I honestly think that it happens because for the first time most of these "young adults" no longer have someone (usually a parent) nagging them 24/7 about "eating properly"....If you can enter college with your own set of self motivating/ good eating habits...you will be waaaaay ahead of the curve!

I've been told that cafeteria food has gotten a whole lot better than it was way back when I was a college freshman...Best suggestions watch snacking while studying and avoid junk food at the local grill...and oh yes don't get in the habit of sleeping through mealtimes.

Typewriters.
-
For me MFP is a great diversion from eating (junk) and a reminder to keep on track with my weight/health goals.
-
Your long term commitment to food logging sucks! It looks like for the last few weeks you may have been logging your food...But prior to that...wow!...lots of nothing. No wonder you are confused.

Peanut butter has been banished permanently...although I am considering PB2.

The road to hell is paved with french fries!

Nevilles, After what you wrote previously...I did make one very important change...I added caffeine (from coffee) to my patient drug list that my doctor routinely wants everybody that he treats to fill out....In the past...that office has been very thorough in making sure that every aspirin, over the counter medication…

Bad idea...it is just too easy to let pounds creep back on to you because you lost track of your real/actual weight. A scale is a tool that you NEED in order to reach your goal...replace it as soon as possible.

Invest in a food steamer...You can get a good one for under $25. Most of the new ones have three layers...which means that you can steam three different entres at one time.... Chicken, vegetables, boiled eggs, rice, etc...You can quickly cook an entire healthy, delicious meal while you study or take care of your family.

Listen..If you are still in doubt then feel free to use this as a reference to what these studies actually mean... http://www.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=5827&page=81.

You need to clean up your logging...do you realize that you first ran into trouble(this stall) when your logging first got sloppy? If you want to stop stalling...then start (consistently) weighing and measuring your food and then (consistently) logging your food in.
-
Is this the same 4lbs loss/stall that you complained about back here? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/566559-increase-exercise-or-continue-to-decrease-calories

I just love how you have now modified your stance to mean only those people who ARE NOT OBESE in the first place...Everybody knows that nine times out of ten on MFP it is usually somebody who is already obese that starts running around screaming about being in "starvation mode" and therefore having to up their calories.…
-
Good luck getting to your healthy weight.
-
"Real" medical research has already been done on this subject..."STARVATION MODE" is about LOW BODY FAT and not LOW CALORIES!
-
The point of logging is to record EVERYTHING that you eat everyday...If he does that...what's the problem?...neatness?
-
I joined in May...and I am a believer! Congratulations on your weight loss...(but ) I'm still waiting for the "starvation mode crowd" to run in here and tell you to eat MORE food because you are just not getting enough calories. lol
-
You have been doing this since January? How much weight have you lost?
-
Listen...There is probably more reason for her NOT to be listening to YOU then there is reason not to listen to the person who you are criticizing....To begin with...You are a 25 year old male and OP is a 54 year old woman!...There is NO way that you can give her the same caloric/ exercise regime as you without courting…
-
According to your food log you have already increased your caloric intake once (ie..by exercising less and then eating back more of your lower intensity exercise calories)...So are you saying that you intend to keep doing more of the same thing (that caused your weight loss stall) and yet you expect to see a different…
-
I think that you are making an excellent point!....In the beginning her exercise was apparently more intense (ie greater burn)...Recently the exercise seems to have become less vigorous but she now seems to be eating back more of her exercise calories than she did in the beginning....(result...weight stall!)
-
They (tomatoes) will do that if you have a tomato allergy...otherwise I would start looking for whatever those tomatoes were being sprayed with or grown in.
-
lol....Men and their cars!
-
That's funny. I sure pity any guy who is stupid enough to ever mess around with your car.
-
What were you doing when you lost the first 20lbs?
-
Do you want to avoid junk food?....Pack your own food. An apple and a couple of boiled eggs recently saved me from eating breakfast muchie snacks on a plane. If you are into protein bars (for example)...then just keep a couple of them handy in your pockets.

I think that your wii plan sounds great!
-
Maybe I'm wrong but...If your Dr was telling you to skip the gym...it doesn't sound like he was interested in seeing you pick up anymore muscle mass...Muscle does not store estrogen in the female body...only fat does that!. Do you have any idea what your current percentage of body fat is? Women athletes often run into this…

Amen to the above advice!!! And NEVER, NEVER, NEVER be afraid to go behind your doctor's back to get another medical opinion from a Dr who specializes in this type condition!
