Roasted broccoli is one of my favorite ways to eat this veggie. I got hip to it earlier this year. The cafeteria at my job had roasted broccoli on the salad bar and I decided to add it to my salad for variety. Holy smokes, I was hooked. I actually bought 3lbs of broccoli yesterday just to roast it.

My faves are Manitoba Harvest Hemp 70 and NOW Pea Protein.

1. What body part do you like most about yourself? 2. What body part has improved the most since you've started you journey? 3. What body part needs more work? 1. I like my legs the most. They are naturally nice and shapely. Working out brings out even more definition. 2. My Glutes/Butt are pretty non-existent, but working…

Ramadan Mubarak! I hope everyone has a lovely Eid!!!

Thanks! This gives me a bit of optimism to work with when February (my Bday month) rolls around. At 29, I just recently came to the realization that I am in dire need of a 'self love' journey. Hopefully this will get me on track when 30 gets here!! Woot woot to the 80's babies!!!

Salaam alaikum guys! This will be my first Ramadan in many years due to having health issues (severe anemia). The anemia is still bad, but I'm going to try my best to work with it and not against it, inshallah. Still trying to figure out how I wan tto go about eating plans + fitting in my weight training. We shall see.

Good to know I'm not the only one. My motivation just sucks these days. You'd think my stress levels would encourage me to go workout but they don't..I turn more into a hermit. Anyway, gonna go get it in tomorrow. Yesterday, I used an app for a stopwatch to actually count my 60 sec between sets..I was done with my leg…

I've had a lot going on the past few weeks, stressed and pulled thin. I decided to start this week on Week 7 (I was half assed doing weeks 5 and 6) Question: How long is it taking you all to do a workout? My rest between sets is usually no more than 60 seconds. Sometimes I "cheat" and even do some supersets to speed up the…

I have 38F and nothing holds the girls down like Enell www.enell.com They are a bit pricey as priced over $60, but they hold up for a very long time. Not to mention I can run, jump, roll around and everything without risking pain or discomfort. I also purchased in the past 4 of them off of ebay. They are 'irregular' but…

Thanks, I stuck to the plan as well as I could. The weight was still moderately heavy, so I'm not to disappointed. I have a slight injury I think is trying to erupt in my inner thigh. Gotta start stretching more often and consistently.

Welcome! I've been in this group since May and sadly it's not active at all. I'm going to stick around a little while longer to keep the support there. But, we need some participation ladies. What type of workouts and eating plan do you plan on doing?

Come August I will have been a vegetarian for 2yrs now. You are definately going to notice a difference in yourself. Make sure you eat lots of beans, lentils, tempeh, etc as sources of protein. Don't believe the hype, vegans and vegetarians get plenty of proein!

Today was actually the first day that I mixed it in plain water and drank it while i lifted weights in the gym. Up until this point, I would put it occasionally in my protein shakes, which is counter productive since there is already glutamine in the protein powder (pea protein) So, from here on out I'm going to be more…

Yup, always do weights before cardio. The carbs are needed to give me the energy to finish the weight training. Whatever is left over allows me to burn fat. Also I eat 1-1.5hr before going to workout too.

Right, and that is exactly what happened lol. I slept in on Monday with no regrets!! Today is Leg day, and I'm unsure how to move forward. Today Jamie is pushing towards a higher rep/lower weight regimen. I'm more focused on building shapely muscles, versus the 'toned' look. I dont want to steer to far from her program,…

I'm 5'5. Current weight of right now is 160lbs. I'm not big on what the scale says, but I'd like it to be 140-145lbs. Preferably in a size 5/6

Yeahhh I've OFFICIALLY made it to Phase 2. But, why am I unmotivated to go in to workout today? I should be excited, but I'm not. I'm groggy, and tired. I've only slept maybe 4hr last night and it's raining today. Ugh...Decisions decisions..there is only 1 day off per week during phase 2. I'm feeling like Mondays maybe my…

Juicing is a wonderful healing tool for the body. I've been juicing off/on for about 2yrs. Recently came across a book called Juicing Bible by Pat Crocker. It's phenomenal to say the least. The entire book is based off recipes for juicing, smoothie, and teas based on your ailments. Everything fromacne, aging, cholesterol,…

No interest in a size 2! I'm 5'5 and currently 160lbs. I like how I look right now, but know I could look even more awesome. My goal is 140-145lbs. Once when I worked out really hard I got down to 135lbs. My mom pulled me to the side and was honestly concerned. She wanted me to stop and felt like I was getting to thin. I…

Today was the start of Week 3, Day 1. I enjoyed leg day up until I got to walking lunges. I haven't done any since I was in the army, so I'm thinking my former may have been off. Anyway, after finishing the wide leg stance, it was darn near impossible to lunge. Also, it's 3 sets of 10. So is the 10 lunges per leg??? I only…

I figured I was lactose intolerant. Around age 14. I would have a glass of chocolate milk and immediately have to use the rest room. Of course that didn't stop me. Everyone has different symptoms towards dairy. Cheeses, heavy cream, ice cream usually givesme alot of bloating. What's helped alot over the last 3yrs is rice,…

I noticed the same thing. I gained an interest in figure/fitness around 10yrs ago. I'm a pack rat, so I still have a few of the early 00' issues. Anyway, alot of the models didn't have the huge implants, nor severely top heavy either. On another note, I just seriously started working out again. I'm 160lbs and 38DDD. I'm…

What are you trying to learn? I agree with everyone. Bb.com is an excellent resource

I'm in Dayton, Ohio. I just got on scale today and I'm already down 3lbs. It maybe only water weight, but who knows. Anyway I'm doing Jamie Eason's LiveFit 12 week program on bodybuilding.com. What are you doing for your workouts? How long you been on your journey?

Today is Week 2, Day 2. I made yesterday my cheat filled day. It's supposed to be a cheat MEAL, but I digress. Anyway, got on scale today and I'm 3lbs lighter. I'm more interested in inches lost, but the scale sliding will be motivation for the time being. I'm gonna start taking progress photos in a brand new bikini I…

As salaam alaikum. My name is Shaymaa. I am 29, with no children. Man, am I the only sister who doesn't cover? I'll get there one day inshallah. Oh, I'm looking to lose about 20lbs while building muscle. I am a vegetarian, and have been for almost 2 years. I am learning so much about clean and healthy living. I love it!

Not sure if you're still around but I wanted to mention that the headaches you are experiencing is a former of detox. Your body is trying to heal itself from the processed, sugary, and/or salty snacks. Just continue to drink water, after a couple days, the pain will subside. No need for painkillers, as that too prevents…

So I decided to put some use into my gym membership. I'm doing Jamie Eason's LiveFit 12 week program. I'm at the end of week 1 and I feel awesome! What I really like is that it focuses on strength training and NO cardiovascular the first 4 weeks of the program. Once cardiovascular is allowed, I plan to start running. I am…

"Abs start in the kitchen" -Felicia Romero (figure competitor) There is a reason why fast foods are so much more tasty than clean, healthy foods. They use additives. Preservative etc to wreck havoc on the body. You really have to look at eating healthy as a lifestyle, not a 12 week diet. What is it exactly that you're sick…
