When my sweet tooth just won't quit I make this a meal: 1 cup fat free plain (or vanilla, whatever you preference) 1/4 cup dark chocolate or blueberry granola 1 cup strawberries chopped up into small pieces It is so much sweet and the calories of a normal meal, plus you're getting dairy (with protein), fruit, and whole…

Any free weights you do, try sitting on the stability ball to do it. It works your core. Here are some of the workouts I do with my trainer: http://exercise.about.com/od/abs/ss/abexercises.htm We especially work on: 1/2 plank for 1 minute Lay on your back with a stability ball between your ankles, legs straight. Raise legs…

I've done ok I suppose. I did 12 minutes of sprint intervals as a warm-up (burn btwn 150-200 cals), 25 min high intensity strength training, then 25 min on elliptical. Total burn? 800. And just finished my 6th bottle of water. Can I relax now? haha!

How's everyone doing on the challenge today? 2 1/2 bottles down, 4 1/2 more to go...eeek! Oatmeal for breakfast and baked chicken bites (non-breaded) and a salad for lunch. Yum! Going to the gym late this afternoon.

I'm in! Never done a "skinny challenge" before, but I'm excited for it! Goal is to drink 6-7 bottles of water (usually drink 4-5) and elliptical for 45 min-1 hr. We can do this!

Hey all! I'm down to 176, so down 2 lbs the past few weeks. Looking to really push this into overdrive the rest of this month! Who's still here with me?
-
Great idea about Abbey Road, thanks! I would love to take you, but I'm already paying for FOUR people...eek!!

Try washing your face right after you've cooled down from your workout (no more sweating). And make sure to moisturize because additional washing can dry out your skin.

Awesome, thanks! We're technically only in London for 6 days with our daughter (3) and my sister; then we're going on a 7 night cruise of the British Isles (and that trip is just DH and me!). We actually have 2 days after the cruise that is still unplanned, and we're thinking of hitting up Paris for a couple days before we…

Awesome advice, thanks! I'm copying your tour advice, Karen, into an email for my hubby. He's in Iraq and this will be the first time seeing him since March. We're so excited! We plan on using our debit card a lot, but want to have some cash just in case, yk?

I have a trainer and he works me high intensity. Here's a typical workout, hope it helps! 10 minute warm up, either quick on elliptical or running on treadmill Do 1 minute intervals of each: Squats push-ups chest press (I use 15 lb weights) on stability ball shoulder press on stability ball Tricep press (use the edge of a…

What a great inspiration! I've been struggling for about 6 wks now and know I will get through it, and it's good to see light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks so much, and congrats on the 2 lbs!

Welcome to the site! I know you can lose that 40 lbs, and this site is such an amazing tool to get you through it.

I'm still at 178, grr! But my eating has been less than ideal. Trying to stay strong, but hubby leaving again has been hard. :( Trying to stay with it.

Hi ladies! I've been gone a few weeks because my hubby was home for a visit. And now he's gone again :brokenheart: How is everyone doing? I've not lost weight in 3 weeks but it has to be because of Thomas being home and us eating terribly. Trying now to get back on track, but the old emotional eater is rearing her ugly…

Well he's gone again. Won't see him again until August.....

I'm still hovering at 178. Can't bust through. Thomas leaves tomorrow and I'll be able to get back into the eating routine. But tonight we're having pizza
-
Timmie- I'll kick you in the butt...fwap! Get going! hahaha, jk. I know how you feel. It's so close to the end for you and it's so hard to get your workouts in and food right. Thomas is home! He's been home for 6 days, and things have been wonderful. We had a friend babysit last night so we could go to a Christian concert…

**hugs** for you Tammie. I know it's hard. And for me personally, God is the only thing that really gets me through. When I can't deal, I just say a little prayer asking for God to lend me some of his strength because mine is all used up. And it always works for me. I will either read a book, watch a movie with my…
I still find myself when running, having to start on my left foot when counting my breathing. :embarassed:
OMG!! I thought it was just me!
Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Thanks for answering my question about winter birthdays. I'm sorry some of you get jipped...totally unfair! Yeah the 2 occasions are right next to eachother, but that means the family has all year to prepare!

Greetings from another band geek. I played flute and piccolo in marching band and symphonic band, was drum major my senior year, and played oboe in concert band. Glad to know I'm not the only band geek out there. I still find myself when running, having to start on my left foot when counting my breathing. :embarassed:

I'm tired of feeling sorry for myself and thinking I'm not worth it. I have a toddler and like playing with her, and I just coulnd't do that like I wanted to. Plus, with my husband in Iraq, I have time to focus on me and when he sees me I want him to not quite recognize me!! :)

I intend on working on my speed once I complete the program. Tomorrow is my last day of week 6 and I'm barely running a 12 minute mile. Or you could start training for a 10 k or 1/2 marathon so that the 5k is like a training session. Congrats on completing the program, that's truly something to be proud of! Edited to add…

Brenda I'm outraged for you. Unacceptable! Schools are meant to be places where kids can grow and develop. Granted, I know I'm not trusting the school to be the first to educate my daugher on the facts about sex, and I get the feeling that you had already had conversations with yours about sex. But even then, to be in a…

Welcome tiffanie! This group of fine ladies is just here to support each other during deployments and prolonged DOD contractor hubby absences (My hubby is a contractor, so he's not technically deployed but I still hurt and these girls are very understanding of that and love me anyway). We've never done a weigh-in or…

So sorry to hear you're down right now. But just keep busy and try not to think about it. I know that we can't say much to make you feel better, and we're all doing the best we can right now, but we're here for you to vent to and cry with. :flowerforyou:

Hi ladies! Timmi and holly- thanks so much for your concern! I'm here and surviving. I was in El Salvador for a week on a mission trip. We got back on Friday, baby girl got sick and I've been trying to recover from a very emotional trip, help her feel better and prepare my house because Thomas comes home in TWO days.…

I've always wondered how Winter (especilly so close to Christmas) babies and kids deal with it. Do most get double presents or jipped? Our anniversary is a couple days after Val Day and we always celebrate both together. But I guess that's not the same thing?
