Loved your post! There are so many good people on MFP, and yes as with everything human... There is the good with the bad and part of that is the judgmentalism that creeps in also. I so try to not be judgemental and yes, there is a multitude of ways to be successful in weight loss. Would be so nice if those negative traits…

Absolutely... .very often!! In my line of work restaurants are frequent.... Logging ahead tremendously helps me to stay within my daily limit and at the same time... really have foods I enjoy. So any day I know where it will be challenging... I try to log ahead... I may adjust it sometime throughout the day to tweak…

This is YOUR journey. My advice... draw strength from all the people and interactions if you can. For those who are supportive, embrace it! For those who are more, 'toxic', draw strength of your convictions and use that to become stronger. You see, whether it is on here, or in real life... you will always need to deal with…

Eureka!!! She has logged on, and received messages... and was THRILLED... as she stated... makes her feel 'warm anf fuzzy and welcome here'. She is fine, and is as determined as ever to win this thing!!! And yes, for those that feel this was an invasion of privacy, I though ot fhat before posting this. However,…

so inspired by all the support everyone is showing jumpinsticks... thank you.

Thanks so much for educting me on 'bump'. I wish I did have her RL contact info... but sadly, i do not. And yes, there is most certainly always the possiblity of medical reasons.. i'm so hoping not. Previous to this 8-9 day gap in her logging she did have a 3 day gap just before this one and she sent me a message saying…

sorry for my ignorance on these forums... what does 'bump' mean? I've seen a few times and do not know what it means... But thanks very much for reading the post... I'm a bit worried about jumpinsticks...

Great news!!! You recognize that you need to increase your calorie intake. You recognize that you could be harming yourself... and YOU are doing something about it!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Also, you are still at a healthy BMI... so please do not go to low end of healthy BMI just now... perhaps just maintain current weight for…

Welcome and good luck!! You can do it. When I joined MFP I was already very determined and did not join for support from an online community. Just joined to use the tracking tools as I believed (and still do) that I was finally... finally... FINALLY... after 40 years of letting the battle with my weight always get the…

Glad it was of value...

perseverance, belief and stay positive... no matter what.

Water... how much water? Also, noticed you were significantly under in your calories many of the days... Just wondering possibly if the combination of lack of water and perhaps an 'adjusting' metabolism to the low calories may have put you in bit of a plateau. Body is an amazing thing... so many variables. What is pretty…

Be Frank Sinatra and do it YOURRR WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY... Smiling. Just keep YOU as the top priority, walking is so healthy and manage the calories. The rest takes care of itself over time. It really does. At least for me. However getting those three things going has taken me 40 years to achieve. Don't wait as long as I did.…

I was once as you are now... hmmm... feeling like breaking into a cats steven song... Anyway, feel free to add away. I must say the element that has surprised me regarding MFP is the strong sense of community which permeates here. I certainly did not expect it, and most definately appreciate it. Good luck!

wow... thank you for sharing. In reading your post i've see so many parallels from a challenge perspective to when I started 70 days ago. So nice of you to take the time and share your wonderful story. And the results are very obvious in both the joy in the words and the amazing story the pictures tell aso. Very inspiring.

Such wise words, beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.

Don't let the scale control you. I am repeating a post I had written earlier on this topic below. Hope it helps. There is much discussion about this topic and there are many pro's and con's many different approaches. I think it boils down to the ultimate 'nirvana' state which is not letting the scale control you, whatever…

There is no right or wrong answer. There is much discussion about this topic and there are many pro's and con's many different approaches. I think it boils down to the ultimate 'nirvana' state which is not letting the scale control you, whatever weighing routine you go with. You can't let the ups and downs of the scale…

I weigh myself everyday. And OFTEN it fluctuates by pounds either way. I decided that i'm going to face the reality of this cycle and refuse to let it control my emotions and refuse to let my emotions control my (what used to be normal approach of eating my way into contenment or oblivion). It has taken quite a bit of…

Your are right. You do have a lot of weight to lose. Many of us here do and there are so many inspiring stories. There is no 'right or wrong answer' on how to lose that weight and then as importantly, keep it off. It is what works for YOU. I've struggled and battled this, as many of us here, most of my life. It is the…

Very inpsiring!! Congratulations and look forward to your post in another year from now.

Good exchange. Big believer in calories are the core and if you keep them in check you will hit your goals. All the external stuff beyond that does not work for me. However, we are all at different places in the struggle so I ain't judging anyone, and if something seems to work to help people get things under control thats…

All i can tell you is what seems to be working for me. And its real real simple. I stay at or below MFP recommended calorie intake for my goals. I indicate that I do zero exersize each week so that MFP took into consideration the least active i would be when calculating my recommended calorie intake each day. MFP spit out…

Very awesome! Very very inspiring! I'm just at the very beginning stages of my journey and targetting to lose 130lbs. You are so inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
-
Nay ! My perspective is to work on weight reduction first, and be very very gradual regarding ramping up exersize. I started at 130lbs overweight (305lbs) with a goal of 175lbs. My doctor suggested to focus on the calories first and foremost to get the weight under control, then gradually blend in exersize as I feel my…

Yes, I eat what i want but stay within calories. Part of what i love about MFP. What i noticed i have been doing is gravitating towards more balance between fibre/carbs/fat/sugar, etc... I still eat what i want but do try to keep those items reasonably within daily goals in addition to calories. Just think that is…
