I put my phone and printer away from my desk so I have to get up to answer it or to get pages from the printer. I also make my daily walk part of my day.

I also make my own bread. I perfected a recipe that makes a 2 lb loaf and I know exactly what goes in it. Here is the recipe if you are interested. Whole Wheat Oatmeal Bread 1 1/2 cups water 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons honey 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons butter, softened 1 2/3 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons…

I use RunKeeper on my iPhone. I don't know if it works with an ipod because I don't know if the ipods have a built in GPS.

Try things on, if they look good, keep them. If they don't , get rid of them. You will learn what is right for you very quickly. Taking a brutally honest friend along when shopping will also help. Don't trust the sales ladies as their business is to make a buck.

Add me to the group who has lost weight through walking. I am down 49 lbs from 4 years ago. I averaged about 20 lbs over the first couple of years and have been struggling for the last 2 years so I joined MFP. Last summer, I went on a cruise and gained 12 lbs so I had to get serious about counting calories. I have lost the…

Okay, I am not 5'3" but I am 5'5" and 54 years old. Being of French decent, I love food and food is a great pleasure in my life. That being said, over my 40s, I went from 144 to about 190 lbs. The weight just crept on slowly, year after year. Four years ago, I got on the scale and realized that I was 10 lbs away from…

49 calories for one cup cooked is what I found on Google.

I was developing bruises from Omega 3 Fish Oils and my doctor said that upping my intake of Vitamin C will reduce the bruising. it worked for me. I only bruise now when I really hit something and it would be a legitimate bruise.

From two 11 year olds in the vice principal's office who were trying to beat the system (They wanted to play games on the computers at school as opposed to using them for educational purposes and unfortunately for them, they had previously signed an agreement to this effect.): We've been thwarted!!! I burst out laughing…

Do Pilates. It will help you improve your core which will help with balance.

I have one of those. I had lost 20 lbs and my mother pats my stomach and says to me: "Well you haven't lost that". Turned out much later that my enlarged tummy was due to fibroids. Still....

Can you walk? I walk and even though I have cellulite too, my legs look pretty good (even though I am 54).

5'5" CW 141 pounds Pant size 6 and some 8 (although they are getting big on me) I shake my head at the size 6 because 25 years ago, I was the same size I am now and I was wearing size 12 to 14. I had to go down to 127 to wear a size 10. There was no way I could even begin to squeeze into a size 8. Unreal how vanity sizing…

I use RunKeeper. I wish it would sink with MFP though.

Did you change any of the other parameters? Because I would think that you would end up with less calories, not more if you are really an inch shorter.

You are putting your body into starvation mode. I am the same height as you and a lot older and I am losing a steady .5 pound per week on 1500 calories per day and a daily walk on most days of the week. I walk about an hour and a half and burn about 420 calories when I do walk. Over the past 3 and half years, I am down 49…

Losing/loosing drives me nuts! The other one is breath and breathe. Breathe is the verb, breath is the noun. I am glad someone mentioned the their, they're and there. Sorry can't help it when you have been a teacher for 32 years!

I love butter and I use it occasionally. When I do, I make sure it is included in my calorie count. Often I skip the butter because it isn't really necessary to what I am eating and it just adds calories. A bit of butter won't kill you but olive oil is definitely better health-wise.

The days I don't exercise, I try to eat about 200 calories less to compensate for the lack of exercise.

I keep walking although I haven't been very good with that the last couple of weeks due to work being nuts (I am retired but doing a long term occasional). I normally walk for an hour and half a day and longer on the weekends. I eat 1500 calories a day and I have been losing a half pound a week. I have been in menopause…

I started walking with a friend 3 and half years ago and am down a total of 48 lbs. Initially, I just cut back on my portions, got rid of the juice and milk I was drinking and stayed away from chocolate. I hit lots of plateaus along the way, had a surgery that put any exercise but walking on the back burner (not sure you…

I had one and traded it in a year ago for an Acura RDX. I loved, loved, loved, loved my Acura RSX type S! I like the SUV I have now but I really miss my RSX. Did I say I loved that car!!!

I have a different point of view. I wish I could lose more. I have always had lots up top and continue to do so even with being almost 50 lbs down.
-
A lot of people don't recognize me or gawk when they realize they know me. I never thought I would get such a reaction.
-
I just want to encourage you that you can lose the weight. I have lost almost 50 pounds during peri and post menopause. The key for me was walking. I started with 5 km a day and built up to anywhere from 8 to 12 km daily. Of course, there are days i can't fit it in but I walk at least 5 days out of the week. It did get…

I am losing just over a 1/2 pound each week so it is working for me! I can't remember when I switched over but it has been more than 4 weeks. PS. I just checked. I have been doing this for 2 months.

It is the tips for the steward, the waiters, entertainers and so on all rolled into one. They come to about $11-13 per day per person if I remember right.

They charge for pop or soda or carbonated drinks or whatever you call the fizzy drinks where you are. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juices are available all the time at no cost. We went on a Carnival cruise this past summer and had a wonderful time. The cruise we took was in Europe so we did book the tours through…
