  • This is so awesome! We are human! I know very thin people who binge so it isn't just a fat person issue. The best way to deal with it is self love and not self hate.
  • I went cold turkey this time and had zero issues, not even a headache, but I attribute that to quitting gluten and sugar months before hand...and then I had one heck of a time!!! omg. not pretty!!!!
  • It's called low carb flu. It pretty normal, especially if you are cutting out sugar/gluten, you body will go through withdrawals...at least mine did!
  • Awesome feedback!!! Can't wait to try this out. Admittedly I am scared as I have binge eating disorder, but Im not even going to try it until a)I stall or b)I go back to America is September. :)

  • This!! I AM diagnosed and the GP supports low carb/keto eating for me as it helps not only with weight loss but with bloating and water retention. I am able to lose more this way than I am on just a calorie controlled diet. Here on MFP you will come across lots of opinions of people telling you what to do to your body. Do…
  • Yes....but still half way to go so I dont feel I can celebrate just yet! Well done to everyone on this thread!!!!
  • Heh I missed that question! For the first two weeks on LCHF I had the runs! And now things go just fine (codeine use aside). I use most of my carbs for leafy green veg and salad and get more fibre than some carb loving peeps.
  • Thing is...people with insulin problems...carbs just exacerbate hunger. If I eat carbs that are not vegetables or berries I am STARVING at 2000 cals. When I eat low carb I am very satisfied between 1200 and 1800 with no urge at all to eat. THIS is how the low carb diet is superior to ME, it allows me a deficit without…
  • If fat shaming worked I woulda been thin by age 7. If shaming for being different worked I wouldnt have been one of those kids in high school that wore mismatched converse and carried a sesame street lunchpail (it was the 90's!! lol) Instead I have grown up to be a unique adult with piercing and tattoos not giving a flying…
  • I think this is a fantastic way to eat....for me. I am not the type of person to claim to have the answers for everyone, but for me, this is easily sustainable for the long term. I DO eat carbs but you would be surprised how little carb g's you use eating green veg. For me, I have metabolic disorder, PCOS and insulin…
  • This is where I hope to end up. With a balanced semi low carb diet and heavy lifting. Right now though I am sedentary due to disability and super low carb is the best way to reduce weight to fit into BMI charts so I can get my hips replaced. All of the research I have read in the past month about low carbing and ketosis…
  • This x's a million! I have pcos, IR, and binge eating disorder. At the end of the day it IS about calories, but for me a big part in keeping calories under control is keeping cravings far far away and being full. The more carbs I eat, the harder it is to stick to calorie goals. This is not a personality defect, I have…
  • I've been toying with the idea of a refeed once every 2 weeks, but I need to do more research into it. From what I gather, refeeds are useful for those who workout a lot....I don't...yet....so as someone with a lot of fat to shed, I need to work out if it will benefit me or just slow me down. that pic looks amazing btw lol.
  • Egg yolks are yum! I seriously struggle with breakfast myself. I would rather have a creamy coffee and have a brunch meal. Im one of those people who take a couple of hours to wake up and have my wits about me, much less feed myself. My brunches this week have been devilled eggs (sandwich filler, homemade) inside a few…
  • Thanks :) No surgery is not a quick fix at all. I had a sleeve gastrectomy (only the stomach bit) and lost just under 150 quickly but then hit a plateau and then started to GAIN!!!! With a lot of soul search and working out how my body works and how to get it to lose weight has been quite the journey! I'm not as lucky as…
  • Thank you all for your touching comments :) It's nice to get positive feedback to spur me along to lose the second lot of 200lbs! :) Hopefully I will have a thread in the next 2 years celebrating 400+lbs lost! That would be AWESOME! :D
  • whew! Took 5 tries but I got it!!!
  • ok, hopefully I did this right! It's not the most recent as I am about 20lbs lighter than the last pic, but I shall update soon enough :) ok..fail...let try AGAIN!!
  • Oh how I miss Torani! America has so many awesome things! I have used DaVinci before, but it just isn't the same!!! Might tuck some away in my suitcase next time Im out there :)
  • I totally agree lchf is MUCH easier. I have binge eating disorder which is a struggle, so say the least, to keep under wraps if carbs are in the picture. But I have just completed day 7 of 5% cabrs and not one single slip up. I don't think that has EVER happened. And without slip ups, there is no food guilt...which is…
  • Thanks for the warm welcome :) Ive been doing good with eating more fat than protein, except for today. Im all out of whack today! I think it was the tuna for lunch that pushed me over, still have higher fat grams but its too close for comfort. How do you guys feel about sweeteners? I know some people are hardcore and…
  • I really like this WOE. I have no cravings, well...except its that time of month and last night there was a commercial for ice cream lol, but that was advertising at its best, as soon as it was over and I distracted myself I didn't want it :) I have been officially diagnosed with binge eating disorder years ago, been in…
  • Hiya, Im a yank in the UK too :) Been here 6.5 years! Welcome!
  • I own one, but it is now confiscated and buried in the cupboard. I get a bit OCD...which isnt good with an ED, so now I weigh weekly at my GP office. Although I am tempted to buy a body analyser once I hit a certain goal. Look for loose fitting clothes, tape measure, more flexibility, stamina, etc as this is a health…
  • I look at it this was: if I can cover it up and still fit in a roller coaster seat then WIN, lol. If not, fail. Still not there yet, but I will! If I had the sleeve to do all over again it would be a heck yes! And Im going to be drowning in skin when Im done, but I dont care as long as me and my skin fit on a roller…
  • Im 2.5 years out and can eat masses! I've brought it up with my surgeon since my 6 month check up and he just shrugs his shoulders lol...thanks! So yeah, dieting is still very much a part of my life but the sleeve helps :)
