  • Sounds similar to mine.... Oatmeal with frozen blueberries (or raspberries), half a banana, some peanut flour and a packet of sun crystals.....using peanut butter makes it creamier but i love using peanut flour for less calories. I also started adding cinnamon for extra antioxidants!
  • Well, today was day 3 and I started out with Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and almost had myself talked out of doing 6w6p but I DID IT! lol. I did level 1 and felt a little drained by the second round of mountain climbers and side planks, but again...I DID IT! lol. My obliques are sore! ! ! !
  • @sdgirl...I am hoping to get 6w6p in at least 4 times a week piggybacked with my other DVDs or ellptical. I get bored  easy too and that's why I haven't done it completely thru yet either. I found that level 1 felt more like a focused core workout than level 2. Level 2 felt like more cardio. But I think combining…
  • @carrie...how are you liking RI30? I did that one too, but again, not in order, lol. I didn't get enough of a workout from level one so I would do lev 2 followed by lev 1, then I did lev. 3 following with either lev 1 or 2, i didn't really care for lev 4. duck walks!!?? for real?? lol so I completed my workout as planned…
  • I don't eat back the exercise calories b/c the calculations for my week total calories already takes into account that I workout 5 days a week. It already has a deficit including the exercise factored in.
  • I just finished watching it this morning and was sooo looking forward to another cool transformation show....but was sadly disappointed  I was hoping for something more like Jillian Michaels' show that was on for a short time "Losing it w/ Jillian" She really weant into the emotional changes needed to fix the core of…
  • in response to the original question about the protein shakes....it is possible for kids to get too much protein which can be bad for their renal system. stick to natural forms of higher calorie, low sugar additions to his meals and you should be fine. also, if he's been steadily growing on the "curve" i wouldn't worry…
  • yep. chicken will weigh more frozen and less after cooking. the nutritional info is for thawed uncooked. if your unsure, you can always use the nutritional info for cooked chicken instead (as long as it's just plain chicken breast) check out this website.... http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ However...... i was…
  • your 6 yr old child asks you "how many grams does that weigh?" and "how many calories did you burn today, Mommy?"
  • when you cook a new recipe from scratch and then sit down with about 10 packages/containers around you and your computer to "enter a new recipe" .... then you meticulously divide said recipe into your portion sizes before eating
  • Congrats on getting started and good luck. The 30DS is an awesome workout! Just a couple of tips.... stretch MORE than what she does in the DVD after each workout!! You will be sore.....just keep going, by day 5 you will feel better! And don't be afraid of moving to the next level. They are all great! As far as logging....…
  • do you ever work your sternocleidomastoid?
  • I always enter my own recipes and divide them into the portions that it makes for me. that is the only way you will get an accurate result for your own recipe. Others may be entering info from other websites they find that don't give those nutritional values, but they may not be concerned with sugar or cholesterol content…
  • I agree with what everyone else says...plus i use this government website that is the standard for all nutritional info...very accurate for lots of things, but of course things are made differently so the things that are 'recipe' driven may vary.... http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
  • I understand your point and find a lot of misguided advise in the posts sometimes. but i believe the majority of people think they are offering help. and as far as the thread you mentioned... that was one tiny little post out of over 30 who were very supportive and did not make the OP feel as though she was doing something…
  • You look great! Congrats and Happy Birthday!!
  • i mostly use is as a side dish or mixed in with my chicken/fish. i add seasoning to the water while it's cooking. also tried it as a sweet version with cinnamon/brown sugar like a breakfast blend...that was just "okay" though. I plan on trying a recipe i saw on BL for a quinoa/mango/black bean salad...…
  • Lots of great benifits. My favorite is Green tea with mint! I add one packet of sun crystals for a touch of sweetness.
  • same here!! ugh!!! :grumble: less energy to workout as well as bloating and cravings due to TOM, family visiting with lots of homecooked Easter traditions, dipping into the Easter baskets.... not a good combination! But this why I like MFP and the community support we give each other! We are not alone and it helps to hear…
  • well said!
  • there might be a correlation b/w eating more calories of the wrong food and gaining versus eating more calories of the right foods and losing. it's such a balance and it's often difficult to find what works for you. but you know that you are doing the right thing with the workouts, and making better food choices will help.…
  • the majority of her days were less than the recommended 1200. and i still think you are burning more than your HRM estimates doing the shred. you might benifit from increasing your calories to 1200-1400. I know it's hard to wrap your mind around eating more to lose weight, but it does work for a lot of ppl. I stalled out…
  • jmo but Wii Active "more workouts" is THE best if you really want a good workout!
  • the side lunges can mess up your knees if your not in good form. try doing the moves with less "depth" until your muscles supporting your joints get stronger.
  • my hardest part of the day too. i started drinking mint tea after dinner and it helps. some say to brush your teeth right away too.
  • yes you can log that stuff if you are set to a sedentary lifestyle. i sometimes refer to this website/list and then create my own exercise on here based on this.... http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc
  • the 1st HRM I bought (and then returned) had a statement in the instructions that said it was not accurate for estimating calories burned when the HR was below 100... might be the same with yours. what was the total estimated this time with checking your hr more often?
  • can be tricky to find. some stores stock it with the grains/rice, some with gluten-free stuff, some with organic stuff, some with oats/flours. just have to really search the shelves.
