  • This new App came at a very interesting time for me. I'm just out of contract with my currect cell phone company and was going this week to renew and pick out a phone that does what the iPhone does. I was leaning toward a Blackberry but maybe I'll re-think.....time to research more because this would be SO handy!
  • Thanks for the warm welcome Tiffany and Jan! I'm looking forward to getting myself back on a healthy schedule and feeling the positive effects again! I guess I better nose around a bit and find some place to get comfortable here. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do!! I just know that 2010 will be the year for me…
  • I used the bags for awhile too but gave up on them. Sometimes they seemed to work well and sometimes they didn't. One thing I noticed about the bananas was the bags would trap a lot of moisture and the skins would get real thin. I also noticed that they didn't work very well after one or two uses. I finally decided to just…
  • Oh that is GENIUS!!! Thanks for the idea! I love deviled eggs, but haven't indulged in a long time. I also just recently started making my hummus with black beans and navy beans instead of garbanzo beans. The protein and fiber are higher and the fat is lower---and it tastes great! Oh yeah...back to the thread topic~~~~~…
  • Wow I didn't know that! All these years I thought it was Van Gogh......yep---learned something new. Yes Kim, welcome again! We hope to see more of you around!!
  • Keiko, I believe that painting is by Vincent Van Gogh and is called "The Scream"...
  • Welcome Kim! :flowerforyou: I'm a relatively new comer myself and I love it here! People are very friendly and the site is very motivating! I was near my goal (10 pounds away) last year at this time myself.....I know it's frustrating. How does 20 pounds creep on so fast anyway?? But, I'm here for the long haul and will…
  • I know one thing I've always noticed with me when trying to lose weight----hunger is my enemy. If I wait too long to eat and start getting to that desperate stage where I just 'have' to have food it's a very dangerous time and can trigger bingeing. I try to never let myself get there. I eat 3 basic meals and healthy snacks…
  • I think that's a very good point! I think my main problem is that I have many, many stresses in my life. Some I can control and some I can't. I think me starting to work out again will help me deal with many of them. The rest I have to keep reminding myself to turn them over.... I commend you for having your binges under…
  • I completely agree with this, and it's incredibly difficult to 'start' managing it. I finally succeeded with 'day one' last night and I'm just ecstatic that I was strong enough to do so. A couple more days like that under my belt and I know it will get easier. I also started a workout routine this week finally and I know…
  • I love it!!! I worked out yesterday morning the first time in a few months, and although I didn't do my full routine I still have been feeling the soreness all day today (mostly abs & obliques). I use it as a reminder to help keep me on track, and I'm actually having trouble winding down tonight because I know I get to do…
  • I finally implemented a reasonable work out schedule into my day. I worked out this morning and it felt SO GOOD to work those muscles and get my heart pumping again! Granted, it was a shortened version of my regular routinedon't want to kill myself the first day back again---but it was still a workout and I will progress…
  • I just wanted to reply and tell you that you inspired me to finally get off my lazy butt as well! I did a shortened version (I haven't worked out in 2 months...figured I better not start off where I left off) of my full routine this morning and I feel great!!! I've come up with a schedule now and it seems to be one I'll be…
  • Way to GO!!!!!!!! The first one is always the hardest....I have yet to accomplish that. Don't be sorry about giving yourself a little praise---you have a lot to be proud of!
  • I know what you mean about being able to fight cravings better after a work out. I never tried working out after dinner but it's a sensible time to schedule it. I have to fit it in somewhere. My only concern is I'm an early riser so I'm wondering if I'll have trouble falling asleep if I work out so close to bed time. I…
  • That's a really good suggestion. Do you have a hard time falling asleep? After I work out I'm usually really cranked up and ready to take on the world.
  • That's a good reminder! I eat a lot of 'stir-fry' type dinners. I noticed recently if I actually budget in the calories for real olive oil instead of trying to get away with spray and chicken stock to save calories I feel much more satisfied afterwards--and it tastes much better. Thanks!!
  • Thank you everyone for your warm welcome! I'm working on learning my way around more and am excited about utilizing the great tools available on this site. I'm sure it will help me keep on track and stick to the healthy lifestyle I need to follow.
