This makes big sense to me. As I move towards maintenance I realised that I have been on a food plan that I like and find satisfying - so why throw it out. I am using the extra cals for foods that I like/treats. I also like routine - so eating similar or same foods work for me with treats on top for the extra cals.

I have been lurking around threads on MFP SL 5x5 - even signed up for the emails from Medhi - which are great. I plan to try it out when I finish the weight loss phase and into maintenance. Great results - I am really motivated by the increase in weight lifted. I got the programme spreadsheet from Medhi and was slightly…

Like others - I am bumping 100 cals per day/week. I am still loosing weight but it has slowed down. Plan to settle around 2,000 cals  Plus eat back 50% of exercise cals and see how it goes.

Ohh this brings back some lovely memories. Step classes - 2 blocks please and no break for 60 mins of stepping. After doing it 3 times a week - you bum and thighs were really firming up. I see there is a step class at gym I have just joined - just 1 session a week. Maybe it will be like fashion - come round every 7 years.

Hi I read your posting and my blood started to boil! How dare they - you are paying your subs like anyone else to use that gym! You know I have never experienced this at the gym - always found everyone too focused on their own workout to care what the person next to them looks like. However there is always the odd ****** ,…

Sounds fun. DL has a reputation for high quality sports centres.

Sidesteel & Sarauk2sf Love their no nonsense direct approach.

Lovely lovely story - keep going. I want to read your story when you get GW.

Love the way you took control - keep going!

+2 I got to agree with Steph - you simply have to get into a routine. Some nights I have got back home late and I don't want to do my kettle bell workout but I just get my trainers on and simply get on with it. It's raining and I don't want to go for my walk - shame I gotta put on my plastic mac and do it or do swop and do…

Just gorgeous - you must be so pleased and proud!

What a lovely story - you look great!

Hi I am age 51, 5ft 8 ins tall, lightly active - Fitbit target 10,000 steps daily, 3 power walks a week, plus 3 kettle bell workouts. Otherwise I am reasonably active around the house and gardens. MFP says 2,140 net cals a week and I seem use 2,500 on Fitbit. I am building up slowly and would like to settle around 2,000…

Nice work!

Like it - when I feel a bit down I love reading these stories.

I have a found more pounds to go but nearly there. I look forward to feeling normal, clothes shopping, feeling great in my own skin. Working out on a full cals too - and earning some to eat back too :blushing:

Hi I have used PT sessions over the years with mixed results. I would never use PT to get me into using the general equipment, the gym induction and trainers on duty are there to do that. Once I have a level of fitness - I would 'buy' 6 sessions and agree some targets with the trainer - areas that I want to work etc., Some…

Great work - so inspirational!

Hi Interested in this thread. I am reverse dieting at the moment as I head towards my goal weight. Slowly adding 100 cals per week - I am still loosing but at a slower rate. There is the odd day when I eat more than I planned - but that's what happens in real life. The next day back on plan. Of course if this started to…

Hi I understand the challenges that you are facing - I have been on a career break since Jan 2013 and travelling. Last year we travelled and stayed for extended periods in Italy, Dubai, Oman, Thailand, India then back to London - our home for 2 months. This year we plan Italy again - Florence and Scilly, Dubai, India,…

Boiled and in my handbag. Seriously - I like boiled eggs as a quick protein snack so usually take one with me boiled wrapped in foil with a little salt and pepper. Just great when my energy is flagging and it's time for a snack.

I am interested in tracking this - I have been following the 5x5 stuff with emails from Medhi. So also keen to hear about successes.

Well done - you look great in your gear. Are you doing any exercise that might tone your calves?

Hi I am nearing maintenance - 7lbs to go and already adding back cals. Currently at the rate of 100 cals a day/week and I am still loosing weight. I know the last 7lbs will be slow but I am hoping for a softer landing onto maintenance instead of a shock to the system as you then try to add back in cals. I am eating back…

A medium boiled egg might do the trick - I usually have these as snacks. Easy to take with you on the go.

Hi Well done for reaching maintenance I am looking to reaching that point soon. Personally I would start logging and weighing again. This will help you to get a real focus on what you are eating and when. I have difficulty telling when I am hungry or just thirsty - one way I check is to view my log. All things being normal…

Yummy!

Hi I am 8lbs off goal weight and following the same process increasing my cals per week slowly. I am still loosing weight but expect to level out in the next 6-8 weeks. Interesting I have just started using Fitbit and it estimates my cals should be around 2,500 per day. I look forward to reaching full maintenance. It is…

The weeks when I don't loose or feel bored - I check out the success stories. I just find them so motivating - all overcoming real challenges to loose weight and improve their health. Also I might get a buddy to check my diary, change my exercise routine - somehow I might have gotten bored and not working as hard as I…

Interesting - I can attribute a number of events to big weight gains. 1. a job that I took that involved a long commute by car each day. My car became an extension of the kitchen - stocked up just in case I got caught in traffic. 2. A gift of a set of steak plates - portion sizes were then maxed up to fill the plates. Fast…
