Well, if I am not "hot", I wonder what the heck the electrician was looking at when he had his jaw hanging on the floor and kept looking me up and down. I know I am almost 50 lbs down from when he saw me last but I sure got a reaction out of him when he realized who I was. Not bad for someone who is 54! =D

Thank you! Drives me nuts when I see that and the other is breath and breathe. The first is a noun and the other is a verb.

The pulling is scarring that holds the tissues together. The best thing is to massage it to soften the tissues and loosen up the scarring.

Low cal and nutrient dense.

I hear you! I went to Montana's today for lunch and had a hard time finding something decent to eat. They did not have a calorie count and only two dishes were deemed healthy choices. I picked the apple pecan salad and it turned out to be a good thing. And the salad was delicious but I was stressing until I chose the salad.

If you make a huge salad of fresh veggies, you will be surprised at how full you feel and you will have used up very few calories. Adding chickpeas, eggs and chia seeds to it with help with the protein part of it. You can even add a grilled chicken breast if you wish. I hope this helps.

I love it!!! Good job!

Walking! Going to the gym toned me but walking is what gets the weight off of me.

Bubbles aka Michael Bublé. I CAN'T STAND his wailing away! Makes me want to kill if hubby is listening to him in the car.

Your TDEE must be calculated with what you normally spend in terms of energy in a day or averaged over a week. There are some calculators out there that will figure out in a more detailed fashion what you do daily in terms of activity and include the exercise you commit yourself to doing. The 20% reduction is based on that…

You said your TDEE was 2236 with exercise so that is what the others are using for the calculations. Yes, you could just eat 1200 and not exercise... that is up to you but then your TDEE would not be the same number without the exercise. It would then be 1700. As to being argumentative, using the TDEE is not following…

Since you say you have been here a while, you know that there are two ways of looking at this. MFP expects you to be exercising and eating those calories back and you said yourself that you know eventually you are going to stall because you are eating too little, especially if you aren't eating your exercise calories back.…

I agree with all of the above and just want to add one more thing. Don't bring hubby when shopping! It will save you a lot of stress! Then you can make the meals you both enjoy but with healthy and lower calorie ingredients.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Vanilla was not great. I am going to give my container to the friend who recommended it.

Age 54 Height 5'5" SW 190 (3 and half years ago) CW 142.4 GW 135 Total Calories per Day 1500 If I don't exercise, I try to eat a bit less that day. The weight is coming off slowly but steadily at about a half pound a week or less since I got to within 10 lbs of my goal weight. I really have to stick to calorie counting at…

Put in lots of veggies and keep the amount of fat you put into it down. Using some of the pasta water as part of the sauce will help make your pasta creamy. Also if you use whole wheat penne, the nutrition factor goes up.

We throwing in a whole pile of veggies and herbs that we sauté first in olive oil: Garlic Onions Carrots Peppers (whatever colour you want) Celery Thyme Oregano Seasoning salt Pepper Marjoram Sage Basil Bay leaves Chili peppers or red pepper flakes to taste When all the veggies are soft, I either throw in cut up seasoned…

I agree with portion control. I love food and being French, we live to eat. Food is a huge pleasure in my life so I totally get where you are coming from. I gave up juice and milk and now drink water. I stay away from chocolate in the form of bars and candies. Aside from that, I still eat everything I did before but in…

^^^ This! Do it for yourself!

Raspberries and chia seeds are two more great ways to add to your diet. As mentioned already, something like psyllium husk works well but I prefer Benefiber as it is clear and you can tell it is there. It is also all soluble fiber which is good in lowering your cholesterol if that is an issue.

Muffins and cookies that I bought for the staff meeting. Have you ever looked at the calorie count for one of the muffins at Robin's Donut? I just about died last night when I was looking it up. It made it easier to pass up today.

^^^^ This. I was about to post this but got beaten to it.

There is a bit of a trick to good green tea. First of all, don't use too much of the loose leaf tea if that is what you use. I use the bags, mango green tea is my favourite. Once you boil the water, let it sit for a minute or two to cool it down and then steep your tea for one to 3 minutes, no more or it can get bitter.…

Make a walk part of your day. I decided 3 and half years ago to do just that! I was a vice principal at the time and decided to go for my walk from school rather than go home first. Once I get home, the pressures there take over and I didn't want to go out after. So either walk before school, at lunch or right after. I…

The reason the shakes taste bad is because the bag you have has gone bad! I just had the same experience and couldn't figure out what was going on as I had used them in the past. My shakes tasted like milk gone bad. I finally narrowed down to the powder mix. I opened a new bag and my shakes were fine once again. I don't…

Depending on the surgery, you may not want to eat afterwards, or that is what happened to me. Keep tracking your calories and be sure to eat very healthily as your body is going to need those nutrients to heal.

Ohhhh, I LIKE this idea!!!!

2 scoops Visalus powder (using up what I have right now) 3/4 c. Raspberries 3/4 c. Other fruit 1 tbsp chia seeds 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 313 calories today when I used mango as "other fruit". Mangoes are high calorie so you could go lower with another fruit.

I am 5'5" too. Started at 190, have lost 46 pounds over the last 3 and half years and although I have reached my first goal (144), I would like to lose another 9 for now. The last 10 to 20 pounds seem to be the hardest to lose so that is why I came to MFP. I am also 54 years old and it doesn't get any easier losing the…

Getting on the scale and realizing that if I put on 10 more pounds, I would be hitting 200 pounds.
