I might try this when I add carbs back to my diet, but for now I 'll stick with high fat.

It would remove the surface starch but since its made of starches I don't think it would have a significant affect.

I would think that rinsing it would destroy the flavor of the beef. Unless you re-season it after. You would need to re-heat it just to kill what ever bacteria and organisms are in the water. If it works for you that's great, but it sounds like a hassle and kind of nasty.

Why do you have to eat the whole meal? Can't you just have a few bites of each item. Just to try/taste. I've gone to wine and beer tastings. I just have a few sips. Hasn't knocked me out of ketosis yet.

Yes Confit!!! Think of how would poach an egg in water. Granted it probably has mesquite/smoke flavor to it. I wouldn't deep fry it so to speak. Render it to liquid and then in a deep pot/pan submerge something in it and bake it in the oven. I saw something on diners drive ins and dives where they did this with a pork…
