Krissy - did you try selecting the moderate 3-5 days of exercise on the online calculator and then eating that on your UP days and not eating back exercise calories? That's what I'm shooting for - but oddly on my UP days I am not that hungry! So today is an UP day and I am really trying to eat up to my goal so I can have a…

Grr typical as it always is when I try something new - setbacks! So here the deal so far Monday - UP day hit around 1600 calories which I really don't think is enough for a DD to follow. Tuesday DD - hit about 1,000 calories, just had a hard time not eating - did a lot of exercise though and hoping a good UP day will help…

So did an UP day yesterday and though I don't feel I completely over ate - didn't eat the healthiest either. Plus I was really tired - probably from eating all the junk over the weekend. Monday - 1600 calories Tuesday - DD - shooting for the 500 calories. Starting out good - just coffee with my creamer which I already went…

So your eating exercise calories back? The way I read it - you figured your amount on how much you exercised and then didn't eat them back. But I guess you could do it by using no exercise then logging and eating some back. I'm using an amount that includes my exercise up front - since I've been really consistent with my…

I'm still here and still on MPF pretty much daily. Feel free to friend me. I work Downtown and live North but if there's a run or something going on I don't mind traveling to do it with a group.

I actually meant to post on this thread to get re-started but ended up with my own thread. Anyway - trying this again - any support appreciated :)

I buy Jay Robb and to me they do taste better than a fast food shake. I had a McDonald's chocolate one as a treat not long ago and prefer my protein shakes - McDonald's was too sweet and sickly tasting. I guess good for me that I don't want fast food shakes any more. Having one at night worked for me but again. Maybe…

Do a protein shake before bed. Use ice and either water or milk if you prefer, a scoop of chocolate protein powder and blend - taste better than any fast food shake to me and the protein will help you sleep without being hungry.

I wear bikini's -- nothing wrong with it - age is not a factor in my opinion. I bought one in Cabo - a swim suit specialty shop. Try Venus online - venus.com. They have lots of options. Order early enough so if you need to return the size you can - I bought a real cute one their last year and I am NOT where I want to be…

Sigh~~ I guess I should just admit that those types of food are what are keeping me from my goal. I work out hard, I stay within my calorie range, though I when I look back at my diary it is very carb heavy and I do eat the ocassional potato, breads, pasta, pizza (pretty much daily) and I'm not losing. Actually the only…

Hello Heidi! I would recommend New Rules of Lifting for Women. It is a great program that is good for beginning weight lifters and really explains the exercises and sets out the workouts for you. I've done a lot of weight machines and was totally surprised at how this program really targets those muscles without being at…

Hi to all our new ladies. I think some challenges would be great to post in this group. I personally have a very hard time with just calories in versus calories out. So I'm always looking for new and different ways to motiviate my exercise and eating habits. I try zig zag, I tried the 5:2, I tried just logging and staying…

I will be interested to see what results other people have had from HRT also. I also have gained in the middle and it seems nothing I do can get it off. I am having a hard time with my moods - some days I am just blah for no good reason. I am really working on increasing my exercise and watching my calories and eating…

I had good luck with the Estroven Nighttime for helping the night sweats and sleep issues. Nothing has helped the weight loss yet. But I am now trying a progesterone cream and a supplement for weight loss from Uni-Key. The supplement is more of a minerals and vitamins pill - not a weight loss in the respect that it has…

Wow - kind of depressing that we have all this to deal with. I should forward this to my husband who has no understanding of what I am going through!

Anita - I will be so interested to know what you thought of the test kit and what your numbers are. I have toyed with the idea of ordering it too. I did get the cream and have been using it once a day and then I stopped when I started my period and will resume it 7 days after my start day. This was cheap enough for me to…

Have you heard of the Jay Robb Fat Burning Diet? I hate to classify it as a diet as it is a really good, healthy eating plan that focuses on the way that your body reacts to glycogen management. Its a very easy plan to follow. I lost a great deal of weight on it and felt great. I still follow most of his practices - though…

Wow - this just kills me as my Gyno recommended it for weight loss - he said that if I had my menopausal stress under control it would help me lose weight. I'm like you - not really depressed just was being really worrisome over things. I'm glad I never stayed on it. I already had weight to lose! I'm not trying the…

Hey girls - I'm here and really struggling to get back on track. Over the weekend we were out camping allergies got me down and I've been fighting off congestion, coughing, running a fever and I have a touch of asthma so this is no fun. I have just taken the week off from exercise and logging and trying to get back to…

I'm loing Ann Louise's blog and have been really reading her advice on supplements. I just started the ProgestraKey on Sunday and am going to follow it for perimenopausal - doing it once a day in the morning. I really would love to do the Salvatory Hormone Test Kit in the near future - its 115.00 which I guess isn't that…

Hi Lisa. This sounds alot like. I've active and the weight has just creeped and creeped to where now I am right at about 30 lbs over. I feel like I need to cut back on calories, especially processed and carbs to lose it but then I feel like I am tired alot. How do we balance this out - lol. I am having pre-menopausal…

Lol funny you say that about the strawberry Rita's as I am drinking one of the new mango ones now! Well we do actually go camping almost every weekend and I think that is how I gained some of my weight. So yes I do a lot of walking and now I ride motorcycle trials which is very active so I'm hoping it balances. I'll try to…

Yea - I'm glad I have people participating so I'm not just talking to myself on here - lol. Yesterday was a good day. I did over 5 miles walking/jogging and stayed below my calorie goal according to my fitbit. I am weighing my food at home now and it has made a big difference. Since dinner at home is where I usually fail…

Ok thanks! I'm not sure what estriol is. I don't wxnt to do anything not natural.

I just ordered some progesterone cream - you say it makes you gain weight? I was hoping it would help me to lose the weight - since the biggest place I've gained and can't seem to start losing is right in the middle. Am I wrong in thinking this will help this?

Also you mentioned being tired - have you thought about iron levels. When I was in my mid-thirties I was having the same issues and have a history of thyroid in my family so I was sure that's what it was - tested it and came back normal, but my iron levels were very low and after about 2 months of being on the iron pills…

Yep - you are correct - it is almost impossible to log everything exactly correct. As the above poster mentioned too - make sure the MFP entry is correct. I started double checking everything and I found several entries that I was using on MFP that were way off on calories and protein. So I started googling and researching…

There's a really good group here on MFP. Its a great concept and I found out everything I wanted to know by reading the groups threads and by going on http://thefastdiet.co.uk/forums/

As far as the logging, I've been frustrated myself about losing. I finally purchased a food scale and yep - what I thought I was eating and logging as one serving was in most cases double that. I was really surprised myself. I had been measuring, cups and spoons, but not weighing. And that was just what I weighed when I…

The Sexy pants thread -- really good reading. I see that you (OP) posted another similar post a few days ago. Your getting frustrated - which can be easy to do when you don't see the type of weight loss you want. It takes time, especially as a woman and as we get older. Hang in there and try not to focus too much on the…
