I had the flu a couple weeks ago; for three days I lived on gatorade, chicken broth, and ramen noodles. I added cayenne and garlic powder to the broth and ramen, too. Just make sure you're staying hydrated, especially if you have a fever and the sweats!

The vegetable fried rice and the chimichurri rice from the freezer section are both really good. I love the sriracha hummus - been bringing that to work with some baby carrots and celery for an afternoon snack. They have a variety of trail mixes; I really love the almonds, cashews, and chocolate one (especially because you…

I'm 5'7", currently weigh 203 with 43" bust, 35" waist, 41" hips. My current goal is 165 pounds; from there I'll see if I need to lose more. I don't want to go any lower than 150 because I think I would look a bit sick/gaunt (my mother is half an inch shorter than me, and she looks like she's ill when she drops below 150)

I'm 5'7" and I've lost 10 pounds in the past month. I haven't really seen too much of a difference, but a few of my friends have noticed a change. I weigh and measure myself every Sunday, and I take photos from the front and side in just my underwear. It wasn't until I looked at the photos from 4 weeks apart right next to…

In the past week, three people have commented that I've lost weight, my trainer commented that I'm starting to have some noticeable muscle definition in my arms, and I held a plank for a full minute TWICE

A couple years ago I started at 220 and got down to 185. I didn't have any problems with skin elasticity, but I'm also relatively tall (5' 7.5"), so that makes a bit of a difference. Here's a progress comparison I made at the time: I'm currently back up to 220 and starting over. I'm planning to get down to 165 and see how…

I participated in my first Tough Mudder!

I only log housework if it's something like rearranging all of the furniture, full floor-to-ceiling scrubdown, etc - for example, back in March I spent 19 hours painting, rearranging, sweeping, mopping, rearranging again, etc.. I don't log my weekly touchups - an hour with the windex and the vacuum just really doesn't cut…

I always find these posts so interesting...I'm 5'7", 195 pounds, and wear size 12 pants and size L-XL tops (depending on cut/brand/material).

5'7", 27 years old. I have long limbs and a short torso, tend to gain in my stomach/chest. When I started in September, I weighed 220 pounds (99.8 kg). I don't have any full body pics from then, but I DO have this picture from my sister's wedding on May 12, 2012 (I'm on the far left): When I weighed myself yesterday, I was…

I have a problem with binge eating too. What I did to slow/stop it was kept carrot and celery sticks in the fridge - nothing like the way you feel after eating half a pound of veggies to make you re-think it next time!

MFP has me eating 45 grams of protein a day (which seems absurdly low) and I almost always go over limit. I eat a lot of chicken (I can get a 2 1/2 lb bag of boneless skinless breast meat tenderloins for less than $10) and my recent thing has been salmon (two pre-cooked 4-oz filets for about $4), etc. If you look at my…

I'm 5'7", shooting for 165 for the time being. Once I get there, I might decide to lose another 10-15 pounds

Last night's dinner...grilled chicken, carrot, celery, and granny smith apple mixed with low-fat parmesan peppercorn ranch over mixed greens. 268 calories. Today's lunch...homemade "mostly veggie meatloaf" with low-cal parmesan peppercorn ranch, corn, baby carrots, and grape tomatoes. 224 calories.

Not my healthiest lunch (619 calories! 29g fat!), but pretty delicious... Trader Joe's pre-cooked salmon, and homemade avocado mac and cheese (using brown rice pasta)
-
Jalapeno chicken sausage, carrots, and celery in low-sodium chicken broth...267 calories, and only about 10 minutes to make =)

Tonight's dinner...baby spinach, carrot, celery, apple, grape tomatoes, and jalapeno chicken sausage with Trader Joe's spicy peanut vinaigrette. Delicious, filling, and only 258 calories. edited to change photo size

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast 12 oz jar of salsa (any kind) Put in the crock pot on low for 8 hours, shred with 2 forks, let sit about half an hour. I do this almost every week =)

I've found that kids are more likely to eat fruits and vegetables if you give them a funky name - try sliced apples with a peanut butter "lollipop" (a tablespoon of peanut butter), or "ants on a log" (celery stalks filled with peanut butter or cream cheese and topped with raisins). I used to make breakfast burritos for…

Garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, fresh-ground black pepper, cinnamon, lemon, curry, cumin...so many ways to season food without salt!

I used to drink almost every day - a couple beers at a baseball game, a glass of wine with dinner, a mixed drink or three at the bar with friends. Once I looked up the calories in the drinks I was choosing...well, it was obvious that I needed to cut back. Now, I mainly only drink on Friday nights - usually a couple vodka…

I had an advanced reading level when I was younger, so I would see a word I hadn't heard in everyday life and figure out what it meant from context but not know how to pronounce it. I was 6 or 7 and my mother was driving all of us in the back seat. "Oh, mommy, it's like your a choffer!" "A what?" "A choffer! You know, a…

I took a little break for a week while I was on vacation, and now I have to get back into gear - request sent!

I'm in the same boat, still losing but I like to look nice for work. I went to Walmart and bought a couple of George brand pencil skirts ($12-16 each). I haven't really needed new tops yet, but I've been checking Walmart, Target, and Old Navy for when the basics go on sale. Good luck!

I weighed myself on a Thursday night the first time, and my weekly weigh-ins have continued on Thursdays. Seeing my success from the week before keeps me from cheating on the weekend =) I also started taking pictures from the front and side every week so that I can track my progress visually. It's helped me get past the 2…
