There are some truly nasty vanilla favors out there. If you already are used to the taste of Greek yogurt, then it's probably the powder you chose. You can cover a lot up with spices -- cinnamon and nutmeg are a good combo. A chai spic blend is also delicious. I usually use a little cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cardamom.

Feel free to add me if you like. I'm also told there's a yoga board here (although I haven't looked or it yet) -- there are probably plenty of men on there! We have men in the yoga classes I go to, and one of my favorite instructors is a man -- and this is small-town TX, where "traditional" gender roles seem more firmly…

Yes, please. He's like a non-creepy Jouaqin Phoenix.

Have you sought psychological help? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you sound crazy, or that the addiction isn't real. But the talk about not really being interested in anything else (no hobbies, etc.) is very descriptive of depression. And the killer thing about depression is that it makes everything seem so much…

Woohoo! You did great!

Definitely the second dress for the wedding, but you look great in both! The second is just more appropriate for a wedding and work-related function -- classy.

I have never been to a yoga class where the instructor didn't know who was new and help them out. Also, even when no one is new, the instructors walk through poses in increasing levels of difficulty, and the people who are ready take the pose to the next level; everyone else stays at the easier levels. Yoga is so…

Water & gum, or plan your calories out to leave room for a late-night snack.

I find I prefer the ones that aren't trying to replicate the taste of beef. I figure if you can't mimic beef, embrace the veggies! But morningstar's spicy black bean burgers are good, and even better with a little BBQ sauce. Ha! Never mind, saw you want recipes. I'm interested too...will lurk and see what people post.

I think your response was perfect. If someone else is being rude about it, though, or you don't want to talk about it, you could just say "I'm living healthier these days" and leave it like that.

My calories burned have gone down as I've lost weight. I think that blows.

I have always assumed I had a lot of muscle, because I've always been strong -- like Monica-on-Friends freakishly strong. But we have a bod-pod at work, which is supposed to be the second-most-accurate method of measuring actual body fat percentage (a close second to water immersion)...and it showed me at 34%. 34%!!! And…

I bought an elliptical. A basic one (no electronics) isn't nearly as expensive as you might think, and you can get a lot of that stuff at garage sales, Craig's List, etc. It's not pretty, but I have it out in my living room on a yoga mat. My toddler has learned the yoga mat is her boundary--she can't go on it, so she can…

517 calories by 11:38 am -- just finished lunch. That's a little low for me; I made these cheese-and-kale stuffed mushrooms last night and brought them in to work for lunch today, and they turned out to be WAY more filling than I had anticipated, so I had to stop eating at 194 calories...guess these are better suited for…

This is WONDERFUL. I love it when I work someplace that has exercise facilities and showers. I wish everyone did this!

I pay $39 a month, which includes free (to members) child care. That includes a military discount, which I REALLY appreciate -- but it's pretty reasonable either way because for me, child care is the kicker. I joined because I LOVE going to yoga classes, but none of the yoga studios here have child care (I'm a single…

I love that so many of you have flexible goals based on feeling healthy & fit, rather than a specific number on the scale!!!

5'6", when I was younger, I felt good at about 140. Gained weight in Iraq & never lost it, then another 10 lbs from pregnancy -- up to 165. I'm now back down to 145 (and dropping), but my body fat percentage is too high, so I'm focusing more on that than weight right now. Once I get the body fat percentage down to a…

Ok, I read the link. I'll say you can find studies to support lots of different ways to lose fat. In the end, I go with what makes my body feel healthiest. The benefits of breakfast for me aren't just emotional, habit or hormonal -- I lived that one-meal-a-day lifestyle for years out of habit, and didn't have half the…

Avocado & cumin with egg salad? Interesting...I might have to try that!

If you read her post, she didn't have them. It's not about willpower; it's about your loved ones showing you the respect to not intentionally, repeatedly try to undermine your efforts at self-improvement.

The brown one? Yup, funny. :)

Your "simple" is another person's "isolated from everything I enjoy about life." To each their own.

I love those commercials. :)

Nope--after 12 hours without food, my body needs fuel. Waiting another 6 hours doesn't magically make me healthier.

The difference is that the M&Ms can't jump in the cart without your cooperation, and they don't follow you home and repeatedly shove themselves into your face saying "oh, just have one, what could it hurt?" like her mom is doing.
