My boyfriend is tall, thin, wiry, never works out, never gains a pound, never has food cravings. I know how it is to have no support system. Everyone in my family is either overweight, obese, or skinny/fat and don't care. I gain weight I "look pregnant", I lose weight I must be "starving," can't win. I know how much better…

Note that 1 whole package of Ramen is ~400-500 calories depending on the brand an flavor. Not exactly low-cal.

My personal experience with anxiety and depression ended up boiling down to my birth control. When I was on the pill I was constantly anxious and depressed and no medications ever helped, in fact they made it worse. When I was off the pill and off meds I was fine except PMS week but I figured out my triggers and learned my…

I think we are all guilty of this which is why and how many of us gained weight or can't seem to lose weight. There WERE 1200 calories in the giant lasagna I ate the other day and my 30 minute workout was not enough to make up for it no matter what I do or don't enter into my diary the real numbers are what matters. Not…

If your strength sets are getting your heart rate and breathing up then you should log it. There's weight lifting and calesthenics listed under the "cardio" section but logging each exercise under "strength training" is pointless bc I don't think it calculates a calorie burn.

The way low rise jeans are made they will pretty much always sit on your body like that. I had to give up low rise jeans for a few reasons. Some of our body types just don't look right in them. And the pockets are sewn on below crotch level so I really think they are supposed to fit like that. If they are comfortable wear…

I like fitnessblender.com. also on youtube. The workouts are pretty basic wide variety of styles, times, difficulty, lots to choose from. But they are boring videos with no music just instructions.

Everything makes me bloated and gassy. Especially healthy vegetables. I have no advice but know what you mean.

I've had the same problem before. No idea how to fix it. My own personal fix has been just small changes at a time. Eating 1 more vegetable a day, skipping a glass or 2 of wine, squeezing in one extra workout or walk, etc. I lost 12 lbs over the winter and couldn't maintain it b/c I was just simply not eating or sleeping…

My reward will be going to the lake or pool with my young, fit boyfriend and our young fit friends and not feeling bad about how I look.

My experience with a PT was great. I have always worked out but wasn't getting results and figured out I wasn't pushing myself at all. She pushed me harder than I thought possible for my body and I saw results. Now I used a youtube channel but am glad I worked with a trainer for the short time I did. I know I can push…

It really sounds like therapy was not a waste of money for you. Sometimes we really do need help from other people and there is nothing wrong with that.

I like fitness blender. I did one of their functional full body with weights for fat loss and got great results in the month or so I did it regularly. The site is lacking in features b/c you can create an account but that doesn't do anything, you can't make a playlist or keep track of your workouts, but I like having a…

Same here, I get stoked with a 5 lb loss and I guess I let myself go and gain it all back in a week or 2.
-
I only had 20 lbs to lose to begin with but stalled at 5 so am still wanting to lose 10-15 more but really have put no effort into it. For the holidays really just hoping not to gain any the maybe with the new semester at school I'll have a little more time to commit. It's hard once you are at a "good enough" place.

A tummy tuck isn't the easy way out when you've worked so hard to get where you are. I don't really understand what the problem might be with building your stomach muscles but it sounds like you're working hard to reach your goals and good for you.

I think people are guessing really high on here. I'd say MAYBE 150 based on my own height and weight but possibly less.

It's hard to eat well on a budget. We stick to lentils, rice, and frozen vegetables around here when we're broke. And I get a few dozen free eggs from my dad's farm every few months so that helps. Bulk dry, canned, and frozen foods are good to mix into a soup or casserole. Not that my weightloss has gone all that well but…

When people are used to seeing you look a certain way it may appear to them that you are "overweight" b/c they are so used to you being underweight. I was always "normal" weight and my fat family told me to eat and I was too thin and when I gained 20 lbs in a year to be just slightly overweight they were practically like…

My dad used to work those shifts and it nearly killed him. Why do they do that to people? What good does it do to keep you exhausted all the time when people's lives are in your hands?
-
I don't know what you mean by Continental shift work but can imagine it's grueling. I have 2 jobs and have class 3 days a week so it's hard for me to fit in workouts due to both time and exhaustion so I'm curious what others suggest with crazy schedules as well.

When I count every calorie from a binge I get so discouraged I just give up for weeks so when I have a bad mindless eating day and am 1000s of calories over I have to stop logging for a few days to pay attention to my body instead of numbers on a page. I haven't lost a lot but at least I haven't gained again. It's just…
-
It should be calculated as part of your lifestyle unless it's a particularly busy day. I count my work bc it's sporatic, sometimes slow, sometimes really busy and sore the next day. If it makes me sore the next day it's a workout.

So what was your question?

Lake Tahoe/Reno, Nevada are great. The middle of Sierra Nevada Mountains, absolutely beautiful.
-
I do the same thing, breakfast, lunch, snacks, all going great, then way too much for dinner. Just have to be conscious of everything I do at night when I'm home alone. I work 2 jobs and have school so my scheduled is hectic but it makes it easier to control during the day bc I don't have time to eat a big breakfast or…

There's quite a few options of swimming under exercise, cardiovascular.

Fitnessblender.com has a large selection of workouts they've put together you can use for free. The ones I've used have been challenging but there's no music just a narrorator talking you through while the model does the workout with you.

In the past I've had to buy pants or jeans 2 sizes large just to fit my thighs and have them taken in around the waist. There are some brands that make them "curvy" fit now but the only one's I know of are express and maybe the gap or old navy. Probably a lot more since this is actually a common problem.

It's going to depend on the trainer or gym. The first session should be considered a consultation and shouldn't count as a session unless you did a workout after.
