Amen.

Thanks - its good to hear from someone who has been there. I was concerned because it was listed as a side effect. I never thought about how being more alert could help with my weight loss journey.

My nutritionist calculates way more protein for me. I think MFP is low.

I dunno - does the stationary cycle work? Probably not - so swimming is the best. Or conducting.

It is an excellent rate. I went off the program for a couple of months so my statistics are skewed but when I regularly keep to my allowed calories I lose around 1 pound every 10 days. If you try to lose faster you might feel deprived and wind up going off the program for good.

Quiche, roast vegetables with poached eggs on them, shrimp or shellfish, breakfast for dinner - waffles, cottage cheese pancakes (a Jane Brody recipe)

Roast vegetables with crumbled sausage, or ham. Celery with peanut butter.

I have a radical suggestion. Go back and look at your goals and see how fast you wanted to lose the weight. If you wanted to try to lose 2 pounds re adjust your goal to lose 1 pound per week. Maybe you aren't eating enough.

Did you eat anything that was salty? Chinese? Highly processed food? Pizza? if so, it may just be water retention due to the salt intake.

I suggest checking with your doctor just to be on the safe side. I didn't get a chance to look at your diary but I wonder are you eating enough protein? My nutritionist changed my mfp diet to include more protein. Are you getting outside every day? If you are in an office job drink enough water to get up every hour or so…

Weekends are hard for me too. I try to save for the weekend and I up my exercise alot on the weekend.

I'm not a doctor but are you taking any vitamins, getting enough exercise, and getting enough sleep? I know life with a 2 year old can be hectic and we always seem to put ourselves last on the priority list. Also, if you live in the upper midwest you might need to get out in the sunshine every day. If it continues you…

I've been stuck at 182 for several weeks but I notice that my pants are quite a bit looser. I think that while we are on a plateau our bodies are readjusting.

My only experience with WW has been that it is far more restrictive calorie wise which leads to rapid weight loss. I have lost a lot rather quickly on WW but gained it back just as quickly. Do both programs allow you the same number of calories?
-
I am but we really didn't get much snow here - 6 inches tops I think.

I have the same problem. First, are you eating all your calories and your exercise calories - if not, start. You will do much better if you eat all your calories. I'm 58 and have been post menopausal since my mid 40's. I lose about 1 pound every 10 or 11 days but when I started - I lost one pound then I went 3 weeks…

Good going - 30 pounds is 6 5lb containers of crisco - if you want to think in terms of volume. You say some days you "feel fat" - I've found at those times that something is usually bothering me about my life and it's not something weight related. Either I'm worried or I'm scared, or I made a huge mistake at work. Do a…

Hahaha, great start to my day. I'm def. trying this - 2 benefits at once, exercise and a clean house. The best kind of multitasking.

I have friends who swear by WW but it's not something I would want to do. I notice that they're constantly focused on their diet, it seems very short term to me. My program here on MFP leaves the decisions up to me. For instance - I occasionally have a piece of pizza and I count it in my daily allotment - but they seem to…

I ride a stationary cycle and it has done wonders for my thighs.

I pre-log my exercise in the morning so that I'm forced to do it when I get home from work. It is really, really effective.

I like making a stir fried pea pods, carrots, mushrooms with a bit of meat (shrimp, chicken, port, or beef) and taking that during the week its good on rice or in a wrap. Or how about a mushroom and cheese quesadillas (make them in the morning and reheat at lunch.

I agree with most everyone on not saying anything. My feeling is you have to love them as they are and wait for them to ask you how you lost your weight. I've been on MFP since September and am losing slowly and steadily and I could lose faster if I didn't have a slice of pizza every week - but I factor it in to my calorie…

That's a good place to start. Rather than distance you might want to consider time. When I started I put on some music and I rode for a verse, rested for a verse, and alternated riding and resting. Also, I didn't push the resistance on the bike I went on the easiest level. It didn't take me long before I was riding 2…

Welcome. I tried to lose weight for 30 years and it never worked. I've been here since September and it is working great. This is the place to be if you want to succeed. All the best to you.

Welcome Amie. I don't think you can screw this up. All of us eat wrong from time to time. We just get up and try again! It's an awesome place hope you enjoy it here.

I second the C25K program. My daughter and I are both on MFP and heavy - she ran a half marathon - she used the C25K program to begin then, when she had completed that she started a half marathon training program. Go for it - you won't be sorry.

Set a new goal. It has been my experience that when we lose; then gain back some of the weight we tend to stay in the mindset that we are experiencing a setback. We get down on ourselves for the slip-up. Make your new starting weight 187 and set a goal of 10-15 pounds - something small enough to be within sight and do-able…

It's true - 10 or 100 it's hard. I have been here since early October and I have lost 9 pounds but I hit a wall between weeks 3 and 7 and didn't lose anything. However, my shape changed dramatically during that time. I'm 58 and my goal is to lose around a pound a week and I've been doing well at it. Today I recorded my…

It's true that diet and exercise is the ideal way to go but your plan will work too and if it works for you that's great. I suggest a Couch to 5K fitness plan for aerobic exercise. It's gradual and is a very do-able plan. Just google C25K.
