  • Lea - so it took you 3 weeks of zig zag to see a loss? Just curious because I had a small loss - but that was it. I am thinking I must not be estimating my portions correctly. Its not like I can measure everything I eat and I wasn't logging little things - like creamer. So this week I am really trying to correctly estimate…
  • Well I certainly don't have any trouble eating those calories - lol I am down 1 pound from last week. Considering I've almost had no losses over the last 6 months - I'll take it. I feel good - I am working out more - taking all my supplements. I have had an easier time sticking to my calorie goal - even though I've been…
  • I am going to be 48 and my husband just turned 35. We are very happy and well-matched. I think it depends soley on each indidivual person. There are some 40 some years old that I would date because they were too imature!
  • I have right around 30 to lose too. I don't know if that's why is been harder for me this time around and/or because of my age/hormonal state. I do need to plan better on Mondays though - it is a lower calorie day and I only had 360 calories left for dinner last night. I went over a little - but all in all - I think I did…
  • I would love to get together - even if its a nice walk/hike somewhere - friend me and maybe we can make it happen some weekend.
  • I live in Excelsior Springs - but I used to live in Independence so I know that area well. I work downtown. I wouldn't mind doing something like getting together on a Saturday or Sunday. I used to run on that trail by the little blue - very pretty with the river and all.
  • I am here- I would like to find someone to run or workout with too - I live up north though I work downtown.
  • Cbart - what are you doing now and have you seen results? You can log weight lifting in cardio and it will give you calories burned. I would use your HRM to log those numbers. If your using the little to no exercise to get your daily calories - I would definitely add some back in. I haven't been good at weight training…
  • I do miss logging my exercise too. I have been pretty consistent about my walking five days a week so I decided to go with that number. If I start getting more active I will recalculate.
  • Yep - I have noticed that the age over 45 makes a difference!
  • Wow your numbers are pretty high. Mine are in the 1312 (lowest day) and 1800 (highest day) but most are at 1555. You must be younger than me - lol.
  • I am not Hypothyroidism (at least that I know of), but I have not lost weight after really trying for about 6 months. So I am really wanting to try this. I have figured out my chart and I am putting my highest calorie day on Saturday. Feel free to friend me!
  • That's what I did - I moved them so that my highest day is on Saturday :)
  • Thank OP for posting and sharing. This website is all about sharing ideas and helping each other out. If you don't believe it - or don't think it will work for you - then don't do it. Geez people - why so many rude comments. No what works for one doesn't always work for others. But at least the OP is being nice enough to…
  • Use the fat loss number - not the extreme fat loss. I'm going to start using the fat loss - because if I just move the scale - even a little a week - I'd be happy.
  • I read it as you don't worry about exercise calories as you have already calculated that in when you put down what you exercise (3 x week; 5 x week, etc). If I'm reading this wrong - someone let me know. I think I am going to try this as I have been trying to lose for a while now and haven't even had a chance to plateau as…
  • Completely understand the being busy - but maybe you could take one or two days a week and not walk and do some weight lifting. You will not become a body builder unless you are putting in hours a day and lifting quite heavy and then still its difficult to achieve a body building body as a female. But you will greatly…
  • I can't see your stats or your diary - but IMHO - I think as you get older you have to do some sort of exercise plan to lose. You say you get plenty of exercise - but your walking doing your daily routine may not be enough. Your body is used to it - you need to switch it up and do some sort of HITT or weight training.
  • "Ty so much for that Christi, i think that might also be part of the issue is that i really only have him and a few other family memebers on my MFP friends i dont have really anyone in my shoes for friends. I dont get very much motivation or "hey great job today!!" on my activity. i think i may just figure out a way to…
  • "And I'm sure it's been mentioned countless times in this thread already that the exceptions to the rule when it comes to these formulas are the ones with medical conditions or otherwise leading to suppressed metabolisms. If your body is working as it should, these formulas can and will work given enough time. Initial…
  • (This response was prompted because another poster asked if doing the weight training was mandatory) I am a huge fan of the Eat More concept. If anyone wants encouragement - please feel free to add me. I have had ups and downs in the journey to be thinner and healthier. I think it is true that what works for one doesn't…
  • Yep - I will so totally take the no period too! I just want to know whether I can still get pregnant so we don't have to use protection. I felt really tired and bloated and grouchy all week. I started taking Estroven w/energy and I think it helped yesterday - by last night I actually felt better and was in a better mood.…
  • The only time I lost was when I upped my calories - but - I also paid a lot of attention to my macros and really tried to hit them - meaning I upped my protein and fiber intake and kept my carbs at 40%. I felt like I was eating a lot and I was very satisfied - but I had more energy to work out - and also I started doing…
  • I've been on this loss journey for a while - feel free to add me too - love to get and give support :).
  • Wow - I can't believe your Dr. would tell you to go down to 1000 calories a day. I think 1200 is too low. Are you active at all? If your losing slowly or not at all you might check out the Eat More to Lose Weight group - there's a lot of info on there. I was doing the 1200 calories and eating back exercise and didn't move…
  • I just posted a similar post - would be interested to hear other's successes.
  • Hi there - welcome to MFP. I am going on 48 and I was trying to do 1200 and did not lose a thing. I would really check out the forums on finding your BMR and your TDEE and making sure you balance your eating and exercise (and macro levels). It has made a huge difference for me. Feel free to friend me if you want I enjoy…
  • I've been MIA from the boards for a while as I have been traveling. I see now why I haven't lost - even though I stay quite active when I am traveling - I just don't eat - then I drink and I come gone and am tired and famished. Getting back on track today and going to figure a way to break that cycle. It doesn't help I am…
  • I'm right there with you. I have never had this much trouble losing. Mine is my upper body and stomach. I will say that I'm not giving up. I just joined the group eat more to lose and following the New Rules of lifting for women. It seems a lot of the ladies in that group are having good success and they are older too. I…
