  • Yes. I have never had anxiety problems before starting menopause. I have used meditation and reiki to combat them. It works. Its all in your brain and learning to control that has made a huge difference.
  • Lol I was just thinking the same thing I turned 50 last July. That's ok I feel 30 something!
  • I think the Jay Robb Fat Burning plan would be good for you. I've done it and have great results and it is fairly easy to follow. I can send you more info if you want. I also have a Facebook group I have set up for sharing information and motivation if your interested in joining us. Sorry about your injury - I hurt my knee…

If your still interested in joining us on FB, please send me a Private message here on MFP and I'll get you added. We are having a great time sharing and keeping each other motivated. Blessed, you want to do as clean of a protein powder…
  • I have gone through this the last couple of years too. Yes the moodiness is bad. The not starting and then being afraid that I'm pregnant, because husband and I weren't using anything and then starting with a vengeance. I tried a low does of anti-depressant, Lexipro and the other one. I did not like the side effects so I…
  • I went to my local health food store and asked the clerk working there and she recommended these for nighttime and an anxiety relief formula pill for the daytime. The daytime pills have something like Vit. D and other minerals that are good for stress support. I showed them both to my GYN Dr. and he said they were both…
  • I found some homeopathic herbal drops that I started using to sleep. It has Valerian and some other type of oil I think I can't remember right off. But I drink 12 drops it in small glass of water and sleep like a baby!
  • If you click on the "Fitness Challenge" thread - I think I posted the link for the articles there.
  • Yep Karen - that is exactly what it takes sometimes! Just remember - your not giving up - it doesn't matter how many times you "start over" or how many different programs you try as long as your still trying.
  • Karen - I used to do the same thing. But mine would be stopping by McDonalds or Burger King on my way home and devour whatever I would get before I would get home and then I would actually stop somewhere and throw the wrapper away before I got home thinking if I did that then it means it never happened! Weird. I was never…
  • Debra - 40 30 30 sounds like it should work for you. But you may need to switch it up and try something new. I bought an ebook from the ME plan (which I put on the FB group page). Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Lose-Weight-Here-Metabolic-Stubborn/dp/1623364760 Its actually a great read and makes so much sense. I'm…
  • I feel your pain! I was doing everything possible in the working out department and feeling the same way. I think at our age so much of it is what we eat and trying to find that balance. You can eat too little, or you feel crappy and still don't lose and too much you feel crappy and actually gain! What eating plan are you…
  • I was in your same exact place and feeling very frustrated. Counting calories wasn't working. It was making me obsessive with food and every little thing going in my mouth. Googling and researching to find out what was the true nutrient values for each food (because we all know that just using the food diary on MFP is not…
  • I have not got the ME book. I've been following the 21 day fix plan which is a healthy balance of macros and doing pretty good at it this last week. I've had so many ups and downs the last 6 months. Death in my family. Feel and hurt my knee and broke my little finger, etc. etc etc. It just seems like there's always…
  • Welcome! I think because it is a secret group. And I think you have to send me a friend request on FB and then I have to add you. So find me on FB Jawona Carpenter and then when you friend request me also send me a message so I know you want in the group and I'll add you. Wow - it sounds like you are doing great! I'm still…
  • Yea! I'm so happy you all are finding this information beneficial. Be sure to come back and let us know what you think of the book. I've been posting in our FB group page for accountability. But this has been a tough week - already. As usual something gets in the way. I came down with a stomach bug yesterday but am right…
  • Diane - I added you to the group. Yes we will continue to post here so everyone can get the benefit of the information. I'm excited to get started this week!
  • I sent you a FR. After you accept I'll add you to the group.
  • I thought it might because it is a secret group I think I have to be friends with you and then add you. I think I just added you smilebhappy.
  • If you are interested in joining the FB Group - I think this link will work - if not let me know. I did make it secret so you might have to add me as a friend and then I can add you. You can feel free to unfriend me after that - I understand some people are more private. If you have already friended me and I haven't added…

  • Hi all! I am back from my weekend and now I have nothing going on until the end of March so I'm going to get this group up and running. I did however have a little mishap on Thursday - slipped on some ice and really messed up my pinky finger and my knee so I have some mending to do. Even better time to get the nutrition…

  • Hi all. I'm sorry I haven't been on much. I'm still dealing with my family stuff. I am going out of town this weekend. And I believe we are planning the service on March 21 so I'm hoping to be back to at least semi-normal after we get most of that planning done this weekend. I'm so glad I've go so many interested in this!…
  • HI Chris - I just posted some great information about this in my post about the challenge. Take a look at it and see if its something your interested in joining.
  • Ok I looked at the link to purchase the program. I hadn't even seen it as I was just gathering information. I don't think I will purchase it - at least not to start with. I think I can piece together some good information from their blogs. Here's one I thought was interesting too.…
  • Great! I will let you know if that's what we decide to do is open a FB group or do a group here on MFP. I would say it would depend on what the majority want to do.
  • Thank you all. Because of my circumstances I haven't been able to spend as much time as I'd like on the links I posted. So I'm glad you all found them helpful! I also want to get the book and I'll have to go back and look at that program for 97.00. It looks like healthy starches are these: Starchy vegetables, such as corn,…
  • Great - do you have a Facebook page? I'm currently also posting the info on the Menopausal group (I saw you joined that group too) so you may want to leave a comment on that thread also so I can keep you informed.
