  • <wail> 245 calories is a snack??? It's most of a meal's worth for me. Tis lush though. It's my default breakfast of choice
  • WTS. Run twice a day when running once is too easy for you, not still quite hard.
  • By living in London.
  • I have friends use a long piece of muslin when it's warmer? Granted we don't have your kind of heat over here but mine seemed to cope better with our hot days with increased skin to skin contact. Veeery sweaty for me, but seemed to help them stablise their temperatures. I'm certain your activity level isn't sedentary. I've…
  • Probably because like most primates, we are carry mammals, meaning that babies are hardwired to find touch and closeness relaxing, and can find being put down & left as stressful as being tiger bait. To the OP - do you have a sling? Absolute lifesaver for high contact babies. You'll need a stretchy wrap sling like a moby /…
  • Depending how strong you normally are, you may find 30 Day Shred hard enough with a couple of tins of beans. I certainly did for the first few days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pc-NizMgg8
  • THIS. Totally. in my 30s I grew into my skin. I would hate to be 20something again. awful time. 30s are smooth (Also I just got ID buying wine today. they're supposed to ask if you look under 25. Ha! Add a decade and then some)
  • WEES. See your doctor, then modify the programme to start with. What abut 10 seconds run / 10 seconds walk x10, then increase 5 seconds to each interval when you feel ready. The whole idea of C25k is to ease you in. Start slower if you need to.
  • I thought I hated exercise. Turns out I just hated classes and the gym. C25k made me a runner. Love running. If you're injured, can you start with walking?
  • Was a massive Nay until I started C25k in March. Once I got to the 20 min runs it was amazing . Even a bad run is better than not running.
  • Like most things, I prefer going for the good stuff, but less often. Lower calorie substitutes make me resent the whole programme and make me miserable. The only trouble is moderation with wine!
  • Agree. very obvious significant difference. Even considering the first picture is front on and the 2nd is side on. Bet the difference between 2 side on pics would be even more noticeable. Well done on your hard work
  • Wow, you can really see the work you put in. Well done!
  • Of course. He goes to the supermarket too. We need to eat/. He's part of the we. <shrug> Also I can take the bins out too sometimes. It's crazy how we live.
  • Have you seen this site? I find it quite useful to work out where I am vs where I want to be. http://www.mybodygallery.com/index.html
  • I'm not sure that was great advice. I have children. I've had a nanny. I can't think of any questions I asked the prospective nannies that would be appropriate to ask a PT (Would you pick me up & cuddle me if I cry? What about tantrums? Biting and hitting? Bedtimes?)
  • They still add sweeteners (in the UK) to "No Added Sugar" items Also multigrain = different types of ultra refined flour. Pretending to be wholegrain
  • Sorry but that seems wrong on so many levels
  • Nothing. There are no acceptable alternatives. There are only pale imitations that make me resentful and then crave the real deal. I save them up for times that they're worth it. Sometimes when I have them again, my tastebuds have changed so that what was delicious is now too salty / fatty / sugary. Sometimes still amazing…
  • It's what this madman is doing is fast food outlets in London http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcQ1VRd_LBk&feature=player_embedded Burpees start about 2.10 (also <cough> purdy to watch)
  • Absolutely. It's why I run. Not for weightloss, or for improving my heart / lungs legs. I run because I my shoulders drop 3" every time I run. Nothing else unwraps them from up round my ears like a good run.
  • I eat after the school run. I don't manage well eating straight away and mornings are too stressful herding everyone out of the house to have a relaxing breakfast
  • Depending on the weather, I've not needed anything for under an hour, but I'm in the overcast UK at the moment, 20C. I hate carrying things. I just drink a large glass about 1/2 hr before I head out. Any more or any longer before a run and I need to let some out again....
  • I wouldn't wear cotton in the rain, it's be heavy & miserable v fast, not to mention chafey. Go to JD Sports / Sports Direct & get some running leggings / shorts and a breathable top. They sell their own brand Karrimor v cheaply & also Nike etc. Also I've found a good range in TK Maxx.. I think I'm going to have to invest…
  • I'm in London. We eat like this. Not everyday but certainly at weekends a Good Lunch is key. I like eating. I like cooking. That's why I'm here.
  • It's amazing how fast the body adapts to small increases with running, isn't it? It stacks up so quickly and suddenly you're running distances and for times you would have laughed at a few weeks / months ago
  • Nothing. It's good for the taste buds to have something neutral. Stops you getting into a spiral of adding more & more flavours. Also helps you realise how much salt & sugar in most commercial foods. You pick up more subtle flavours if you give your mouth a chance
  • It has honestly changed my life, which is not something I say lightly. I've got through 30 odd years hating all sports and almost being proud of it. I couldn't run for a bus in February. I am now ITCHING to go for a 'quick' 5k tonight, but am having to resist because I won't be able to do a nice Big Run tmw morning if I…
  • The programme has worked with you so far. It's just the same as the other increases, it's just more frightening to your head. But that's ok because it's your legs & lungs you need for running so your head can shut it. Nice & slow, even if you're barely shuffling. Walk if you absolutely need to and try again next run. Just…
  • I found it helped if I thought of filter coffee / espresso as coffee and those tall sugary, milky drinks with cream as desserts. Grande caramel macchiato? 190-270 calories. That's the same as my whole breakfast. So yes, sometimes I'd have it but that'd be it until lunch. I could have a croissant and an espresso for the…
