  • This! My daughter has one and loves it. I just bought her another one for Xmas as she has worn out the old one. Expensive but it is the only thing that works well with her very thick hair. It used to take her hours but not now with this iron.
  • Add me to the list of walkers. I started walking 3 and half years ago and lost 50 lbs. Pigging out on a cruise and eating a bit too much resulted in me going up a few pounds but I have since lost the cruise weight and I am back on my way to my goal weight. I prefer walking to running because I rather not wreck my knees at…
  • Just accept that it happened and move on. Get back to eating and exercising properly and this week will be just a bad memory. No point beating yourself up over it. We all have bad days or weeks.
  • I am another one that really didn't like the taste of plain water. When I switched over from drinking juice and milk, I started adding juice from half a slice of lemon and that made a huge difference in the taste. I still add lemon if I am drinking plain water but otherwise, I drink green tea or I add the Lemonade Crystal…
  • You have a very similar profile to mine. Total Cholesterol: 284.9 LDL: 191 HDL: 77.3 Triglycerides: 83.2 Ratio: 3.7 (I had to convert from the units we use in Canada to those of the US). This is what my naturopath doctor recommended for me to do to lower my LDL even though she felt it really was unnecessary considering my…
  • As a teacher, you know that you can get help with what sounds like agoraphobia. However, if it is not, I can tell you that I went on a cruise this summer and gained 12 lbs in two weeks. Do I regret eating what I did? No way and I knew that the scale would be higher when I got home. I didn't expect 12 lbs though. I just…
  • I feel so bad for you. I am also a pet lover (3 cats, 3 dogs, fish and a rabbit for now) and I know what it is like to lose a pet. All of my pets have been special and it is never easy to let them go. I hope that with time, you will be able to look back with fond memories and not that sick feeling that you have right now…
  • Yes you can! Plug your ears to the negative comments because it seems that the more we change, the more people fight you on that change. Do it for yourself, not someone else! By the way, congrats on reaching 165 lbs. That is a huge accomplishment!
  • It takes like a winter squash to me. The one thing to know is to not overcook it. It goes all mushy and you might as well be dealing with any winter squash by then. (Don't ask me how I know as I am glaring at my hubby)
  • Red Lobster for sure or if you have one close, Biaggi's has awesome food!
  • Great job! You look fabulous!
  • Thanks. I have read those and done my own calculations. I was hoping that someone would calculate and I would see if what I am doing is right.
  • Bump in case truushot finds the time and the inclination to respond to us. =)
  • Awesome job!!! You look fantastic!
  • ^^^What she said!^^^^ I believe you have a time bomb on your hands and you need to deal with it right away. This is from someone who has trained and shown dogs for many years.
  • Weak, shaky, nauseous are signs of low blood sugar. You are probably not eating enough.
  • The Yaktrax coils apparently break down very quickly. You need something with the little spikes sticking out from the rubber. The spikes are replaceable but you can usually get a couple of winters out of them. As well make sure that the ones you get go over the whole front of your foot as the cheaper ones only go over the…
  • Can you do one more? Height - 5'5" Weight - 148.4 as of this morning (Scale seems to go up and down 2 lbs) Goal weight - 135 or so. Looking for about 22% body fat. Waist - 31.5 Wrist - 6.375 Hips - 40 Forearm - 9.5 Neck - 13.5 Calf - 14.5 Thigh - 22 Activity - Sedentary (Retired so I sit on my butt and spend a lot of time…
  • I agree with this. There are a number of studies out there that say that people who get enough sleep per night tend to be lighter than those who don't. It has something to do hormones influencing appetite. Here is a link to WebMD for those who are interested in reading about it:…
  • ^^^^ This. You have an active ED and you need support from a doctor and therapists to get to a normal eating pattern. You are damaging your body right now (although you probably know this already). Remember that you are a valuable and special person and you deserve the best! Please get some help!
  • We are both gourmet cooks but the hubby does the daily meals. =)
  • Awesome! Keep up the good work!
  • What is that in total calories? I didn't add them up but it doesn't seem like enough food.
  • Northwestern Ontario (The Great White North) ;)
  • According to my doctor, it was because the people were overdosing the calcium by taking a full daily dose in supplement form in addition to what they were getting in food. She told me to figure out what I got in food and then "top up" at the end of the day to get 1200 to 1500 mg per day. My supplements: Omega-3 Fish Oil…
  • My favourite is eat it cold stuffed with crab mixed with a little mayo and seasonings. Yum! Now I am hungry. =(
  • All I know is that she takes the pill just before she takes a bite or drink of anything with lactose. It doesn't upset her stomach and she is the kind that any meds will easily upset her stomach. Maybe the timing is key.
  • If you love dairy, buy Lactaid pills extra strength. My daughter is severely lactose intolerant and she loves dairy. The pill work great for her. She hasn't had a reaction in years. I remember the last reaction she had and I don't wish that amount of pain on anyone!
  • Chicken soup and a hot toddy!
  • This sounds disgusting but a friend swore by it. Crushed pineapple mixed with tuna. He was a body builder so I assume he knew what he was doing.
