I know BMI has its issues, but.... The scale said 145 this morning, meaning I'm officially in the (very *kitten*-end) NORMAL range for my BMI. First time in 15 years!!! Never going back to Obese again.

Awesome job, lady! Happy for you. :)

Wow, so many ladies on here have done such a fantastic job! I come here every now and again for inspiration when I'm feeling low and it's really helped! So, thank you all! As for me, well, I'm exactly 5'4, 33 years old, and built like my dad (short and stocky). The jacket hides it, but I went from a 49 inch waist…

Age: 33 Height: 5'4 SW: 221 CW: 166.8 GW: 140 I also want to be toned and strong, so I started lifting heavy. Hoping I look great in clothes and at least decent without clothes by the time I hit 140. :)

Unless it's summer and I'm walking outside, I like to be alone. I banish my husband to the bedroom when I'm working out to a DVD or lifting weights in the front room. He doesn't mind. We have a TV in there, an Xbox, and he has his laptop.

Apparently I went from "Holy F***, kill it with fire!" to "Meh. Average" -- actual words from my loving stepbrother. So, here I am! And, yes, we really are a close family.

JnknzxD, I had this problem in January. After I Iost 50 pounds (I just walked and ate under my cals), I kept bouncing between 171 and 170. I lowered my calories from 1400 to 1300 thinking that would help. Did it for three weeks. Nope. I only lost .06 pounds total. I asked around and was told to start lifting and eat more.…

I'm a 33 year old Asian woman who loves to eat white rice at least twice a week (check my diary lol). I can honestly tell you that time of day has no bearing on when you should eat. I had 2 cups of cooked white rice with some spam last night at 8pm (late dinner) and then some fruit at 9:30pm as a snack (was supposed to…

A picture was all it took. To say I was disgusted with myself is putting it mildly. I quickly told myself "enough," and it was.

I use this stuff called "It's a 10." My sister-in-law bought it for me last year. I can't live without it now. I buy it from Sally's. Or you can find it in just about any hair salon. I think Target has it too? Here's a link so you can see what it looks like and what the description says it does.…

Really great information, especially on the lifts - makes sense. I just set my daily goal to BMR (1526). Looking forward to bumping it up even further in the future and having extra strength for lifting! Thanks again.

Hey, Heybales, thanks for replying. As to your questions, my cardio is 30 minutes of my Leslie Sansone 5-mile fat-burning DVD (think walking with aerobics thrown in). I only do up to the 3-mile mark and my HRM says I burn 300 to 325 calories a session. Weights is 1 hour sessions. It's not very much weight right now since I…

I'm thinking I should choose [1-3 hrs/wk of light exercise]. Then my TDEE is 2098 and -15% from that is: 1783. Ok, I will raise my numbers by 100 each week until I hit that or do I have to do my TDEE at 2098 for 8 weeks and then go down to 1783 still?

Oh, thank you! Yes, I was meaning for both MFP settings and outside calculators, because I was thinking about doing Dan's in-place-of-a-roadmap 2.0.

Hi there. If you're new to working out and don't have a lot of space, I would say try Leslie Sansone's 5-Mile Fat Burn walk. It's low impact (good on the knees) and doesn't require much room. If you want to try it out, I found a place on youtube that has it for free. I use a heart-rate monitor to track my calories. Also,…

Age:33 Height: 5'4 SW:221 CW:168 GW: 140 I don't own a gym membership and only paid for the YMCA here twice in 9 months (wanted to use their indoor track because it was raining). I lost 53 pounds with sticking to my daily calories on MFP and walking 3 to 5 miles at least 4 days a week. I do Leslie Sansone Walk-At-Home DVDs…

Awesome story and what a great transformation! I didn't think I could do it either, but, like you, after that first month of eating crow... LOL :drinker: I'm still a work in progress, but you, my friend, give me inspiration. Thanks! :flowerforyou:

For me, having my s/o tell me I need to lose weight is not incentive at all. It's the opposite. My first husband is the direct cause for the start of my weight gain so many years ago. I was 10 pounds heavier than when we met , but still classified as average weight for my height (5'4 130 when we met and 140 after)…

Fan here. I absolutely love Felicia Day. :blushing:

You all look so great and I would love to post in this thread some day. Great motivation. :flowerforyou:

You look great and I am the same way with shorts. Glad you're liking what you're seeing.

I currently do not work or have any kids (just take online college courses), so I generally get between 9 and 10 hours of sleep. Right now, my life is cake. ....MMmmmm, cake.

I'm 5'4 and 169 pounds. I wear a size 12. FYI for comparison, I have no butt (flat-flat-flat!) and carry most of my weight in my stomach and thighs. It really does depend on body composition, because some women may have bigger hips, rounder butts, or thinner thighs.
