  • I do the same sort of thing. I have one day a week where I don't worry too much about what I'm eating. It worked for me losing weight last time and I found it really easy to maintain a healthy weight this way (my weight gain was due to medication, I started gaining 2-4lbs a week when I went on them, even when eating the…
  • Same thing here. I did WW a few years ago and had the same problem. Even now I'll look at a serving of something and thing "wow, that looks like nothing!". I think we're all just so used to oversized servings that it's difficult to see that we're over eating without actually weighing or measuring our portions.
  • If you're not measuring your food it could well be that you're eating more than you think. A single portion of something is usually quite a bit smaller than people think.
  • I find if I eat something salty like bacon for breakfast then I'm horribly thirsty all day. If it's only started today I wouldn't worry about it but if it carries on I'd go see a doctor.
  • I'd also guess that you're not eating enough if you don't exceed 1200 calories. Try upping your calories and see what happens.
  • Healthy food can be delicious too. I don't understand why you seem to think you can't eat meat, bread, dairy products and soup. What's wrong with those things? There is sooooo much you can do with a chicken breast that served with potatoes or pasta or rice or even a salad (blech! I hate salad) makes a lovely meal. I'm sure…
  • People who say "I thought you were on a diet?" every time I eat something they consider to be off limits. Or those who say "oh my god are you eating AGAIN???" Haven't had it this time round as I barely see anyone but last time was a nightmare. My job at the time involved at least 6 hours of walking a day so of course I was…
  • Looking back over your diary there are quite a few days you're not eating 1200 calories. How much have you set MFP to have you losing a week? If it's only giving you 1200 calories a day then it could be you need more than that and changing from say 2lb a week to 1lb a week will give you more calories to eat.
  • Half a pound off is half a pound off, what is there to be disappointed about? Your signature says you have less than 20lbs to lose, you can't really expect to lose weight at the same rate as someone who has say 100lbs to lose, it generally gets slower the closer you are to goal. Chances are there will also be weeks you…
  • Rammstein (Feuer Frei always seems a great one to get me started) Korpiklaani Alestorm (although I still maintain the lead singer doesn't look piratey enough!) Eisbrecher - Schwarze Witwe Triple H and Kanes entrance music. And a ton of others, I just have them all on shuffle.
  • I've never been one for snacking in between meals. I have 3-4 meals a day and if I do have an apple or something it's right after a meal. I don't find I need anything between my meals so why eat if I'm not hungry?
  • Packed lunch would be my recommendation too if possible. If not then Tuesday I'd go for the carvery, I have roast beef, yorkshire puddings and all that for Sunday dinner and it doesn't work out too bad. Wednesday I'd be going hungry because I don't actually like anything that's on the menu lol.
  • Probably just normal weight fluctuation. You don't need to cheat for it to fluctuate a bit.
  • I have to save some calories to allow myself something to eat around 10pm because otherwise I am so hungry I can't sleep. If you're not hungry and just snacking out of habit then finding something to do with your hands is really helpful. Cross stitch is what keeps me from snacking while watching movies. I find it keeps my…
  • I weighed 140lbs 5 years ago and was happy there but wouldn't have minded losing a little more so I set my goat for 130lbs. I think at 140lbs I'll still be classed as overweight but I was happy at that weight so if I don't make it to 130 then so be it.
  • As far as I'm concerned if I drink it then it counts towards my water. I wouldn't count soup as I consider that a food but juice and tea I count when I drink them. If it's not water unless it's plain then I don't drink ANY water because I can't stand the taste of it.
  • You've not failed. I ate lasagne the other night only to find out when I logged my calories that that one meal was more calories than I'm supposed to have in a whole day. I shrugged it off and got back on track the next day. It's not the end of the world
  • I had a friend who was constantly looking for a girlfriend. Really, really nice guy, would have made a wonderful boyfriend in all honesty but he just came across as being really desperate and that was REALLY off putting for anyone female. Last time I heard from him he was still single. Don't worry about it too much, focus…
  • I weigh on Mondays as it helps me stay on track over the weekend.
  • Yeah, this is the biggest issue I have too. Don't mind having to go to the toilet every 15-20 minutes while I'm home but when I'm out somewhere it's quite often just not possible. I make sure not to drink anything for at least an hour before going out now.
  • I'm considering moving in to the bathroom on a permanent basis :frown: I'm in there about every 10-15 minutes. I'm also waking up at least 5 times in the night to go pee. 4 weeks in my body has shown no sign of adjusting.
  • Lol, join some canine forums, you soon stop being offended or disgusted by stuff like this  Anyway, congrats on your NSV. The exercise you're doing could be helping as much as the diet in getting things moving. Whatever it is I hope it continues for you
  • Just wear a pair of shorts or something light, shouldn't affect your weight much if at all. I don't see how it's bizarre either, I found having to weigh in in front of a group of people at weight watchers kept me on track a lot better than a solitary weigh in at home and I don't really see how this is different.
